  • Looks like cold break material floating around, not yeast :)

  • I love to watch the yeast churn up stuff like that. It means that the yeast is happy and healthy. How did the beer taste?

  • Dazed and Confused. Cheers bro :)

  • Your fermenting temps are too high. Ales should ferm between 60 and 65 degrees.

  • Yeah, I live in the south and it's hard to achieve good typical fermentation temp. This beer fermented around 70-72 degrees. Always check the yeast specs and see what temps it ferments best. Belgian ales can handle warmer temps. WLP-550 can handle temps up to 78 deg. Saisons ferment around 85 degrees. Anyway, now I have a freezer that I use to keep proper fermentation temps. :) Thanks for commenting.

  • Looks great! I just had an ale blow the air lock top off last night, scared the shit out of me. Hopefully it will turn out ok...

  • love the song... ha

  • Yeah, glad someone picked up on it.

  • I just made an american pale ale with safeale04, that was second generation with a starter. Mine looks like yours, but I have yeast stuck to sides of carboy also. Mine is alot more pale color.

  • The beer turned out ok. I'm thinking that it had something to do with the clarifying agent I used.

  • I only used irish moss.

  • you pale ale doesn't look too pale to me. sure looks belgian though. enjoy!

  • haha, i agree. It's usually paler in a pint glass.
