You're correct. Mothers do have the right to scald to death, dismember, or have their unborn babies skulls crushed inutero. It is not illegal to do so. I do know that, but it doesn't make those things right. When you say a fetus (unborn child) doesn't have life until it is out of the womb, it makes me know you have never felt your child kick you or move while in your stomach. You have never felt the life of your child within your own body or you'd never make that statement.

@doylieman100 I've met women who had the first legal abortions, who had like 35 yrs ago. Most don't regret them. The ones that usually do, tend to suffer from depression. Usually a lot of other issues in their lives. I've met people who suffered physically from surgeries, that weren't abortions. I don't see people protesting them. Therefore, we should assume the lower realistic estimates and assume that a baby who has been born (possibly before then too) is sentient (capable of feeling pain/suffering). That constitutes "giving a damn", because pain/suffering are inherently negative subjective feelings. That fact, combined with the fact that the mother had some ~9 months to consider this, makes it very clear that killing neonates is unethical.

For example, pain sensors don't start showing up until about 7 weeks, and even then, the rest of the pathway isn't there. The thalamus and cortex are incapable of communicating with each other and/or of processing stimuli until at LEAST 23 weeks. Before then, it is literally impossible for a fetus to feel pain

Unless your family likes to have raw sex with everyone.. Also though, he has to back up a lot of what he says...and he can't just say "Women should be able to choose what they want to do.." because there are some/ A LOT of ignorant men out in this world who would have oppositions..

i think a fetus should get human rights when the embryonic stem cells begin specializing. before that, there isnt anything even close to a neuron, so no pain and no consciousness.

Anyhow, to answer your question: I believe that life needs to be sacred when the mother of a fetus deems the process of procreation as continuing to birth. With that, I want federal funds reserved for pre-natal care, state/federal-funded early care and day care, educational tax credits and grants, the development of child-raising workshops and mentoring programs...
Yeah, I'm very pro-life...when life begins.

@arslp people have different choices who are you to tell someone what they can or cant do with a child no one should have to carry the burden of a child if they dont want to its the mothers choice not anyone elses and they should be able keep the option of arbortion because it is them who have to take care of the baby feed and clothe it not people who swear up and down that it is wrong what baby wants to be born in a finacially unstable home or in a home where they arent wanted its a choice

No one is forced to rear a child they cannot afford; no one. Adoption is humane; surrounding an unborn child in salt water - burning it to death, or pulling limbs off with forceps is not. Those who endorse the "rights" of others are so remiss in denying the unborn the very basic fundamental right - the right to live. Would you fight to live? The unborn do just that: They move away from the forceps, and fight to live - the most helpless of all.

I don't like domestic violence, and even though I raise my hand to no one, should I just sit there and watch it, and do nothing to stop it? I believe abortion to be morally reprehensible; and it requires the taking of an innocent life.

@arslp ok that is what you believe and i believe a fetus doesnt have life until it is out of the womb. but as long as it in the womb you have the choice either to have the baby or dont its just that simple and there is no comparsion of pedophilia and domestic violence to abortion as along as thae baby is in their mother womb the mother can do what they feel is in the best intrest of the child or theirself and their right shouldnt be taken away.

You're correct. Mothers do have the right to scald to death, dismember, or have their unborn babies skulls crushed inutero. It is not illegal to do so. I do know that, but it doesn't make those things right. When you say a fetus (unborn child) doesn't have life until it is out of the womb, it makes me know you have never felt your child kick you or move while in your stomach. You have never felt the life of your child within your own body or you'd never make that statement.

@doylieman100 I've met women who had the first legal abortions, who had like 35 yrs ago. Most don't regret them. The ones that usually do, tend to suffer from depression. Usually a lot of other issues in their lives. I've met people who suffered physically from surgeries, that weren't abortions. I don't see people protesting them. You dislike abortion because you see the fetus as deserving the rights to be born over the rights of the woman to control her body. Thats where it boils down too.

@Boudiga You have made your point well and yes I see that unborn person as a human being and should have the same right as any other person to be able to live and make their own choices not put on them by others who choose out of covenience for there own life to have a baby or not...even in the case of rape that baby should still have the right to live and not pay the price for someone elses crime there are other options for the mother such as adoption...I believe all life is precious!!

You see the fetus as deserving of life over the physical rights of the woman, well if you get pregnant under any of the circumstances I'm sure you'll do what is right for you. But since the fetus is NOT legally a person until its born, it is 100% up to the woman carrying it to do what she wants. Why I would never agree with your belief is...

Not allow her to drink coffee or alochol? And if her life is endangered w/ the pregnancy, should she be force to for fit her right to live to give birth? .... finding ways for people to afford to have children. As well as better, safer and affordable birth control and education. Doing things to fight why women have abortions rather than abortion itself makes more sense. Fight the illness not the symptom. Many people have abortions because they can't afford a child (although we have recently in the USA lowered the bar what is poverty we now have whats called the working poor.) Not lazy at all and are struggling to survive.

Women can suffer from it, as well as postpartum psychosis (a friend of mine had this,) from a live birth, a miscarriage, a still born or an abortion. In some cases those who suffer from theses illnesses has successfully killed live children. It happened in Texas several yrs back where a woman killed her five kids! Do your homework

if a woman gets raped must they have to carry the baby? With all religion aside, is it sensible to force a raped woman to carry the burden of a baby and go through childbirth? What if the woman was on a path to becoming a doctor or lawyer? What if she whould have cured cancer had she had an abortion? Things like pro-life limit progress in America. All religion aside, progress is what the world strives for and those who are pro-life are cannot see the different situations which exist.
