  • soooo true!!!! nice video :)

  • i hated my twa the first 2 months then i fell in love with it and i dont care if it stay this way for the rest of my life, but im growing it out to get even more styles because im very creative, ive done about 13 styles with my twa, so to make a long story short, ive mastered my own hair.

  • Fresh out the bag BAM! a new person lol

  • I love it.

  • lol he saying what ever come out his mouth haha but he told the truth :) he had me buggin he kept say twa

  • He had a LOT of good points. Honest and hilarious!!!

  • Your brother is funny....lol tiny whiny afro....lol. Black men are funny. Honesty women If you love YOU... they will love you and that is confident, cool, control so you hair must be loved too by you.

  • @annebanda1 You will be surprised how much it is an issue here!HUGE. I have natural hair and in my personal experience i have had more prejudice from my black GIRL friends. I cant explain why coz i dont get it but yeah everyone's talking about it.

  • your bro is cute!!

  • lol first of all ur brother is fine and the fact that he is honest and feels that way about black females makes him even more attractive cause Lord knows black men or atleast the ones I have been around lately do not feel that way so thank you for posting that and tell him i said i honestly appreciate that type of support and encouragement... it was definitely needed... :)

  • love this video!!

  • I didnt go natural to have long hair... i went natural cause i want to loc up! But ended up sticking to the natural look! I enjoyed my t.w.a more then my long natural hair! but to eaches own

  • I love his honesty, its great that you posted this :)

  • I love when he says, "Teenie Weenie' #classic. He gets a little aggressive too.. lol

  • i love when he says, "Teenie Weenie" lol #classic

  • You should do more vidoes with him, he's honest and funny!

  • Lol, he said, "bam, it's curly, I'm a new person." Girls be thinking that too. Girls put the long weave in their hair like an Indian and think their the gorgeous thing ever. I've seen it countless times. This girl that was in my class always had long weave and she was talkative and bouncy, but when she came to school with the weave out and her real hair she was quiet. You wouldn't even notice she was in the room.

  • not all black women are able to grow hair as long as rusticbeauty's

  • @Applebaum not true.

  • @Applebaum who told you that crap? Obviously you're blind

  • @MegaYahoogurl I said not all Black women

    that means some can

    and some cant

    ...its not crap

  • yo lil brother is a fool lol he had me rollin..."nappy or rough look" lmao

  • nice

  • I love it!...So honest!

  • Already scared because you have the disclaimer up LOL

  • "All the ppl that looked down on you with your TWA"... Uhm maybe I'm the exception..but i keep gettin compliments!!! Not one negative comment!!except for my parents... but overal, i LOVE my TWA... i might even keep it short!!!..XD

  • i realize this is video is almost 2yrs old

however this was a perfect idea to ask a brotha what he thinks :)

he was very honest and understanding

  • nice, thanks :) It's good to know there is support in the community for those of us trying to be real with who we are.

  • Your brother is soo wise; I have receive alot of negative comments, and dirty looks for going natural. I can't wait until I reach my hair goal so everyone that doesn't approve of it will shut their mouths up!

  • i love the way he was talkin bout short hair "they brush it down, style it to the left, style it to the right, swoop it upp, swoop it down!!!

  • OMG! Your videos are so informative. I had no idea what a TWA was. I recently did my BC so I now have one. Can't wait to have a head of hair like yours.

  • What an intelligent young man...the answer to the last question is sooooo insightful. Older brahs could stand to take some pointers from this young man. Hiding behind the weave, make up, and clothes point was just awesome. I love being natural and will never change, just like he said!

  • Love his honesty on the twa question...lmao...he kept it soooo real.

  • your bro is hilarious! and he sounds like a preacher lol

  • He's cuuute lol. Tell your brother I say haaay !!! lol jk jk

This was a nice video though. : ]

  • Black is beautiful! Young man you are so intelligent and georgous. This video made my day. I am staying natural. Thank You both.

