  • i wanna bang the girl at 0:51

  • That picture of Pelosi scared me.

  • wow so much hate, Savage has hit the regressives too close to home

  • Mussolini was raised to be a good socialist. Goebbels talks himself about how Nazism is like Leninism. We only call socialists "liberals" in America b/c the American people won't put up w/ an avowedly socialist politician. That is why they hide themselves behind euphemisms, like liberal & progressive. "Liberals" are dishonest socialists ( a redundancy I know). That modern socialist act the old socialist regimes of Russia, Germany & Italy is no surprise.

  • Burn talk radio? Like NPR? While Fox News gets free cash and reign to order people like George Tiller and Tides killed while being invested in by Saudi Oil Tycoons/terrorists.

  • Oh that horrid San Francisco, which named a street after Cesar Chavez, which, conservatives, especially in Texas, want to erase his name from school textbooks, along with Rosa Parks, and MLK.

  • @psynema shut up libreal

  • @TheRivetthead Conservatives can't spell, no wonder they don't like teachers...not their fault at all, no personal responsibility, just blame teachers who give you an F for spelling Liberal 'libreal"

  • @psynema scroo you commie

  • @TheRivetthead Communists: Anti abortion, anti labor rights, anti gay, anti environmental safety, extreme militarism...who does that sounds like? The Red Party protests too much

  • Banning Harry Potter, and Ironically Fahrenheit 451, burning Qurans done by who? Conservatives! And Savage's books are garbage, it's called capitalism, your books don't sell (cut the crap with bestseller) so it goes behind the shelf to make room for something more people want to read. Do you want the government to force Borders to put a stack of your books at the front entrance?

  • no one wants to burn books you muckraking piece of shit

  • Savage wants us to think it's the left wing who are the problem, but it's the right wing who wants to burn books.

  • Even political and social thought that the marxists consider politically incorrect are banned. In England Shakespeare is baned from many schools. But they don't call it banning they say Shakespeare was not politically correct in some of his views so he is left out of the booklist.

  • Farenheit 451 was published in 1953, you dolt! And publishing houses today like Random House are losing competition to downloadable books on the internet and Kindle readers, not because certain books are being banned. This is the free-market capitalism you boast about on your show. If you can't take life in California, why the hell don't you move?

  • Not lawlessness. Its total society control. Dumb down society to the LCD by destroying knowledge. Mindlessly control people into believing whatever the government wants them to believe. There's no rebellion in the streets. People take government's word for everything. Fighting in never-ending wars that millions are sent to die for no reason. Everything is made into some kind of twisted show that glorifies violence. No education. No news. No internet.

Sounds like the society YOU want to create.

  • How many times does this Jew swine mention, jew, holocaust, hitler, jew, israel, nazi, jew, israel....on his show, everyday!

This Jew swine is not a Real American! He's a Israel First and only...He just want the USA to be israels lapdog and fight her wars, give her money, etc. etc...

  • @removetube stfu nazi

  • @removetube I didn't hear him mention Jew? Get off the internet dipshit.

  • @Daniel is a Dumbass, : This video is Not his whole show, is it shit for brains? But, the jew michael weiner savage in the first few seconds says "Fascist, Hitler, Swastika, like a good jew swine...AMERICA First!, Not! israel first!

  • @removetube well censoring books and refusing to publish them because of their content is an element of fascism isn't it? Just because he says something is fascist, does not mean he is wrong. He is jewish, so of course he does support israel, but I have not heard him say anything that is even close to implying that he is putting Israel before America in his opinions.

  • @removetube Your a fag leave Savage alone cuntface.

  • @removetube everyone just ignore this guy he is obvious liberal, racist, and ignorant

  • @removetube Fuck off you nazi pig.

  • @removetube Fuck you jew nigger whore. Leave savage be you fucking cuntbag.

  • @UGLYDumbass., lol, fogot to take your Med's did we?! lol

  • @removetube dude dont critcise micheal you racist im anti zionist but you dont see me going oh jews are evil oh im gonna shoot micheal oh im gonna smoke weed and talk bad about jews all day go get a life you libreal facist

  • cook michael moore on a spit snapper

  • This guy is a total idiot.

  • @TheDrpretorious great argument. you really put some thought into that one.

  • hate all you want. If you where a fair person you could try to spend a few hours a week with an opinion that you dont agree with. Sadly your...(gasp) opinions might have a lttile credentials behind them.

it's sad...how FAR off the CONSERVATIVE base is....its even more sad how far off the republican party is.... (btw, most radio talk show hosts, dont consider them sleves "Republicans") Hate away internet land...hate away.

