  • Hah a turbo'd v8 would be nasty but i would rather see a updated 2jz

  • I want the new Supera to come with a updated 2JZ, I could give shit less what it looks like!

  • No offence but I would rather have the Old Supras back then the new concept types they gonna be makin

  • I can say that Supra or a Better Sports Car than GT86 wont come out for at least 3-4 years from TOYOTA. 2013 GT86 will lunch in a few months, so no room for the Supra in 2012, still impossible for 2013-2015. otherwise, GT86 sales wont be that good. just the marketing strategy.

  • 2 thumbs up.

This rendering looks very current yet true to the brand. Many concepts go to the extreme and we end up with boredom after the final cuts have been made. Let's hope other brands learn this. So many great concepts are just that a concept. Toyota please make this car. I just can't see my self in any of your other cars anymore.

  • The MKIV Supra is a timeless car! They will have their hands full if they plan on building something to trump the MKIV. Hopefully they don't let us down.

  • Production depends if Vin Diesel likes it more then his *insert* old Supra

  • I agree I think that rendering looks great just separate the taillights no middle tail light like they have illuminated in the rendering and change the rims and the car looks perfect

  • Good report - very informative and enjoyable. The only exception is right at the end where the announcer suggests the new Supra should have a turbo V8 or a turbo V6. If it's not a turbo'd *straight* six (I6), it's not a Supra. If BMW's N54 inline-6 turbo can work with today's emission standards, then why can't Toyota update the 2jz-gte to do the same (or better)?

  • They've destroyed the supra.......should have just tweaked it a little thats it! and the fact that their not putting an all Japanese engine in it to shame! what happened to the inline six?!! I would like to talk to toyota about this.

  • the thing is I doubt toyota / lexus will make any money from their "performance" line because they are JUST getting back into the game and have a lot of funds tied up to produce their "eco friendly" cars. LF-A costs them just as much as much they charge us to buy one. The FT-86 / FRS is a perfect step for them to get started and I intend to buy one to hopefully push the company back into the performance car market. A new Supra would be awesome... but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  • Ok now this I like... a lot! That's why the supra was great cuz it stood out. Sure it contributed to people putting huge wings on everything from civics to cavaliers and even a few camrys and other dumb cars. But still an awesome design. Sad the great ideas rarely get made.

  • just stumbled upon this episode. Great professionalism and insight. KEEP IT UP!

  • @fonzdaii Thanks...keep coming back and spread it around, we appreciate it.

  • Toyota are heading more towards economy, also they have always been conservative designwise.

  • very nice starting line for the estetic...and if they make a new straight 6 turbo i'll buy it 100%!!

  • Toyota is taking a little too long to bring all this to life. The same goes for Honda with their new NSX and they must bring the best drivers car back, the amazingly FUN S2000.

  • I hope they keep working on the front bumper some more because it looks too closely to the Nissan 350Z with the headlights and grill opening. Not really a fan of the 350 because, like the 2000 VW Beetle, you couldn't tell if it was coming or going. Not the same issue here but because of that it's left a bitter taste seeing the Supra like this. Side profile is top notch!

  • hybrid crape? what are you getting paid up by oil companies man?

  • @ninadbhatt Hell...I wish I was.

  • Toyota are floundering michele

they need to bring back the Supra to save the brand

and finally put out the FT-86 ...Scion FRS sports car

if they don't - the'yre going to fall way behind

Toyota dropped the ball years ago

  • @sid203 You can see what they did to the Ft-86...looks neutered compared to the first concept.

  • Oh god.... I need to go change my undies lol....

  • Gorgeous!

  • I'm sure the engine will be nothing like the legendary 2JZ =/ it will probably something more favored to economy. The days of turbo inline six monsters is gone