  • ....ur brother is cute :)

  • @mariellalunagoddes I agree. how old is he...? LOL

  • This boost my confidence. I natural and today was the first time I wore my hair very curly. It was kinda weird to see people staring at me but i want to do two strand twists but I was afraid to see how it would turn out this gives me confedience to try it out.

  • precious!

  • swoop it up swoop it down LOOOOOOL soo funny

  • Oh! my darling how true you are. I just cut my hair and I just love it. It's short all natural (no chemicals to alter the texture) but I did colored it. Man I wish I had done this a long time of ago. I was just so tired of all the products just to keep up with a certain look. I am a sexy 46 year old mother of 2 adult children and a grandmother of 2. Now that I've made this wonderful transition I'm even more sexier than ever. I will post a video soon so please respond. Stay handsome (smile).

  • This guy is young and he is so mature. This is a real man ladies. They make them like this anymore.

Man intelligence is all about one' though process and not the words you use or even what you know. This guy is VERY intelligent!

  • It is a beautiful thing to hear a Black man appreciate a woman in her natural state

  • LMFAO twa hahahahah his answer was hilarious

  • lol such long funny answers

  • LOL.......this was hilarious at times! He kept it all the way 100! Thanks for sharing I enjoyed listening to prospective!!

  • aww

  • Awww how sweet! You guys are great, I'm sure you make your parents proud.

  • Awww, he's sweet.

  • When are you going to let him come on here again?! He was so real and funny! Love it! LOL

  • he's cuuuute!

  • Hahahahaha; your brother is fool!

  • lol I love this, and your brother's cute...lol tell him I said heyyyyyyyy I'm transitioning XD

  • lmao ILUV HIM lol can i say dat but wtv i find imformative on men views on natural hair but really entertaining as well :)

  • lol your brother... did good...lol its good that he has you as an example for sistahs with natural hair

  • cooor hes nice : )

  • I hope there is a heaven for Black women, a place where people like us just the way we are naturally

  • He is so amazing. I almost wanted to cry. I never hear this from black guys. He even understood how liberating it is to just be you, naturally and what a difference it makes in how you carry yourself.

  • lol eletrocution ......swoop it to the left ...right

  • lol i love your brothers accent

  • you are the natural hair guru!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ur brother is hilarious and so right, with everything he said I just wanted to high five him, b/c I have the same thoughts on every question that he answered.

  • This is a great video and great idea to add a man's point a view to the mix!!! He's a cutie and funny!!! I really appreciated his honesty, and his thoughts are really encouraging to us naturals!!! I enjoyed it!!

  • your brother is so real but so funny! I am also thinking of cutting my relaxed hair off and to be honest i havent thought about relaxing my hair for over three months now....but i guess its just an individual thing 7 its what people prefer to do with their hair....all we can do is try to change pples minds on relaxin hair.

  • LMBO I love your brother, lol. He's hilarious.

  • I really really liked this vid!

  • He made me feel a lot better about my natural hair. Im glad that there are men out there that appreciate & understand the process of natural beauty. i went through self esteem issues when i went natural because i (un wantinglly) went though "the big chop" because i wasnt taking care of my relaxed hair which was very long... but not healthy. so long story short, i appreciate his views... and his looks lol. thanx

  • Your bro is intelligent. You must be very proud of him. My bro likes my natural hair but i dont think he is to the point where he thinks like your bro but hopefully one day he will. On that note, hopefully most black men will.

  • ummmm is he single???????

  • totally agree with the make up no make up... they could be inconsistent- mind u i have gone out withouth makeup thinkin am ugly but guys on the street seem to think the opposite so it is cognitively biased. howeve the weave no weave dont bug me cus ave been growing my hair for tym no and am finalyy reaping what ive sewed lol... so hapi :)

  • lol! so true about getting hit on when you're not even trying to be cute or impress anyone. I've had those days too, just not even caring yet some dude will still try to holla! but yeah i liked his answers too and I also hope and pray for the future of our People.