  • What a pathetic and transparently false attempt to bolster one's argument by bringing Ray Bradbury into it.

Savage is a fucking moron, exactly as is Keith Olbermann and Nancy Pelosi.

This country is drunk on its own sense of self-importance. There is no difference between the right wing and the left wing: both are made up of ideologues drunk on their own self-importance and conviction that anyone who doesn't agree with them is stupid and evil.

Fuck both the Republicans and the Democrats!

  • Spoken like a liberal fascist.

  • Fuck you, Republitard.

  • Heh! Heh! Thanks for proving my point. SIEG HEIL! ALL HAIL OBAMA!

  • @DeathToAllReligions Why "Death to all religions?"

  • @Judah7Victor

Same reason I'd like to see death to all political parties: because ideology is blinding.

Religion is nothing but organized superstition that has kept mankind at each others' throats for centuries with bullshit promises of life eternal in paradise. Christians are no less deluded than Muslim jihadis, but at least they're less violent (for now).

Same with politics. Left & right-wing platforms are all-encompassing bullshit promising earthly paradise if followed, ignoring history.

  • I agree with you regarding so much you have said (and I am not being patronizing.) I do not attend any denominational church(they are organized bondage.) I do try to study from

the manuscripts who Yahshua is, and who YHWH is- to the best of my understanding. Other "systems" either do not offer ultimate answers, or have original documents that are contradictory. I ask you (and you have probably heard this before) to look at the historical/Scriptural person of Yahshua/Jesus Christ.

  • @Judah7Victor Goody. I love a good arguement. You are deluding yourself if you think Jesus (or the bible) has been any less corrupted than any other religious figure or religious work. Pick any statement from a so-called original document that you say is not contradicted by others (concering Jesus) and I'll show you what you missed.

  • @hotmailpoet sorry to jump into your discussions but i have studied the subject you guys talking about. My grandmothers old bible state that noah brougt 12- 17 of every clean animal and 2 of every unclean. the new bibles never mention 12-17 of the clean and 2 of every unclean, it only says 2 of every animal. and that is only a gap between 30-40 years between those bibles and its a 2000 year old book. just sharing my discoveries and opinons have a good day

  • @wonamik That is only one of the very many "changes" that TPTB have made to the Bible, and all religious documents from all religions are the same. I, too, have studied the Bibble extensively, and religion generally, over the last few years. It can be summed up thusly: All religions say man is imperfect. All religions were passed to the next generation{s} by men. What was passed on was imperfect. Simple logic, even from a spiritual standpoint.

  • so basically what ur saying is communism, much like the USSR. the same that killed millions to promote atheism. u think religion is violent? no. ppl are violent, even if u get rid of religion u will still have those craving power or wanting resources and killing to get them. the extremists would still be extremists without religion, they would fall prey to other brainwashing. this is the nature of human kind. i'm willin to bet u believe in evolution. then look at chimps, they wage wars.

  • @DeathToAllReligions Are you an athiest anarchist?( just asking)

  • @Hellwing555 Not an anarchist. Not by a mile.

  • Liberals are against free speech? I guess that's why right wing religious nut jobs like Sarah Palin are always trying to ban books. That also explains why the ACLU defended the Westboro Baptist Church's right to free speech.

  • what book did Sarah Palin try to ban?

  • She didn't try to ban any specific book. She asked the librarian in Wasilla how she would go about banning a book.

  • oh right that thing. forgot about that

  • That is an outright lie and slander. The librarian voluntarily left. Palin was asking about wha the librarian would od concerning pornographic books that promoted pedophelia and illegal acts. Thats protected under free speech as much as yelling fire fire in a crowded theater.

  • Like you'd fucking know.

  • Glad Glenn Beck and Michael Savage exposing your failed viewpoint is pissing you off. Mission accomplished.

Now go take your medication and have sex with your animals.

  • Too bad you're so lonely up there in communist Maine. Maybe you should go to Alabama with the rest of the racist jesus-faggots so you won't be so lonely.

On the other hand, your mule would miss his regular ass-pounding. Be sure to take him with you.

  • Oh, and a Democrat is now in the white house.

    That's "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!"

Learn what it mean to lose, douchebag!

    HAHAHAHAHA!

  • A democrat I might add who is ruining this country and acting as a visual aid to the rest of america

Double digit unemployment and sk rocketing debt Since then.

You know its true, liberalism is a mental disorder. In DTAR's case, more of mental retardation

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I just LOVE IT when a republitard like you takes it deep and hard up your ignorant ass!

