Yeh they're not a bad bike at all, i reckon they're grouse to ride I try to get mine out whenever I can which is most days, some people hang shit on them but one ride and ya hooked is what I tell'em
I'm picking up my GV650SE in two weeks. This sounds like just what I'm looking for.
Hey jason...these my not hold value like H-D does, but I've seen more H-Ds broke down on the side of the road more than imports. But you wouldn't savvy shit like that. Poser.
On the subject of these machines and their loss of value. True they aren't a Honda quality wise (I own one of these and several Hondas as well.) But if you look at the money people blow on a Harley, it will depreciate more than a GV COSTS by taking it off the showroom floor.
And $20,000 or more for pushrods and air cooling? No thanks!
I ended up getting the sports muffler for my GV650, great sound without being too loud. As far as the quality of the GV650 goes, I loved riding mine but I had a few problems. Anything that went wrong with the GV650 went wrong with mine but Hyosung have improved the bikes being made now. My GV650 was the nicest bike to ride. I sold mine because I want to get a bigger bike in a year or two. I bought a DT175 yamaha for an interum runabout because it was too good a deal, I'll make money on it.
what are you nuts? I don't know anyone who has had a Hyosung for more than a thousand miles with out having to tow there bike to the dealership to have something replaced. I have the same bike and it is a peice of crap.My gas tank is cracked and my alternator went out at 6000miles and thats only whats wrong with it this week.
i have a gt250r with 3899 miles on it and so far the only thing ive had to replace was the clutch cable, other then that nothing else has broken on it. so i agree hyosung is a good bike.
ok YOu only got 3899 miles and you had to replace the clutch cable? I have a 1982 goldwing and the only thing I've replace was tires I kid you not! Well light bulbs serously I had my clutch cable rip to on my Hyosung. Do you really think that the company being willing to skimp on something like a slightly more heavy gauge clutch cable that would be a few dollas more isn't going to skimp on the quality of the engine, bodyor transmission?at6kmiles yer clutch pads will need replaced
when you get a few thousand miles on it i promise you will get to know your local motorcycle shop mechanics real good. Trust me I'm not hating on the Hyosung.I've owned a harley, suzuki ,honda Hyosung and cheap chinese knock offs. If it makes you feel any better I rate the Hyosung above Chinese knock off bikes. Koreans build better engines than China but the Japanese ,germans and americans make much better bikes. Hyosung is junk and the depreciate by half the day you buy them
honda is in a league of it's own. Hyosung is more in competion with suzuki and kawsaki. I think the general consensus is Honda makes some of the highest quality bike in the world. If you disagree then I'm afraid that you've destroyed your creditbility. If Hyosungs are so much better then why are'nt the number of hyosung dealer increasing? I looked at there website in early 2008 and just looked now and there hasn't beed one single new hyosung dealer opening!
well do you wanna pay for a 6500 dollar bike that will be worth only 32 hundred the second you drive it off a lot or do you get a suzuki of the same vintage thats probably no more than 2 or 3hundred dollars more and sometimes not even that and be able to sell it for 5500 a few months later. Depreciation is horrible on hyosungs. I had a 2007 avatar I tried selling and the kelly blue book was only 3100$ and this was in early 2008! the bike only had 5500 miles! and It was 6500$ brandnew!
4500miles in 6 months and no problems. I have had mine over a year now and the only problem has been a bad seal in the master cylinder for the rear brakes. covered under warranty. This is one of those products thats hard to gauge.. they are either really reliable or a "p of s" I think they suffer from the made on monday syndrome....
dude far as i'm concerned if you had a master cylinder go out at 4500 miles then it's a piece of junk regardless if it's covered under warranty. If your out of town and that happened and there was only 1 hyosung mechanic 100 miles away then you'd have to pay a mechanic out of your pocket to do that work. Besides if your having to replace a major thing like that then you are undoubtedly going to have other high dollar mechanical issues to deal with when the warranty expires.
I'm not sure but I believe I have seen similar in Europe. I know the Hyosung bikes are popular in Spain so there would most likely be something there. Go ask at "pride in what you ride (dot) com" someone there will tell you.

WRONG.
Whats worse depreciation...30% off a $4,000 Hyo or 20% of a $12,000 Honda...If its me, I think I'll roll the dice on the Hyo.
Again, 15K miles, NOTHING but oil changes...or does your Harley not need oil changes either?
Must be a common misconception...that would explain why so many are on the side of the road.
BTW I traded my stretched Hayabusa in on my Hyosung. Kept overheating....LOL..yea, great engineering
