I commend you on your bravery. I personally hate hand fire shows. Too dangerous and way little control over the show. And reloading tubes? No way. We handfired a Forrest Park Chicago show with 780 shells mostly 5-6 with all 3 inch shells on chains. And every shell had a tube of its own. As far as normal people. Don't even think of trying this in your backyard.
GREAT VIDEO, BUT TIGHTEN UP THOSE RACKS WE NEVER HAVE FIBERGLASS TUBES FLYING OUT OF THE RACK, yikes! though it is really cool seeing it fly in slow motion.
wow, gotta love fireworks, that is some extraofrinary slow motion pyrotechnics!! Wonderful job great editing and some hell of violent forces!Id love to go that now..well some day soon someone has to want I show that I can join xD will keep my eyes open for some of that action to next show I join:D
oohooo wooow that was freaking awsome! if i could recive this kind of materials to my nevyears eve well i would die of happyness;) anyway the video showed realy well what is going on when fiering great job, might be the best ever!
Jonboatjones thank you for having this vid on here I was hoping they would be, is there any way you could put the rest of the video's from this DVD on here so I can put them on my myspace page, that would be great.......Thank you, P.S. the family loves the DVD's I cant wait to recieve the new one it was awesome.
Couple of things real quick, 12'' shells are fired electrically, anything less than 8'' is shot by hand with a flare. I've had a 6'' shell blow up next to me with no injury well except alittle ringing in my ear, Im not saying it couldnt happen it is just rare especially on our crew and one more thing the pyro crew does not make the product ''fireworks'' they are made in a factory we just setup and shot.
you would have to be damn close to a a 12 inch flower pot or low rise to get killed by it its not like these are throughing out metal fragments but you would get messed up i agree.
Shell's are dangerous, if u have a flower pot or mortar burst. Then they're are dead.... And the distance of a 4'' is 100 meter, if those are 4''. Patroontje, dit was Plof van Avp..! ;)
patroontje you need to shut up take a shooters corse and if youve done that then you should know that if you do a 1,000 shell show your goin to be F-ing tired runing a 100 meters for every shot retard quit criticizing and have fun shootig em
Not mention the fact that in bigger shows, the mortar tubes get reloaded with the next shot. Imagine that.
running up to the racks with live ordinance IN HAND while all the fire and brimstone is going off around you. Thats why some people should just stay back with the crowds and enjoy the show from a distance and not minimize or insult what the guys do. It happens like this everywhere, its normal. And they know the risks.
fiik420... YOU DONT HAVE TO RUN EVERYTIME YOU LIGHT ONE, YOU DUMBASS!! Such thing is called: electrical fuse, wich is recommended for every show.
And jonboatjones. Yes I got it illegally, but that doesn't mean that I don't know anything about it. You can tell me anything you want, but you can't deny that if you had a flowerpot over there you would be dead by now or heavily injured! And by saying that they do it in other shows too doesn' mean that it's safe.
Patroontje, 3 inch shells are not avail to the general public. if you had access to 3"shells, somebody brought them out illegally, and I am not surprised that you had a malfunction. I am aware of the laws surrounding these type of fireworks. Ive been to shooters school, and have a certification in this type of ordinance. I do not have the authorization to purchase/accuire anything over 1.3G in size. I think you either need to find a new fireworks buddy, or learn how to read a tape measure.
This crew likes hand lighting whenever possible. Electronic firing is used on 8 inch and larger shells. Those are quite a bit more nasty than 6 inch and under. These guys will often use electronics to fire cakes and other specialty devices as well. Thats the way they roll.
That's really really dumb of that crew. The minimum distance for shooting 3" shells is in the 100metres. And thats for a reason. If one of those mortars had a mortarburs (shell explodes in the tube) or a flowerpot (shell explodes just above the tube) that entire crew including the camera-man wouldn't have survived. This happens quicker than you can imagine.
Oh come on, 3 Inch shells aren't gonna wipe out everyone within 100 yards. These guys have been doing this for years, and I was there as the cameraman. Seen what these things are capable of.
Now if a 10 inch shell was to pop early, I would seriously worry, but we stay way back from those babies...
I have a feeling they know what they're doing.. i had a chance to shoot some rounds when I was 16 or so that somebody i knew got at a native american reservation.. they were prolly 2-3" but i'm not exactly sure.
I imagine the pyros are having a lot of fun, and know the capabilities of those fireworks.
Well.. My nephew and I were shooting shells in the dunes, and 1 of the shots was a flowerpot... Some parts of my clothes were burned and I've burned my arm, and I was standing at quite some distance (not enough though). 3" shells have like at least 180 grammes of explosives (flash powder/other explosives) wich is very very much for fireworks (since a firecracker has got 0,3 in the most of the cases).
And NLal3x.. 12" Cylindrical... You are really retarted if take only 1 meter distance from those things. It doesn't matter how much you know about the stuff, a mortarburst or a flowerpot can ALWAYS happen. And if you're standing 1 meter away from a 12" cylindrical having a flowerpot, you're freaking dead.
Duh ofcourse you're dead. But the great cylindricals are made by the pyrotechnicians themselfs. So they know if a flowerpot or mortarburst will happen. And if they know it theyt wont fire it. Eveything in the shell is selfmade so even the fuse connecting liftcharge - burstcharge. (wich is from PERFECT quality I can tell you)
But what I was trying to say is that you're saying you are a retard when you do that stuff, but meanwhile youre saying you fired 3" with not enough distance so.....
I have to agree about the mortar burst. If you're 5 metres away from a mortarburst in a hdpe mortar, you would only be.. deaf xD.. But I was basicly talking about a flowerpot =)

And fiik240 they're using hdpe mortars so they wont throw out any metal fragments.. :p
When hdpe mortars are mortarbursting you should be from like.. 5 meters away from it to be save.. (well save => no sharves from the mortar..)
NLal3x 4 years ago
actually they are fiberglass. and i said its NOT like they are throughing out metal fragments. i never said they were made of metal.
fiik420 4 years ago
copy that! fuck shit ofcourse they're from fiberglass because then you can see the liftcharge exploding in the mortar... (¬.¬)

Why you say it's dumb... Check out your other post:
Some parts of my clothes were burned and I've burned my arm, and I was standing at quite some distance >>>>>(not enough though)<<<<<.
And besides that, look at Italy dude, they fire 12" cilindrical shells (they're about 1.5 - 2 meters high) by hand on a distance of 1 meter.. ;(
They know what they're doing. They're licensed to do stuff like that..
Oh and btw I don't believe you shot 3" shells..