Nothing like going through life as a high school dropout who sucks Glenn Beck's cock.

    LOL!!!

Enjoy the complete communist takeover of maine. Even the lobsters are LAUGHING AT YOU!!

    Twink!

  • Palin is a one-woman stupid cunt festival and if every single republitard voted for her, we'll still end up with The National Lawn Jockey in the white house.

Go suck some more Glenn Beck cock, or are you smoking moose cock now that the hunting season is over?

  • I never said anything about how the librarian lost her job first of all, yet you seem to think I was implying that she was fired by palin.

Second of all, where did you here that the books she had in mind promoted pedophilia?

  • savage is right. Take for example the many history books, many of whom published by McGraw Hill, that contain numerous historical innacuracies to put a bad spin on American history. And our children grow up incompetent because of it. Well, at least they're allowed to read books about gay penguins

  • @robinurhood1 No, he's not right. There's so much more to Farenheit 451 than just burning books. Its blasting reality TV and shows like Cops. Its blasting being spoon-fed information by hate-mongering individuals who love to exploit the fears of their viewers, and only show a very small portion of reality (Rush and Savage). Its about picking leaders based on appearance and not credentials. Its about those who blast the 'elite and intellectuals' (like Savage. Exhibit A Control Freak).

  • you getting a library card and studying history is our only hope- an educated citizenry is the only reliable defense against tyranny.

but then again, your mindset, the xenophobic, intolerant, fear-based one you possess, is dying off. You are a dying breed. stay a dinosaur, or evolve and join the rest of us- we are moving beyond your world of fear and hatred.

    viva shakespeare!!

  • tristram: "getting a library card and studying history is our only hope"

    Very true.

"an educated citizenry is the only reliable defense against tyranny."

    Bravo, mon ami! Bravo!

Except this seems to contradict the implications of your other beliefs. Namely the ones expressing the desire for the concentration of government, the loss of personal liberty, and a reversion to the governments and dictatorships of the last five thousand years.

    Please, do explain.

  • I'll explain right after you show me where I advocated for those things. Oh yeah, I didn't- it's just that your small, closed-mind is incapable of stepping outside that small, closed world of right wing generalizations.

Get a fucking library card kid. PLEASE!!!

  • tristram: "right after you show me where I advocated for those"

No one ever said you advocated them. In fact, if you recall, after the sentence 'What would you rather?' several contrary positions were listed.

    Good job?

"It's just that your small, closed-mind is incapable of stepping outside that small, closed world of right wing generalizations"

I hope you see the irony of this sentence :)

  • You wrote that I advocated for govt control of the private sector. You were incorrect to do so- but I understand- today's right wing mindset hears someone criticize corporate greed, and the assumption that that person is a marxist or socialist is therefore a given. It's nice, but it isn't ACCURATE.

But hey, why let accuracy get in the way of a perfectly useless discourse?

I hope you are 1/8th as happy as myself!

  • trist: "You wrote that I advocated for gvt control of the private sector. You were incorrect"

    Glad I was.

"today's right wing mindset hears someone criticize corporate greed, and...[assumes] that person is a marxist"

That's nice, but a straw man to the nth degree. What a person hears when they believe something to be socialist is when a politician argues in favor of government control of the economy, industry, healthcare or the private sector.

Nice try but no cigar ;)

  • tristram: "Get a fucking library card kid. PLEASE!!!"

Ah the anger of a child. Can't answer a question? Throw a tantrum.

    How cute :)

Maybe you should try to develop an intelligent and relevant rebuttal to arguments and assertions rather than telling everyone to get a library card. It might do you well in the long run.

  • ask me anything. I will answer honestly.

  • trist: "ask me anything. I will answer honestly."

I appreciate it, but so far you haven't answered any questions. Every time you're asked to substantiate your position you respond with something about library cards or right-wing nut job-ism.

  • You don't even know what a liberal is. You don't know ANYTHING- that's why you are so easily manipulated and taken advantage of.

Our country has been systematically RAPED by corporate boardrooms, and you, in your amazing, endless ignorance, want to blame gays, hollywood and immigrants.

You're a JOKE, your politics are a joke- based in nothing but fear and ignorance.

turn off the right wing hate radio and get a fucking library card dude!!!

  • tristram: "Our country has been systematically RAPED by corporate boardrooms"

And your solution is what? To have a government take over of all business and industry? Talk about creating the ultimate monopoly.

Human nature doesn't change, whether it's in a corporate boardroom or the halls of Congress.