  • I am so glad I came across this video. I have just decided to wear my hair out [of weaves] and I am thinking of transitioning. I was having a rough couple of week because I used to wear hair weaves. After watching this video I am reminded of why I have decided to take care of my own hair. This was very helpful thank you.

  • he's funny!!

  • your bro is too funny but he is a real dude. He must really be proud of your hair, I am and I haven't even met you lol. I'm "transitionings" with braids right now, even though I have already cut off all my permed hair

  • He's soooooo funny!

  • I'm 19, & personally, I WOULD take a female with a TWA.

  • Comment removed

  • That made me feel alot better.

  • Lol your brother sounds like a preacher but he had very good points and I'm happy that guys are responding so confidently and highly of the natural hair. I love your hair btw and I can't wait until my hair can be styled like yours.

  • Good to hear a young Brotha's perspective on the issue.

  • lol hes sooo funny lol!

  • Lol..."they pull it straight out the bag...bam! Its curly"...hilarious!

  • I'm STILL lol'ing on that one..."Bam!! It's curly"

  • Its true what your bro said about the weave how you put it on like make up

  • I LOVE your brother! he just makes so much sense with what he says..it's refreshing :D

  • i really like your brother. i wonder if he had this much perspective BEFORE you went natural. because if he didn't, he sure learned a lot from you being his sister and going through this in front of him. very nice.

  • nice. love the natural beauty!

  • Great questions and Great Answers!

  • great video, i like his opinions

  • yay this was so motivational. and it is so true what he said about the weaves. i use to wear weaves and like i never feel like the same person with out them. i am natural now and i feel the same everyday.

  • why can't I rate this video?

    very nice intervieuw

  • You know what I like everything he had to say and I can see where he's coming from. I'm proud of him.

  • Very profound words for a young man!

  • LOL i am in my transition now and this sounds just like my little bro!!! love it!!!

  • Yo, your brother is so funny! And REAL! I think it's good that he mentioned that about the TWAs too because a lot of naturals say that they love their short fros but they really don't want it. But it's okay to not want it short and eventually want to grow it out. Also, it's okay to prefer it short and not have to maintain longer hair....it's just how you rock it and maintain it that really counts. Your brother spoke the truth!

  • LOL your brother is a trip! He is right about the TWA. I dont want to have it right now but I know once it grows out. Im going to love it!

  • I love how raw he is. Lol!!! He aint hard to look at either ; )

  • I don't know RB, I kinda agree with everything he had to say. Also thank you for being so inspiring to all of us in the natural communitiy, I was almost at my breaking point the other day. I'm kinda at that stage where my fro isn't so teeny but still to short to put in a pony tail. What type of style would you recommend? I'm 6 months in.

  • I was recently there too and I just kinda rocked puffs but smooshed in the excess hair to make it look even (you know what I mean)? Also, if you do coils/twists, it'll kinda just fall better and you won't have to worry about if it's not quite long enough for ponytails or short enough to put in a puff. It will grow out really fast though...I can't believe that this month (Nov 2009) is my 1 year anniversary! Time flies! And I'm still learning... :)

  • @JonelleElise rvi

  • lol nice interview!

  • your brother is finnnne.

  • lol!

  • i have a twa and i love my curls so does my bf. im learning to enjoy my twa but I love watching it grow.

  • Your brother has a nice smile

  • i dont want my TWA to stay a TWA...lol...but i do love my hair... lol

  • INTERESTING VIDEO i see alot of comment, but i doubt BW get the message. just like chris rocks movie. people will watch, they will laugh, then they will go back to making the asians rich. no one will change black women but themselves

  • this guy is hilarious...who needs chris rocks movie? put this in the theater!

  • Great Video...a cutie too!

  • hee hee- larious!

  • Um. FINE.

