  • Peak oil is a lie.

Max is either stupid or evil.

    Which one?

    Look it up.

Why is Russia the number one oil exporter?

    Russian abiotic oil science.

    gas resources corp.

    Come on MAX.

  • why is he wearing a suit in the desert?

  • screw oil!!!!!! isnt samah el shahat like super dupa hot???

  • my personal opinion is that as oil prices rise, oil that is in harder places (canda, poles, REAL deep water etc) will become valid. i dont think we will 'run out' of oil, however the price may render alternatives to be more viable

  • On the contrary, oil companies and traders around the world have a lot of data on SA well counts, flow rates, production, etc. Scare tactics.

  • Why was my comment removed about the solution I was proposing to energy crises?

Zeitgeist Moving Forward, proposes a transition from Oil based energy to renewable energy that todays technology can harness.

  • wikileaks show they have 40% less they they have been telling the world....peak oil already here...

  • There are people with vested interest saying they can't produce enough oil to meet the demands and there are people with vested interest saying that demand will adjust to supply and that the supply will surpass current negative trendlines. The truth is hard to grasp

  • Reduce human population by mandatory vasectomies, outlaw meat, and go solar and wind power only. Problem solved.

  • @mphello until the human race dies out...oops forgot that one

  • Max is almost funny in this one... almost.

  • That camel is infinitely smarter than that dumbfuck Tea Party.

That Max is amazing! The amazing Max: walking around in a Saudi Arabian desert in full stock broker tie and jacket! Now THAT'S dedication to getting to the truth about our economy!

  • That camel is infinitely smarter than that dumbfuck Tea Party.

  • Bravo to that hero who stood up to that terrorist head of Homeland Security this week and mailed those smoking packages! But, of course, the cowardly press and politicians will run and hide and denounce this person who is fighting for your and my freedom and quality of life.

  • Deny all energy, food, clean water, land, property to anyone in the United States found guilty of voting for Republicans or Democrats. Make it legal to kill anyone who votes for them. THAT is what is necessary to stop both mass starvation and anthropogenic global warming (AGW).

Had Americans had brains and elected Ralph Nader president of the USA in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 like they should have, he would have outlawed the production and import of new gasoline-powered cars.

  • @deskset24 Ralph Nader would have implemented a national overhaul of the infrastructure to all electric and mandated only electric-cars be manufactured, run only on solar, wind, and geothermal power.

I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone who dies, whether they are in the military or civilian, if they oppose mandatory vegetarianism, mandatory birth control of humans by male vasectomies, and mandatory inclusion of Greens, Socialists, and Communists in government in the USA.

  • @deskset24 the answer is better education. educated people make educated decisions, uneducated people make uneducated decisions.

  • ambiotic oil & go nuclear

  • Saudis burn million barrels a day just to produce electricity. Crazy!

  • Dude's hilarious.

  • Peak Oil 101: LifeAfterTheOilCrash~NET

  • It called the Rockefeller family that dominates and owns the majority shares of the "oil cartel" which in the NYMEX oil is traded and manipulated by Government Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

  • this is wrong we have a glut of oil. they just lie to push there comunist liberal agenda

  • Peak Oil is a fraud.

What to know where the there is a Mega Oil Field in the USA that is larger than Saudi Arabia??

Google 'Bakken oil field' and you'll find that there is over 500 million barrels of recoverable oil in the Western USA.

  • Peak oil talks about the RATE of extraction, not the total reserves. When the oil just wont come out of the well any faster no matter what you do, you have reached the peak. The point has been reached by over 50 countries now, and it will be a point on a graph of the worlds production..just a matter of when. The bakken field is extremely difficult to produce because of the low permeability of the rocks. It will never begin to approach the daily output levels of iraq and saudi oil.

  • "..until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned; until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes..the dream of lasting peace, world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained.."

    -His Imperial Majesty

Emperor Haile Selassie I, King of Kings

Address to UN in New York regarding World peace (Oct 1963)

  • How could Arabia NOT be past peak? They've been milking that arrid, dessicated teat for decades!