But then again, who would expect an intellectual like you to understand these things?

    Au revoir, mon petit chou!

  • my solution is education and media reform.

    what's yours?

  • tristram: "my solution is education and media reform."

How cute, and yet utterly meaningless and irrelevant.

You were talking about our country being raped by corporate board rooms and what was wrong with the right wing, not public education and the media.

    Nice try though :)

  • If you don't see the ling between corporate oligarchy and an uninformed, undereducated citizenry, then you do not understand govt and how they operate.

The issues I brought up are inextricably linked together. I'm sorry you can't see how true that is.

If you aren't advocating media and education reform, you are NOT hitting at the ROOT causes of our national problems.

Oh yeah, most of our founders would agree with me. Go read Jefferson, Franklin, etc. They all understood what I'm talking about

  • trist: "If you don't see the ling between...etc."

Amazing you always fail to give an argument for your position. Assertions are quite meaningless in themselves, I assure you.

"aren't advocating media and education reform"

What type of media and education reform? It'd be nice if you provided clear, coherent, concrete answers to these types of questions.

Or are you incapable of doing so?

  • media reform= breaking up corporate media monopolies, introducing real localism and diversity. THAT is the needed media reform IF we want a republic.

Education reform= right now, our education system functions as little more than an indoctrination factory which instills a hyper-pseudo patriotism, while teaching kids almost zero critical thinking skills and world knowledge.

Part of that reform involves paying teachers a LOT more money- to increase competition for these jobs.

  • trist: "media reform= breaking up corporate media monopolies, introducing real localism and diversity"

I'm glad you've tried your hand at argumentation, though you've missed the mark a bit. You got the 'what', now it's time for the 'how' and 'why'.

How do we introduce diversity and "localism"? Give the government free reign to pick and choose who can speak and who cannot?

    continued..

  • trist: ..continued

"Education reform= right now, our education system functions as little more than an indoctrination factory which instills a hyper-pseudo patriotism"

A lot of fluff with no real substance.

How do you instill "hyper-pseudo patriotism"? Students are instilled with an extreme, emotional passion about their country, that they don't actually feel because it's false?

    "thinking skills"

True. That's the problem with teaching to the lowest kid in the class.

  • trist: "most of our founders would agree with me"

I'd like to say I understood what you were talking about but you haven't even stated your positions. You've jumped from one subject to the next, avoiding any and all debate.

Where, how and why would the founders agree with you? And what would they agree with?

Please, concrete examples and clear explanations.

  • Lincoln spoke of an era of corporate greed that would destroy the republic.

Jefferson said education, of EVERY citizen, was the only defense against tyranny.

Paine believed in taxing the rich to help sustain the poor.

And MANY (washington and jefferson among them) believed that a standing army was a threat to the republic.

I have more..... do YOU have anything of value to discuss?

The floor is yours. Don't spill the milk.

  • trist: "Jefferson said education, of EVERY citizen, was the only defense against tyranny"

I'm not sure why you keep going back to this, especially since we both agree, but mostly because it's irrelevant to the debate.

"Paine believed in taxing the rich to help...the poor"

As did Franklin. But the question here is: So?

Don't argue from authority. It's foolish.

"a standing army was a threat"

    True, but irrelevant.

Try to get back to media and education reform, not haphazard bullet points.

  • Yes, by all means, I apologize for proving myself right. How dare I back up my assertions with specifics.

I'm tired of you. You add NOTHING of substance, and if I want someone to (mindlessly) criticize everything I say, I HAVE a girlfriend. AT least she'll blow me after a dumbass argument. I neither expect, nor desire, such satisfaction from this idiotic waste of thyme.

I hope you enjoy life (without hurting others). I sure do!!!!

  • trist: "I back up my assertions with specifics"

Which specifics? The bombastic ones claiming education to be nothing more than indoctrination of pseudo patriotism?

    Brilliant.

    "proving myself right"

Which you haven't yet done, have you? Every time you're asked to confront a specific question and give a clear answer you bring in "specifics" and "examples" from completely irrelevant topics. A standing army, taxing the poor, etc.

Try to stay on topic, maybe you'll be a little less flustered.

  • trist: "You add NOTHING of substance, and if I want someone to (mindlessly) criticize everything I say, I HAVE a girlfriend"

If you think being asked to state and prove your positions with coherent arguments is mindless criticism, then I think we've found the root cause of your acute retardation. It's called blind, un-reflective dogmatism.

