@ASepticTank i actually am not aware of any but they are out there. there is no room in the mainstream market for so much music. the music blossoming in the past 10 years that are of great importance are part of the freak folk movement. Cocorosie, Devendra Banhart, Scout Niblet. The black angels, King Crimson. Actually scout nibblet has some heavy stuff. its a woman who makes all kinds of great music. i dont listen to pink floyd for rock. whats great about them is psychedelia. love alex.
@ASepticTank the world is a grim confusing place, but it doesnt have to be. rock music wont satisfy you forever, there are feelings to be reconciled and new vistas of creativity to be explored. the task of the future is to illuminate peoples minds so that we can actually do something about the world that is apparently so much bigger than us. fucking love pink floyd.
@feztizieo Haha, okay. i listen to classical (romantic era and concertos mostly too) music as well, but i cant stand anything similar to pop. what is freak folk?
The day the wall came down/The ship of fools runs aground. WHAT?? David Gilmour has been a member of Pink Floyd since 68 or 69 and none of Roger Waters lyrical sense seems to have had no influence on him. Any longtime Floyd fan will see this as just trite musical flourishment with lame Floydian ornamentations thrown in. . This is laughable. Roger Waters rightly called Gilmour a third rate song writer. He needs Waters and Waters needs Gilmours vocals to counterbalance his own limited range.
excellent work uploading this. I have the cd (I have all PF cds as everyone should) but of course it's great to have it on Youtube and in HD, no less.
Okay i get it, "wow I'm 16 ( 13 - 18 or what ever ) and i listen to this " you think that we all think that that's very awesome (sarcasm) , but anyone who listens to Pink Floyd has to find a song they like because they have an amazing veriety and takes you to a place inside your mind to think and meditate sort of... but you know all those people who will only listen to rap and all that pop crap and if you do you friggin crazy so wake up!! High Hopes , the last words on that song "forever and ever" , and it's the last song on the album, and it's the last album Pink Floyd produced, beautiful.
with pink floyd, ist not where you have been, it is where the music is going to take you. a transfluent journey of the mind, body and soul......lets all get ready to travel on with them.
today is my birthday...as a birthday present my parents told me to get a job and gtfo of their house asap ... this may be the last time i listen to this album ... thank you pink floyd
i grew up with pink floyd. ive always loved their music but i didnt explore more than dark side of the moon. well tonight i listoned to this one. i want to you know this album blew me away. it brought tears to my eyes.
i saw this concert live brodcasted when i was 7 years old. i even recorded it aka my vcr at the time. such a cool band!! the music is very mellow and enjoyable. its listening music, ear sex really. you enjoy it, you savor it. i went out and bough this album when i was seven years old. along with pulse. since i had the dark side of the moon at the age of 4. i saved up and bought a few more. i listen to all of thier music. it is all really good and should be respected as so.
You cannot refer to music, most of all Pink Floyd music, using terms as "better","worse","good","bad".Those words have nothing to do with music. It is not athletics. It is not kick boxing. It is music. You cannot "scale" the pleasure you feel by listening to music. If you try to,you will lose all that matters in music. Most of all, pink floyd music.
David Gilmour is one of my all-time favorite guitar players and singers. I am a bigger fan of the Gilmour Pink Floyd than Pink Floyd's older stuff. Though, seventies Pink Floyd will forever be classic.
listen to 'poles apart' on this album* like a delicous bourbon, the process of becoming a true 'floydian' may take years, but not to worry, the floyd gently guides you through thier fantastic saucer full of secrets, like high-intinsity ultra-sonic energy waves dedicated to producing goose bumps at warp speed
It's all good... Remember why you listen? You feel something, you feel connected to the sounds, the lyrics, the mood.... whatever it is, it is for you. Floyd appreciation brought us all here. lets enjoy the sound................ :)
Way to have an open mind idiot. Without mind altering drugs, this music wouldn't have been made. Period end of story. Every member of the band would think your statement is truly ignorant just like 99% of the people who come here to listen to this.
I wonder just how many who follow Pink Floyd's musical and lyrical talents actually know what they cleverly trying to pervade? I've listened to this album as with all the others many times confused at what they are actually talking about; but once one can see and "break-down" the incredibly deceitful "WALL" which has been Stealthily and "Invisibly" built and by WHOM; then one can truly understand just what their lyrics mean. All we need to do is "TALK?" wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com

I Hate drugs, i will never have my mind altered. I Think, if you really like Pink Floyd, you will apreciate it and understand the songs with your own mind and opinion, it is not necessary to smoke weed.
@DoqFixter that's cool and all but I do hope that you know Pink Floyd have experiemented with drugs. with out those experiences this album would not be the same. what i'm getting at is that it's cool if you live a sober life. but dont bash the people who enjoy it. experiences is what life is about, maybe you should try a little cannabis sometime and chill out. cannabis is the plant of life. btw i like sobriety just as much as thc, so dont be hating my friend...... LONG LIVE PINK FLOYD

David Gilmour is the greatest guitarist in the world. Period. Followed by Carlos Santana, Doug Aldrich , Alex Lifeson and Satriani. Hendrix doesn't make the top 50 in my mind, yet Rolling Stone tries to call him number one. Any opinions on this?
@jetplt31 i would like to think alex lifeson is the best, not only em i a huge rush fan. but the style is more creative and complicated yet simple at the same time. but as for the rest i agree
@jetplt31 Hendrix was responsible for half the effects used in that era's and later day rock n roll he was the Number 1 most innovative guitarist around but as far as the best goes . I love Gilmour Clapton Stevie ray will always hold a special place also mark Knopfler has done some great stuff as well .
@jetplt31 Gilmour is awsome...not a huge santana fan... hendrix is pretty much responsible for at least i third of the music we listen too... ill bet gilmour was inspirded by him alot...so hendrix has a rightful place at number one, especially with guitar solos like All along the Watch tower...its just pure magic
David Gilmour....Is Pink Floyd..without him...there is no Pink Floyd!!!!!!! Wish he would tour America!!!! I have never been to a concert....I would love to see David Gilmour!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

KISW Radio 99;9 FM in Seattle was having a promo to win this album when it came out. When the sounder went off I was in the middle of sex. I jumped up, called and won the CD- No one is a bigger Floyd fan than I am.
If one alien culture arrive from outspace and far beyond this time.... The Pink Floyd music shall be the only and perfect languaje to comunicate us...

the first guy says he has the longest fingernails,
the second guy says he has the biggest nose,
the third guy says he makes the best music,
so they all go to the guiness world records museum to see if they are right.
the first guy runs out and says "yes i've got the longest fingernails!"
the second guy runs out and says "yes i do have the biggest nose!"

KISW Radio 99;9 FM in Seattle was having a promo to win this album when it came out. When the sounder went off I was in the middle of sex. I jumped up, called and won the CD- No one is a bigger Floyd fan than I am.
