@votballer I believe its not a GTR, GTR is a high performance variant of the skyline brand. Its like those AMG mercs. Beefed up and made faster, thats what GTR is as well. This doesnt look anything like a GTR. Not saying the Skyline cars are slouches but certainly they are no GTR

I cant understand why they always try to bring down the Skyline and also the Supra by putting it up to a car like McLaren F1. It's like letting a Dog race a Cheetah. Two different cars/animals. I love Supra more than Skyline though, and in this race, Skyline was the dumbest choice of them all, Skyline would eat that McLaren in a drifting race any single day in the week. And dont come with this McLaren F1 isn't a drift car, Skyline isn't a drag car either. mclaren is a high speed track racer car

Oh and the 2008 onwards Hayabusa with 9.5 seconds. The McLaren F1 is great because the Bugatti Veyron is a W16, 7 litre quad turbo with 1000hp and it's only managing 10.2 seconds and the McLaren is naturally aspirated and has only 627 horsepower

@Azlann9 The Mclaren is the better design car. It can it 240 w/o turbos & the car was released back in the 90s. Some car show race the 2. The Mclaren beat the Bugatti off the line & was leading for a good minute, not to mention the Bugatti has AWD & around 300 more h/p. It eventually passed the F1 because of the extra h/p & the turbos got spooled up.

Well there's a video showing some jap cars vs a mclaren f1. It's with a supra in this video and the supra did a 12.74s 1/4 mile and the mclaren f1 did a whopping 11.045 seconds. That means that car could do a 10.9 in ideal conditions. Thats freaking awesome since the newest 600cc bikes are only doing 10.52 seconds(2010 kawasaki zx-6r - cycleworld). Still a fair way off the 1000cc bikes though. fastest times I've seen are: 9.68s(2009 cbr1000rr - motousa) and 9.57seconds(BMW S1000rr - motousa)

i would say the gtr is standard, from factory 320bhp ish unofficial. the mclaren would destroy it, even if the sky had the same power 600 odd bhp, the skyline is heavier and needs huge laggy turbos to get the power down, even if the skyline had 1000bhp it would lose out to the mclaren, its to heavy and the engine no matter what you say, does not have enough beef behind it, to get to 200mph + its not aerodynamic enough either, it would keep up with 1000bhp but lose out around the 160mph 180mph.

A Mclaren F1 does an 11.1 qtr, here in Australia we have street registered GTRs on radials in the high 8's.

An F1 does 0-300km/h in about 17 secs the Veilside GTR does it in 13.7 and there are plenty of other GTR's slightly slower but still faster then the F1.

Top speed is the only place the F1 would be better but that is useless in 99% of situations.

@chrisdef15 the facts are this: i never said the f1 would win over a 1/4 mile, at worst i said keep up, i have no doubt a gtr could keep or beat a an f1 over short distances with 1000bhp + running a drag setup to clock 8 second 1/4 a gtr would have low ratio gearboxes a standard gear box running road ratios would be destroyed by the torque, and road ratios would be a waste anyway, after the 1/4 mile the gtr would lose any advantage to its bungalow sized front end, a gtr 241mph?

I don't trust top gear. I love the show, but with other tests like bike vs car....they have pathetic test that aren't worht a cent because Jeremy hates and is afraid to ride a motorcycle. You should see 5th gears ducati 1098 vs lamborghini gallardo superleggera. Now THATS a proper comparison. I don't think that skyline has 1000hp, no 1000hp skyline is that slow, that was pathetic. @Nightshade323 The car is 1 of a kind. The driver seat sits dead center of the car. The engine bay has real gold laying in it. Its very good looking. This car was way ahead of its time. Over 600 horsepower w/o force induction & can reach 240 MPH! Did I mention the car was design back in the early 90s. I don't think the new Mclaren would compare to this. I think the new 1 would be just like all the other supercars of today, not standing out or being different.