    "I HAVE a girlfriend"

At least you have a sense of humor :)

  • I was actually about to respond to you, but i6t's clear you have nothing to say. It's nice that you go around our-tube telling people how smart yo are without ever saying anything of substance.

I already pity the next schmuck you entangle in your ridiculous web of stupid discourse.

You have no understanding of the society you live in.

    Have a great life.

    Love

    tristram shandy, gentleman

  • trist: "how smart yo are without every saying anything of substance"

Hmm, funny, a mirror might come in handy.

All you were asked to do was substantiate your positions with arguments. I'm sorry you were unable to do so.

"but i6t's clear you have nothing to say"

It's unfortunate that intelligent debate was beyond you.

I'll take this as an admission of your defeat.

  • trist: "I have more..... do YOU have anything of value to discuss?"

I'm sorry if I missed it, but where exactly was the statement of your positions and your arguments for them?

Giving a list of figures who may have believed in the same things as you doesn't count as substantiation of your positions. It doesn't give a foundation or reason for your beliefs.

I don't mean to sound like a smartass.

  • Read Jefferson's writings on education. Read Paine's Common Sense. Read Lincoln's speeches. You will find reference after reference to the things I mentioned- especially the power of an informed citizenry- that was central to many of our founders.

I'm glad I'm able to help educate you- but I have a question: do you have any of your own ideas, or do you spend all day criticizing others on our-tube?

You're still adorable though! Keep up the good work!?

  • trist: "You will find reference after reference to the things I mentioned"

I'm sorry, I guess you missed the point: you weren't asked to produce a list of topics that both you and the founders touched upon. You were asked to give clear, concise and coherent arguments explaining how, where and why the founders agreed with your positions.

The positions, I should add, you've yet to really identify beyond pitiably vague summaries.

  • trist: "in your amazing, endless ignorance, want to blame gays, hollywood and immigrants"

Alas, there are those closed minded, ignorant generalizations again.

    You're quite good at them.

"You're a JOKE, your politics are a joke- based in nothing but fear and ignorance"

Is that so? Dear me, what a shame.

You still haven't answered the question, mon ami.

  • what question?

  • trist: "don't even know what a liberal is"

A classical liberal, or a modern liberal? I dare say you fall neatly into the second category, universes away from the first.

  • I enjoy your nonsense. Please continue responding without SAYING anything. Wonderful!

  • trist: 'continue responding w/o SAYING anything'

You're beyond help if you didn't understand what was said.

Out of generosity, though, I'll explain what you found so difficult: You said 'you don't know what a liberal is', I asked 'A classical or a modern liberal?'

A modern liberal is a political 'progressive', someone who believes in the centralization of the government. -- A classical liberal is someone who was well traveled, educated and/or who believed in individual rights and liberty.

  • I dare say you like to talk but not to think.

  • I do not subscribe to YOUR definitions of what a modern liberal is. Who told you that and why did you listen to them?

The modern liberal is ALSO well-educated, well traveled, and believes in the strength of education as the ONLY sustainable defense against tyranny (see jefferson!)

On a bright note, I actually found 2 questions that you asked. That was fun.

Life is the best. Seriously,. I was probably the 9th happiest person alive this weekend. Out of 6 billion, I'd say that's pretty good!

  • trist: "I do not subscribe to YOUR definition of what a modern liberal is"

For all the emphasis you put on education you seem to miss the ball quite a bit: a modern liberal has hardly anything to do with actual liberalism itself.

Liberalism was the belief in the individual, his rights, liberty and happiness.

Modern liberalism believes in the strength of government, welfare, state power, etc. Modern liberalism is not demarcated by education or enlightenment.

    continued..

  • trist: ..continued

"The modern liberal is ALSO well-educated, well traveled...etc."

Not quite: the modern liberal was born out of the neo-progressive generation. The generation believing, unfortunately, in state handouts and welfare. Hence their support for national healthcare, etc.

"I was probably the 9th happiest person alive this weekend"

    Good for you?

  • Ignorant

  • epic fail

  • "I have no fear that the result of our experiment will be that men may be trusted to govern themselves without a master." Thomas Jefferson

Sadly, I have fear these days.

  • Jefferson believed in an educated citizenry. He believed the state had a responsibility to educate everyone. Our education system has failed- nothing else.

  • I'm all for everyone getting proper education. Do you think government has the solutions?

  • I think our govt is broken, so no, I don't think they have the solutions.

  • Nazism had some leftwing elements, and quite a few from the right...as one youtuber put it, Nazism was a "Distorted, sociopathic hybred."

