man just love that sound that truck makes. man i miss watching heil rapids. wish edco would sign a new contract with them. i'm glass cr&r has different trucks then just amreps. that just gets boring, like edco and their bridgeports. can't believe i missed this video. total favorite!!!
@TheTrashman97 funny you watched this today, I was trying to go back here today for more footage in HD, however I looked at the weather report last night and said screw that! said to be 94, turned out to be 102 here today so Im glad I didnt go ride my bike on a 35 miles round trip... hopefully next week though. They have these Rapid Rails, a few 310 rapid rails (all rapid rails are ex disposal services which means alot to me) and they have the only 7000 that DS ever owned. Gotta find that next!
Good God Mike, just keep outdoing yourself!!! This truck sounds not as much like that single axle RR I filmed but more like an actual EDI ASL. I'm posting a single clip from that footage and I'll send it to you so you can get an idea. He revs continuously at each house, but the arm doesn't go as fast. This CR&R driver is more entertaining, but I definitely like the 'driving away' sound of our truck better :D
First thing I want to say is that it is bloody brilliant to not see a bloody CR&R Amrep for a change lol Secondly the sound of that engine is priceless, especially when you're close to the exhaust at 6:00 and 9:00! He really likes tapping the throttle to get those short revs... makes it more exciting too :P Very lucky to find an older truck around too, I could swear that down here in Sydney everything is almost brand new :/ Screw the CNGs, bring back these roaring diesels!!! Top job again Mike!
Pete and White RR's in CRR colors like this, pre 95 like this, are in the IE I saw someone post them in a montage of trucks but not sure whch yard. The only good non RR truck in CRR colors is the old style Amrep elliptical on 320, it operate like an early 90's Amrep.
Thanks a mil Mike, I was waiting for this vid. I have a lot of great memories of rainy days like tonight in San Diego of the Heil RR and of course nearby in Glendale. I love pre 95 trucks and this one is most certainly special. I observed an RR for a year doing a multifaily route 50 feet from my house and I started to totally love it since these trucks are teflon, I always beforehand like it less because I thought it was not that strong, but boy did it teach me.
@RainbowDisposal I tried to catch EVR2s getting smashed but there were so few, that even in 20 minutes of filming this truck I didnt get to see even one! The black roto said JDS. Forgot what the J stood for but DS was disposal Services. Yes the kirks and toter and older roto and even some oold style evr1, are disposal services carts. I wish they were in my city....
Awesome job. I had to re read the title a couple times.. Cr&R RR.. lol. What trucks did they have for GW / R... I wonder if they ever run those old MSLs if one ASL break down.
@r6man2 Greens and recycle were also Rapid Rails. They have tons of ellipticals and like 2 ancient amrep octo aswell as a heil 7000. There is one square body maxon msl in their yard that is solid white, So im assuming it was bought from another company to use.
This sounds just like the old RR tht used to come down my street as a kid; with the sound never stopping thoughout the collection process and also with out some of the deeper sounds!

This has to be one of the most awesome CR&R videos I've seen on the internet. Great job, man. So many questions to ask but I'll ask only a few.
1. What did the black Rotos say on the side?
2. Were all the carts (minus the EVR II's and 3rd gen. Rotos) old DS carts?
3. Get any EVR II's being smashed on film?
That's all I'll ask. Liked for sure. And into my growing "Automation" playlist :)

Great work! never really knew CR&R actually owned an RR. sure looks pretty beat up!
I like how they made the rear axle a tag axle. reminds me of how phx used their RRs.
JaccobDalton 1 year ago
@JaccobDalton thanks. there ancient trucks. One good thing about CR&R is that they keep their older trucks. There is a F7000 in their yard too.
3amrepmike3 1 year ago
@3amrepmike3 a F7000!?!?!!? Are you getting a vid of it?
bdmcneilusmsl 1 year ago
@3amrepmike3 yea i really like their ancient trucks. i wonder if they buy older trucks from truck selling websites. that F7000 would be pretty beast.
