  • Looks pretty awesome, but how is it "afforable"? I looked it up and it is about $500. :S A bit steep, I think.

  • @Duskypuss

Bonzai3d is a commercial 3d modeling program, and compared to the other programs that are available, bonzai3d is both cheaper and easier to use. :)

If you are a student or a teacher, there are academic licenses available for much less. Just click the Academic link at the top of our web site for more info!

  • Well I am pleased and impressed that you took the time to answer these questions and comments so far...thanks....I look forward to the kitchen webinar or seminar or whatever and however it materializes.....A kitchen one would be most useful as many interiors have some sort of cabinet , closet, furniture and other ....Great.

  • Oh and me again...a fantastic shout out to Method Cast...he is the man...get him to make all of your tutorials...everything he does is first rate...and he generously gives it all away...and he knows his stuff so well and explains all so well...and he really seems to like Bonzai3D....Big influence on me to re-evaluate Bonzai3d.

I think it will be a good companion to Modo by Luxology. The best sub-d and unbelievable render built in. Blows Maxwell out of the water...Enjoying my re-visit a lot!!!

  • @jetsonjoe

Yes, bonzai3d has a lot of great import / export options to allow you to communicate well with other programs such as SketchUp, Modo, Autocad, and pretty much any 3d software.

We don't offer shirts, but we did just release a new training / demo video that you can see here:

    youtube.com/watch?v=kiiygq9G2Mw

We will be making more webinars and training videos to cover more areas, and we can consider doing a kitchen for one of these. Let us know if you have any further Q's!

  • Can you get t-shirts or golf shirts from you with Bonzai3D on them or other???

  • And yes I like your training files...very straightforward and well done...thanks...

And the webinars are excellent...glad they are available to watch. How about a webinar using say a kitchen plan and elevations and making a kitchen with components...that would be awesome...or a bathroom...Naaa...do a kitchen...walls, windows, cupboards, import appliances from a suppliers files...add textures..tiles, lights, yeah do the whole room....that would be awesome. When is FormZ version 7 coming out???

  • Thank you...I have been testing your offerings in importing and exporting files....seems you do more than you say...collada or colloda...is not such a good one for you though...once you play around they work. Eventually modo by luxology files?

Modo is my primary "other" software..but not much in the way of offering any cad enhancements...maybe you should do a plug-in...they have an amazing SDK kit.

Anyways...i see the direct Google warehouse is not integrated any more..too bad?

    you do skp !!

  • now if they would only redo these videos in higher quality...that is badly needed...quality of visuals is not so good.

  • @jetsonjoe

We are glad that you are appreciating the power of bonzai3d. We have truly tried to make creating quality geometry as quick and easy as possible!

Regarding the video quality, we are working this, and you can currently get a little better quality on our web site (bonzai3d - dot - com). Then go to Products: bonzai3d: Tutorial Videos: High Resolution. There are also Webinar Replays that you can access from the Support: Webinars: Webinar Replay section of our site

  • Well it has been almost a year...and I have returned to say...that without a doubt...Bonzai3d is the better of the two by far....everything they say and more are reasons to go with Bonzai...it is more robust, easier to create "clean and transferable" geometry ( i use Modo by luxology and it Bonzai3D worked so so so much better almost all of the time with Modo) Sketchup was just problem after problem...I prefer modo for rendering-much better than renderzone or maxwell-although maxwell is awesome!

  • Hey, is that the real wireframe, or just a "slicky" one, i mean, just with the forms.

Bcause the topology looks kinda crazy for max, maya etc...

  • @Yamagatabr

The display shown in the video above is a "Shaded Work" mode that is based on OpenGL. It automatically illuminates your model regardless of the direction you are looking. There is also a "Shaded Full" mode that will show the effects of the lights in the scene, so you can preview what your renderings will look like in real time.

Bonzai3d makes it real easy to create some pretty complex forms, and if you also use Max or Maya, you can easily exchange files back and forth...

  • me gusta el programa es muy bueno

    Gracias por el video.

  • okay I have tried it out...but need to figure out why would I buy Bonzai3D over sketchup? Now it seems awesome..and works well for the most part.

However there are some things have yet to figure out...well lots of things...anybody use this and have any feedback...How does it work with Modo by Luxology?

  • @jetsonjoe

bonzai3d is much more robust and has many more features than does SketchUp. It also makes it very easy to create good clean geometry -- which can be very difficult in SketchUp. Check out the rest of our videos on our home page (bonzai3d (dot) com) or here on YouTube, and we are sure you will see the differences.

Bonzai3d also has many export formats, including DXF, DWG, OBJ, SAT, DAE, STL, STL, 3ds, and others so you can easily communicate with third party programs like Modo.

  • i like bonzai3d

  • mac an pc compatible?

  • @jetsonjoe

Yes, bonzai3d runs on Windows (XP and later) and MacOS X (10.5 and later). :)

  • Looks a lot like google sketchup but a lot more advanced. I might pick up a copy :)

  • Yes, exactly. If you like, you can try out the FREE Trial version from bonzai3d (dot) com!

From the Products Menu, just select bonzai3d.

(There are more tutorial videos there as well...)