One thing for sure: Hitler would have both liberal democrats and conservative republicans shot...his regime was based on fanatical nationalism (Germany alone) and extreme racism, & its doubtful modern day Americans, or Americans from the 1930s, would fit neatly into either catagory.

  • Hitler was in a class of his own. (I mean that in a bad way. For him.)

  • Air America Media, Air Amer Radio, specialized in Liberal talk. The network started programming on March 31, 2004. On October 13, 2006 mounting debts forced Air America Radio to file Chap 11 bankruptcy. The filing had over 25 pages of creditors and showed that the company lost US$9.1 million in 2004, US$19.6 million in 2005 and an additional US$13.1 million by mid-October in 2006. LiberalTalk now needs a bailout? Face it Trist there is NO market for progressive talk radio. The People have spoken.

  • no, you must be right. there is no market for liberal radio- does that mean that liberals have better things to do all day than listen to talking points?

we can at least agree, with our recent electoral history, that the country is left of center now.

You guys can have radio- we will continue winning elections (and when I say we, I mean corporations, because the democraps are also bought and paid for by big business)

    take care kid.

    conquer your sorrows :)

  • Let's talk about censorship: because of the 1996 telecommunications act, a company like clear channel went from owning 40 radio stations to over 1,200 radio station. This company held pro-troop rallies, and fired a disc jockey who expressed anti-war views.

MTV, that cable network, banned every song that mentioned the word "war".

    Let's talk about censorship.

Why does every American know the name rush limbaugh or ann coulter, but very few know the names amy goodman or howard zinn?

  • It is the right that is the main proponent of censorship. The religious right censors gays, atheists; they want to determine what is MORAL and what we should have access to.

Then, we have the military-industrial complex. They censor the media and dissent.

The left is ALL ABOUT intellectual honesty. The right is ALL ABOUT fear mongering and ignorance.

  • Also, I have known of several cases of censorship and being banned- all of them done by CORPORATIONS- clear channel, msnbc- they banned anti-war voices (dixie chicks, donahue) before the iraqi invasion.

let's have a REAL conversation about who supports the suppression of ideas in our society- because it AIN'T the left :)

  • Wrong trist, who wants the fairness doctrine? The left does. Bradbury's novel details the eternal war between censorship & freedom of thought & continues to be relevant today. In Bradbury's future, books are illegal & happily so-citizens are too busy watching their wall-sized TVs & listening to their in-ear radios to care about the loss of good literature.

    95% of intellectuals are lefties?

You're funny. I enjoy how you make up crap & expect the average person to buy into it. Bye-bye.

  • yes, and an anti-intellectual society that stares mindlessly at their televisions all day serves the interest of the power structure. It has NOTHING to do with critiquing liberalism at all.

and yes, intellectuals are overwhelmingly liberal. Why do you think all the professors are the first to get killed when right wing fascists takes over?

I've spoken with you before. I will not be wasting more of my precious, wonderful time doing that.

I hope you conquer your ignorance some day :)

  • tris tris where do YOU get your information? I know your imagination works over time, but that last remark is false, also. You will know need to give a proper link and a MLS citation to verify your 'source.' Night.

  • I LOVE how the right revises history and tries to take left-wing heroes, and make them their own. I JUST read fahrenheit 451- it is PRO-liberalism- in its pursuit of knowledge. Again, academia and 95% of intellectuals are leftist- not right.

Have a great day. And keep stealing our left wing heroes- paine, bradbury, jefferson, etc.

  • Paine + Jefferson were heavily into limited gov't + less federal regulation. I know that both were deists / skeptics + as one myself I admire them for that; but everything else about them seems to put them on the right. There was no left back then as it exists today, with the bailouts + free health expectations. Haven't read the 451 book but I see your point.

  • Jefferson believed that the education of ALL the citizens was the ONLY lasting defense against tyranny. That strikes me as an inherently liberal view of the world- one which prizes knowledge and study.

Jefferson was a great intellectual, and as most intellectuals, he was predominately liberal.

Educate everyone, no standing armies- gee, kind of sounds like left wing talking points.

Also, go read Bradbury's book. It is excellent- especially his satire of our television addictions.

    take care

  • "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson

P.S. A bonus quote. "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." - Thomas Jefferson.

That last quote sounds like modern Democrats.

  • Jefferson believed, as I do, that the ONLY defense against tyranny was a well educated citizenry.

Today, in the USA, we do NOT have a well educated citizenry, and the powers that be are taking FULL advantage of that.

There is an education EMERGENCY in the USA today, and if it isn't fixed soon, we are finished.

all your screaming about liberals and immigrants and gays won't make two shits of difference either.

