Sea World Dolphin Encounter

Ever since I was a baby and ever since I was taken to sea world every summer and now I have always loved dolphins

I got to pet a dolphin at sea world once! It was really cool! They're really smooth! Definitely one of my favorite animals on the whole planet!

Dolphins are intelligent and social creatures that, in the wild, interact with hundreds of pod-mates, hunt communally, and have entire coastlines as their playground. In captivity, all of this is lost. Social partners are restricted to a handful of tank-mates. Captive dolphins are fed dead fish (wild dolphins only catch and eat live fish; they never eat dead fish) and they face a profound reduction in space and stimulation.

@Aspoor101 lol there's no trainer-- at sea world, they had an area where you can go pet dolphins

this is inhumane, many dolphins are captured from the wild (yes, even seaworld has dolphins wild-caught dolphins) they are deprived their sense of echo-location, stimulation and the companionship of a pod. Plus petting pools are just dangerous-for the dolphins!

I wanted to do a little dolphin thing when I visited Honolulu for my college band trip this past spring. But it was expensive. Didn't have enough time to find somewhere to do it either.

Oh yeah, by the way, Hawaii is an awesome place.

this is sick... they catch the dolphins an put them in such tanks and try to pursuade people that the dolphins are happy....but of cause they are not...they belong to the wild. this pictures are really aweful, and the the funny thing is that people are to blind to see that the fastination about that animal cost them their lives and families!