  • I love his enthusiasm...so funny to watch

  • i like the fact that he pointed out how natural hair = Black and natural is beautiful black is beautiful and i agree with that because i really want to show how just naturally beautiful my hair can be im tired of having "averagely straight hair" not dissing straight hair but relaxed hair is boring and blah

    natural's the way to go

  • I like this guy......lol...he had me laughing " style it to the left, style it to the right, swoop it down" he reminds me of my brother......he has a really good perspective on natural hair....I respect his honesty....the point about covering up something w/ the weave....I wore weave for years without ever showing my real hair...I went natural to finally try to grow my own healthy hair...it wasnt easy because it changes how people view you and how you view yourself...I needed that change though

  • i like this vid! hes funny and what hes sayin is REAL TALK at the same time.

  • He made a lot of good points

  • how old is your brother???

  • He is so introspective. It's a beautiful thing to see, a young black man who is a thinker and not a pawn in a game he doesn't realize he's in. You have been such a shining example of black womanhood for him to see. Your parents did an exceptional job with you two. Thank you Rustic for being visible and sharing your knowledge. You are helping so many of us see our true beauty and that is so necessary.

  • you have a handsome brother. i like his honesty

  • Loved it! Thanks RusticBeauty!

  • Thanks for the post...he is both insightful and entertaining! LOL

  • "buy it straight out the bag, bam, its curly.....LOL!!!! he is too cute and charming!....valid points.

  • brush it down stylin 2 the left lol...hes a cutie

  • He made many wonderful and valid points...but that consistent joint got me! He is on point. Being natural forces you to face reality everday. When you look in the mirror theres no hiding when your natural...and its a truly incredible process. Natural hair brings about self-esteem in it's most organic form. I'm so thankful that the black community is slowly but surely embracing this natural movement. As 22yr old black female I've been natural for just over a year and I've become a happier person

  • ooh he sexy and telling the truth i like a man who can speak they mine then no wat they sayin lol

  • he is so funny true but funny

  • i had a hard time when i was growing my hair........guys wouldn't approach me when i had hair lol.........

    hes funny....

Ive got to ask my family these questions.....haha

  • oh I forgot to add he's a cutie....he blew kisses at the camera.....lmao...too funny....:)

  • hahahaha " they brush it to the life brush it to the right"

  • i liked his thought about a natural girl being consistant,, i thought that was deep.

  • lol that was funny

  • I know thats right....Smart man.

  • Haha Go Boy!!

  • OMG! That was hilarious! I have got to go through those questions with my brother and see what he says now. Thank you and thanks to him for sharing!

  • i have tears in my eyes OMG!!! its hard to make me laugh but i am crackin up over here you should be a comedian because you are tttooo funny, seriously!!!!

  • ur brother is too funny! and sexi.

  • You are not your hair

  • FRESH OUT THE BAG!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH TOO FUNNY! I love this vid! good job ;)

  • this was a great video! it made me roll on da ground all while giving a great perspective

  • ha ha lol ...love the video

  • he made alot of good points. Some women have self esteem issues but some just like it fresh out the bag. he was funny too. seems like my kind of man. lol

  • You hear that ladies? You gotta brush your hair down, style it to the left, style it to the right, swoop it up and swoop it down,

We go through all the hassle of looking nice for guys, and thats the best description we get......LMBAO, that is the cutest thing I heard all day

  • What a lovely young man, keep good young Prince.

  • Aaaww, you're brother is so cute. He seems like a very honest person and very deep too. I have a very twa now and this just gave me a boost of confidence bc I've been worrying about how I would look when I wear it out. And I like how he was honest that he probably wouldn't date a girl with a teen weeny afro. Great video. 10 stars.

  • Hotep little brother speaking the truth about our Queens

  • He is FINE. CUTE. SEXY

    LOL

  • He is too funny but so true!!! It is nice to hear a man's point of view.

  • haha i like some of his points...but he got me messed up on my twa! lmao jk jk

  • ya'll must live in Texas. He sounds like he's straight out of southwest Houston!