You are mad- but you are mad at the WRONG things.

    have a nice life :)

  • The government doesn't know how to solve education. The only thing I'm mad about or at is the government. I'm for small government. Everything else is an assumption on your part. (Kinda hurts my feelings you would assume I'm against gays and immigrants. You obviously don't know me. But I feel like it was some sort of an attack for whatever reason.) I'm also against fascism. Anyone who says,"We believe in freedom of speech as long as you say what we say. Otherwise you are the enemy!"

  • why are you mad at the govt? The govt works on behalf of big business. If you don't like what the govt does, why aren't you mad at the industries they work for?

When I mentioned immigrants and gays, I was generalizing about republicans- most of them think those are serious issues. I'm glad yuo aren't a TOTAL moron.

Your anger at the govt is a diversion- the real enemy is corporate America.

  • Well, for the record, I'm not a Republican either. I'm not for the Democratic Party or Republican Party. Well, I'm glad I'm not a TOTAL moron. You're not a TOTAL moron either. I'm glad we can have political discussions without resorting to name calling and just talk about the issues whether we agree or not. Friendly discussions are always welcome. If the government works on the behalf of big business, then why do they choose to do so? That would be the government's fault. Why is weed illegal?

  • they choose to do so because "you gotta dance with them whut brung ya" (title to a Molly Ivins book). This isn't rocket science- corporations pay for our elections, then our representatives work on behalf of their donors. Three little words: follow the money :)

Weed is illegal primarily because of control. Alcoholics are easy to control- marijuana stimulates critical, creative thought- NOT what you want in a complacent, depoliticized consumer culture of ignoramuses.

    That's my theory

  • I do agree it is nonsense to make a big issue about gays when it comes to politics. The way I look at it, I'm not gay so why does it even matter to me? I think the "hate crimes" bill (I forget the name) is silly to me. Any act of violence to anyone, regardless of age, sex, race, sexual orientation, etc. is a hate crime as far as I'm concerned. Why do they categorize people like that? The immigrant issue, I can care less about personally. I say bring more Mexican woman over here for me to seduce!

  • It's not nonsense at all- it's smart politics. the gay issue got W elected again in 2004= 10 states had gay marriage initiatives on their ballots- including OHIO.

Thank goodness it doesn't work so well anymore.

  • Can anyone tell me why academia is overwhelmingly liberal? Why is it that our most intelligent citizens, the ones that study history and philosophy, are mostly liberal? What is it about study and knowledge that tends to make people leftist?

    I am curious about this.

  • Comment removed

  • tristram: "Can anyone tell me why academia is overwhelmingly liberal? Why is it that our most intelligent citizens, the ones that study history and philosophy, are mostly liberal?"

Unfortunately we can't count you among the learned: this is akin to saying "Why is it that our most intelligent citizens, the ones who study science, philosophy and nature, all believe in geocentrism?"

Don't argue from authority. It makes you look foolish.

  • Don't call someone stupid without being able to refute or even address the substance of an argument or theory.

it makes you look like a right winger.

  • tristram: "Don't call someone stupid without being able to refute or even address the substance of an argument or theory."

    Still avoiding the issue, eh?

The fallacy of your argument was pointed out, and a parallel argument was given as an example of its absurdity.

I'm sorry it went over your head.

  • catagorizing people as specifically liberal or specificaly conservative, then showing loyalty to only one way of thought is just one way peoply allow corrupt political parties to gain control of government. Instead of blaming everything on Liberalism, or blaming it all on Conservativism, try finding what the true faults are and correcting them. Partisanship is for the mentally feeble

  • Anybody actually read this book--as I did? Bradbury, having seen Hitler and Stalin, was afraid of totalitarianism.

Totalitarianism is neither liberal nor conservative--it is power hungry.

  • you must remember that Mussolini started out as a socialist and was a part of the party for 12 years, when he supported the first world war in the name of preserving socialism he was rejected by the Bolsheviks and from then on out leftys labeled any ultra right authority and thus the start of fascism being seen as a right wing institution. further more one must remember that weather right or left fascism for swift dramatic CHANGE above all else. you must remember fascism is anti-right and left

  • The author of that book is from my town. What I read, from her, was that the book wasn't even anti-muslim, it was about Aisha. Liberals banning liberal books, they are so stupid.

