Oh, they didn't all overlap. The hitboxes take up like 1/3 of the space, meaning that you have around 66% chance of dodging every wave just by standing still.

Works for everyone, but not consistently.

The thing is that the slower pink waves go exactly through the same way as the fast blue went, so when you dodge the blue, the incoming pink will miss you.

If you knew the amount of waves you can dodge, hitbox size of the amulets and the space between them, you could even calculate the success rate.

though for reimu, there is a more effective way to cheat this, but it requires moving. All you do is stay on top of the spirit things that mokou fires to the right of the screen and it stops the bullets from fireing (as reimu is immune to spirits, and bullets dont spawn on top of the player.
