Mr. Beaufort, I was wondering which of your classes would be more effective for me to attend. My final goal is to be able to build, program, and install entire control pannels for complete projects. My firm is also involved in repairs and trouble shooting. I have built a dozen panels so far, and my only programming thus far has involved the rslogix simulator. Considering my limited experience level, and goals, what would you reccomend? I have not attended any other classes.
@Bigbearjerry12 these YouTube comments don't allow much room to write ... I suggest that you track me down and send me an email ... you can find me easily enough through Google ... somewhere along the line we'll need to talk by phone ... and please make sure that you read ALL of the Boot Camp Experience page on my website ... this isn't "PLC Training As Usual" and you need to know that up front ... best regards ... Ron
Greetings rpaul247. Most of the classes that I teach are 5 days long. You can find out all about them by visiting my website. Be sure to read ALL of the "Boot Camp Experience" page. This is much more intense than "PLC training as usual" - and you need to understand that before you sign up. Ron
Whoa! What simple yet effective explanation of the topic that has been giving me sleepless nights. Thank u so very much for explaining the basics in such a clear and easy way. This has definitely cleared a lot of misconceptions and i am going back to the the institute where i took plc training to correct them for all the incorrect things and misconceptions that they have. Thank u RonBeaufort , again for such a wonderful explanation.
Just got done with plc boot camp. I can't believe how much info one man can cram into another persons head in a week. Thanks Ron! Hope to be back for another class in the future.
@11amike ... we're glad you found the videos helpful ... there is also some more free material (the Email Quizzes) available from the Sample Lessons page of our website ... no registration or user information is required ... thank you for your comment ... Ron
@ceilingwalker1 ... just because he thought the videos were good doesn't mean he should go to the class. He may not have the time or money to do so, and he may not even need the experience in the first place... Just saiyan.

This is the info i need to know, found easy to absorb and easy to folow. would love to go more in depth by attending a course. Are the courses in the UK or just over seas? thanks
@hawkomontanabanana ... I'm glad you found the videos helpful ... most of our courses are held here in Charleston, SC ... sorry to disappoint you, but currently there are no plans to go to the UK ... best regards, Ron
Wow! I wish the salesman that brought the first "GE Series One" in my door, had brought these videos at the same time. It would have saved me many hours of frustration. Thanks!
I found a link to these videos on the PLCs.net site and found them extremely helpful as a learner. I wish i could get to boot camp in the USA but that is not possible. The attention to detail is what counts here and i found your style acceptable. Thank you.
@energymonitor I'm glad that you found the videos helpful. You might also be interested in the free "Email Quizzes" linked through the "Sample Lessons" page of my website at wwwDOTronbeaufortDOTcom. Thank you for your comment. Ron
i had joined a plc course of 3 weeks before going through ur boot champ.
The way we were taught over there was very basic level. and we were more into programming side rather than whats goin in an PLC and wondering how does a plc really works? i am really thankful to you. i wish if u had any lecture-seminars in india.
Greetings akash9223 ... I'm glad you found the videos helpful ... I'm just wondering how the course that you mentioned would go about teaching you how to write a program - without first teaching you how a PLC really works ... that seems like a very strange teaching method to me ... thank you for your comment, and I wish you the greatest success with your future studies ... Ron
I have very little experience with servo controls. I recommend that you join either (or both) of the two public PLC forums listed on the Links to PLC Resources page of my website. Membership is free and can be anonymous if you prefer. You can post your questions there and I'm quite sure that the forum members will be able to help guide you. Note that I have no connection (financial or otherwise) with the forums that I've recommended. I hope this is helpful to you. Ron
Wow your videos were absolutely amazing. It helped me to understand the confusing part of plc where you wire the hardware to the program. I did a very short course in plc and they never thought me so in depth. Thanks alot for this.
you said you are using a plc5, I'm a student that uses a micrologix 1500. i Know that thier is are a few different things to be aware of when programming a 1000 or a 1500. are your videos applicable to me Ron?
yes, you should get exactly the same results - at least for the examples that I used in the videos ... the screen display that you'll see should be the same as the SLC-500 screen shots that are shown in the videos ...
Understanding the functionality and consequences of ladder logic under normal and abnormal conditions can be vitally important to personnel safety and preventing machine or process damage. This video clip describes how the improper use of ladder logic can create undesired machine responses under abnormal conditions. Excellent and informative video.

great lessons Ron, and I very much like the style and tempo.
The will get met started to play around with a plc at home, trying to set-up exterior lighting with different detection states.