  • clinton encouraged freddy may and burnymac to use sub-prime mortgages which if im not mistaken is the cause of our current economic situation which makes clinton the dumbest president we have ever had. Our country was founded on religion and didnt have any major problems untill it was attacked. What conservatives want is for dumb fuckers like you to leave us alone and not force you views on us. Did Bush make people buy hoses that they couldnt afford?

  • Bush is no conservative

  • "Liberal fascism" is an oxymoron. It was LIBERALS who fought fascism in the 30s and 40s, not conservatives.

And under Dumbya Boosh, the federal government grew by 22%. Under Clinton, it was only 7%. Under Dumbya Boosh, we now have economic ruin and America's largest fiscal deficit in history. When Clinton left office, we had the largest surplus. Also, conservatives tend to be religious fundamentalists who want government to act as a moral nanny. It is conservatives who are fascist.

  • You need to go back and brush up on your history and read 'Liberal Fascism' by Jonah Goldberg. Hitler did not fight fascism, he branded Naziism after it, a much more fascistic version of it. He distorted the Christian faith, replacing God with himself. Hilter by all counts was a liberal progressive, not a conservative! Of course you voted for Obama. The same fools helped Hitler rise to power.

  • You're a moron of the first order if you think Hitler was a liberal progressive. Doesn't surprise me, really. You're a symptom of the "Dumbing Down of America" under Dumbya Bush the past 8 years. You also probably think the earth is only 6000 years old, just like that other idiot, Sarah Palin. Republicans live in a bizzare fantasy world.

  • And you are a brainwashed Masshole from Assachesetts. I know your type all too well unfortunately, I grew up in that corrupt liberal mecca. You want to talk dumbing down of America- thank Teddy, Kerry, and all the other moonbats who have monopolized the state & the public educational system. Just shows how STUPID you are to think the school system was dumbed down by W. The NEA has had liberal stranglehold on education for the last four decades. I made it out it time, you were dumbed down!

  • It wasnt liberals who fought fascism in Germany it was communist.

  • It was french and english liberalism that allowed hitler 1936 to march with his (then) puny reichswehr into the demilitarised rhineland. They could have crushed him then within 24 hours. the didnt. It again was british liberalism (Neville Chamberlain ) that made the 1938 Munich treaty (appeasement) possible. 55 Million paid the price for that. Not the liberals fought and died in normandy. Thousends of poor fellows died their, cause of liberalism in wrong time and wrong place

  • Neville Chamberlain was a conservative. It was the European right who supported fascism and Hitler, dumbass. It was the liberal-left who opposed it.

  • Calling your self conservative doesent make you conservative. They all behaved like wimpy cowards. liberal left ... stupid little leftwing you are. Hitler started as a leftwing. or what do you think does NAZI stand for? it stands for national-socialist. Hitler first marched with the communists in munich. there are pictures of him marching under the red banner, but he thougth them not radical enough for him, so he created his own "socialistic" party.

  • Hitler was not a leftist. The Nazis fought leftists on the streets. You also probably believe that the earth is only 6000 years old, that humans and dinosaurs lived together, that stem cells are actual human beings, and everything the Bible says is literal truth. Typical wacky nutjob right-winger.

  • I didnt say he was .. i sayd he started as a leftist. A kind of unresponsed love. But his methods were quite clear leftist. Socialise everything were noone resists,, and kiss bonze asses where you need to. And never forget .. kill each and everyone who refuses to do the kotow to you. by the way ... your "insults" dont hit. i am a atheist, democrat and .. uhh .. one of thoose you would call "Centre" i am not right and not left. i fight both of you

  • Hitler wasn't a leftist....??...that was the national Socialist party of Hitler's...

  • it was indeed called "the National Socialist German workers party", and it did indeed have hardcore socialists like Ernst Rohm. Hitler had Rohm and the other socialists killed in "the night of long knives", from then on the Nazis only goals were rearming the German Military, trying to conquer all of Europe and building a German World Empire.

  • Hitler used the mass appeal of socialism to rise to power.

  • I know that very well. Germany was in a depression, people were starving, and German workers liked the idea of socialism. Yet as Hitler was preaching about socialism, he was also making deals with the richest industrialists in Germany, Hitler was one of the most two-faced people who ever existed.

  • oh yes how could i forget this..and also murdering the Jews, Gypsies, Communists, Homosexuals, and anybody else who didn't qualify as "Aryan".

  • i've been a habitue for more than a decade at "progressive" book stores across the country, and they never give his books prominent placement; in fact, they go to some length to hide his books in aisles or categories seldom frequented.

  • I bought "The Enemy Within" online the other day, those scumbags can't hide books then. Makes you wonder if they actually want business.
