I just successfully completed this mod. I'm not sure if the electronics have changed on the 4 in 1's, but I was not able to get the main motor to function properly until I used the Aux 1 channel for my Throt lead to the 4 in 1. The reason this works is because Aux 1 is used for Pitch, and Pitch has the same output as Throt.
This was done with a newer HBFP V2, DX7 and an AR6110e
I'm having trouble getting power to the AR6110e - any thoughts?
I have the main and tail motor wires from the 4 in 1 going to the receivers throt and rudd terminals & have the bind plug on. The 4 in 1 (I guess now a 3 in 1) is powering up, but the receiver is not.
I have an image of my set up if you're willing to take a peak
What is happening with your motor? Is it not turning on, is the rotation incorrect, can you check if the ESC is arming? Also give me an idea of your skill level. Thx.
The motor is not turning on at all. The ESC seems to be arming (LED is constant green). The aileron and elevator servos seem to be working correctly. I'd probably classify my skill level as intermediate.
Assuming your using a brushed motor (stock or after market) try taking a non-recharable D battery and connect the motor to it to confirm that the motor is not the problem.
Is the tail motor turning on? If it is you can also try swapping the main motor and tail connectors and see if both motors work and if the problem might be the 4in1's main motor esc.
Also try running the motor by itself (disconnected from the pinion & gears) to see if that resistance to the gears might be an issue. GL
Thanks Tony. Your the tonyastro from rcgroups right? I still need to fix up my W52. I need to install my IMAX192 gyro after giving up on the Logictech.
Connect the bind plug only during binding to the TX otherwise remove it. Do not connect the main battery to the RX especially if the voltage is not 3.5-9.6V. You connect the battery to the ESC then power is supplied to the RX through the ESC connector. The 3 pins have +, ground and signal and are bridged on the RX side, so the servos get power from the ESC. Main motor connects to THRO and if you have a tail ESC that goes to RUDD.
you have the binding blug connected to the batt slot on the reciever. So what I was wondering is, Which slot do you have the battery or speed control itself hooked to in the reciever? Is it hooked into the throttle slot on the reciever?
what main frame are u using on this?

Turns out the servo extension wires I had were goofy - the red and black wires swapped places at the terminals - so for instance.

Once I reworked it I was able to get power to the Rx.
Thx!

I did this today, and everything seems to be working correctly except for the motor. Everything is plugged in correctly. Anyone got any tips?