  • GOT HEMP?

  • Trapster- Lindsey Williams is a fraud. No hard data, just wild conjecture. The Alaskan reserves? Inflated at 20bn bbl (9 mo. sply). Caspian? A bust - less than 30% of initial estimates. Cantrell (2nd lrgst field in the wrld) lost 30% prod. last yr.

It's not a fraud, but your a fool.

  • Al Jazeera should bring out a daily newspaper here in the UK. The potential readership is massive for a international/daily newspaper aimed at Asian and Muslim readers. Plus liberal and intelligent people who want to read about news stories from around the World that are not reported!

  • Peak Oil is a fraud, as is the myth that this stuff is 'Fossil Fuel'. Oil is selling at less than $50 a barrel today. Huge deposits of oil exist that we are not told about. Watch Lindsy Williams for true info.

  • Dave McGowan's articles on "Peak Oil" are worth a close look!

  • Lindsay williams is a croc of shit. All the info relating to him turns out to be from the same vauge 'story' he wrote. All the fields and areas he talked about have since been put into production, and have now already entered into decline. Its fantasy.

  • @Trapster99 Where?

  • @Crustanarchy The Bakken Oil Field stradles Montana and North Dakota. There are huge deposits of oil in Sudan, hence all the fighting. Just look at the gusher out of the blown well in the Gulf of Mexico...lots of oil down there. There is lots of oil in the world.

Remember, the first rule in the oil world: the lower the supply the higher the price

  • @Trapster99 And you think everyone is going to be willing to tear apart the earth trying to get at the oil? Yes because drilling over 20,000 feet (5,000 of that underwater) is an exact science and has no possibility of error... oh wait. The costs of extracting said oil are going to destroy much of planet (can't say all of it). I think its much easier to devote funds to alternatives.

  • @Crustanarchy The absolute ecological catastrophy in the Gulf was not caused by 'imperfect science' but by human GREED and incompitance. There are credible reports that the blowout preventor failed critical pressure tests days before the blast. In addition, the government inspectors were either doing drugs or porn when they should have been ordering a shutdown of operations.

Are you prepared to give up EVERYTHING in your home that contains hydrocarbons? Honestly??

  • @Trapster99 It's not the amount 'down there' it is the ability to get it in an economically viable way. ERoEI.

  • Supply or peak makes no difference if it is poisoning the planet. The bourgeois goal is "reduced dependence on foreign energy supplies." (Drilling and coal&nuclear.)

That's just off-the-wall unacceptable, but that's all they want. That and a world oil empire they'll own and control and your kid might have to die to make and/or keep for them.

  • whaler3232: sorry, but peak oil has never been something extensively touted by the mainstream media. there are no good arguments against near-to-medium term peak oil, period.

  • haha...Max Keiser can even ice-skate!

Keep up the good work and informing us of the fraud world we live in.

  • I love how he skates in a cynical way!

  • @axa0176 Max was a hockey player

  • max keiser is one weird dude

  • Yes you're right buy he's really funny

  • Peak oil is a fraud. Global warming caused by man is a fraud. The 911 official story is a fraud. The monetary system is a fraud. Anything spilled out by the government or main stream media is a fraud.

  • Interesting comments...can you expand on them, especially the part on oil and the monetary system...thanks

  • I´m interested too in the oil part. However the monetary part: money is debt. Money is being created by credits and loans. Unfortunately to pay it back we have to pay interest but there is not enough money to do it. Consequently somewhere else new money has to be created from debt. This is the reason why our economy HAS !!! to grow every yearo therwise the inflation would be too high.

  • The money part: money is d e b t. Money can be created only from d e b t and credits. Unfortunately in the process the interest is not created and to be able to pay it back somewhere else d e b t has to be created again to be able to pay the interest. This system is responsible for the vast majority of our inflation. Voila

  • One guy explained "peak oil" in a way that was more acceptable to me because I'm skeptical of claims like this. But he just said that it's an observation, not so much a theory. It's a fact that wells peak and then fall off and that the discovery of new easy wells has peaked and fallen off. There may be plenty of oil, but it's harder to find and harder to extract (more expensive). Also, demand is always increasing.

