I am reading "Into Thin Air" by Jon Krakauer about the Everest expedition that ended in Rob Hall's death. This song definitely captures the sad, lost feeling that was felt that night. It's a beautiful tribute sung in an achingly beautiful voice.

this song is actually about Rob Hall who died on Mount Everest in 1996, not about neil himself or his mother. Im assuming "mother i cant help think of you" is what he thinks one of Rob's last thoughts were. Beautiful song.