You can't have exponential growth forever! Makes no sense mathematically.

  • You know what I wonder? Why do we pressure the Saudi's to produce more oil? Isn't it there asset? Aren't they allowed to profit off it how they please?

  • Wait a minute, this guy has not access to data from Saudi Arabian oil fields (cause they won't release it), but he claims we're at peak oil? What kind of theory is this?

What about all the capped wells in Texas and the North Slope of Alaska? How much oil is being suppressed?

And what about the research from Russian scientists that suggests that petroleum is of primordial origin and oil reserves are actually increasing?

  • america is screwed, and soon, financial system will collapse as soon as petrodollars stop flowing. American living standards will be lowered significantly (along with canada's) and unless you have a really good job, you are going to be living a lower life style. Especially when it comes to commodity consumption such as owning a car, travelling frequently, and having a cushy retail job in an air conditioned mall. Expect to work harder for less money.

  • Krist300,

I need to know. What if you have zero debt and substantial savings and you live in Canada. How will you fare with the collapse ogf the US dollar. Would that not mean that with a strong, (compared to the US dollar) dollar, your purchasing power from the rest of the world will be maintained.

  • mm... i don't really know, buy gold, as we have seen what an american crisis can do to the canadian stock market. (and stock markets everywhere)

  • SWEET, dude! I didn't know I was watching something through Aljezeera until just now. Rock out, son!

  • crap crap crap. the world has enough oil to last over 50 years or so. watch lindsey williams video on youtube. (energy non crisis)

The world powers are creating a crisis to bring in a New World Order. look into it. question everything

  • "the world has enough oil to last over 50 years or so"

If true, it's to be expected that problems with production capacity start well before the oil has run out.

  • @mrchekky 50 years isn't a long time bro.

  • Great video, spot on analysis IMHO. We are heading for trouble! Take a look in Iraq (did anybody say oil war?) and lately the rolling blackouts in South Africa. What aspect of our lives isn't affected by oil, if not downright powered by it? Not many. We all need to do our bit to soften the impact of this impending catastrophe that most people seem to be blissfully unaware of.

  • How can one benefit from rising oil prices? You can't invest in oil by buying barrels of it. What investment opportunities stem from this?

  • Have you seen what Abu Dabi, Saudi Arabia, and other countries are turning into it? They are turning barron dessert into cities, and they have trillions of our U.S. dollars to buy U.S. assets and commodities. The higher the price, the more you make - that's how they benefit.

  • I mean how can we as individual investors benefit.

  • Buy gold, silver, oil, and other commodities like food. Inflation is about to destroy this country and lots of the world.

  • "Buy gold, silver, oil, and other commodities like food"

The rich can do that, the rest of us can't because we have no spare money.

  • I only make $40,000 a year and I've bought over 150 ounces of silver since march 2008. Of coarse, I don't have a mortgage, a money hunger whore wife, mouths to feed, a brand new dick extension that you have to take a 8 year car loan for, Ipods, Flat screen tv's, or enormous amounts a bullshit from Walmart.

That's how I bought my oil/gold/silver. Try it sometime.

  • any take on Ron Paul's take on foreign policy for America?

  • Great work Max & Stacy. I wish we could get AJE on freview in the UK.

  • Indeed. I only listen to three news channels: RussiaToday, France24 and AlJazeera. Much better (more honest) reporting, more stimulating documentaries and fascinating debates!

  • @salimfadhley you can indeed

english (dot) aljazeera (dot) net (forward slash) watch_now

  • this show rocks.

  • You can actually get it with a regular cable package option in Australia.

This coverage is nuanced, interesting, humorous (to bring the viewer along for a somewhat dry topic), why doesn't Western TV have such attractive qualities?

  • western electronic media (at least in the u.s.) is aimed at buttressing the power of the state -- not opposing or even questioning it.

  • Call your local cable companies to ask for Al Jazeera English.
