  • This was very clear. Thank you. This not only shows you how to install a seat, but how to take one off (maybe you should make a video about that). I broke the old one off, didn't see the inside slots. The internet can be great. :))

  • thankyou......my 14 yr old son has just put the new seat on!!! Must make him a list of other jobs now!!

  • @expertvillage thankyou so much for uploading this video :) I never knew how to install a toilet seat because i was never shown but i do now all thanks to this video and i just installed one as a matter of fact lol...thanks once again!

  • i guess taking the old seat is just the opposite procedure, right....? how do you open the caps, with a flat head?

  • you ever deal with rusty screw bolts to pull out on an old toilet seat ? Problem I'm having ...

  • @TheTwillerZone would it be possible to drill a small hole into the rusty bolt and use a reverse thread tapper or screw extractor on it?

  • @illustriouschin I got the bolts off with plyers. It was a bitch.

  • @TheTwillerZone I hear ya, home repair shit always get worse before it gets better, unless I just say "fuck it" and put a bucket under it.

  • @TheTwillerZone getting those bolts out are a bitch Jeff. Bit of elbow grease + WD40. - Rod

  • He's incorrect about the direction of water down the toilet. The Coriolis effect only alters the direction of large air masses across the Earth's surace.(trade winds, storms, etc,), not the way the water flows down the toilet

Yes, it is an urban myth.

  • step one: take it out of the box

    step two: install it

  • This is not all that clear... it would be nice to have some instructions as to what part goes where. Nonetheless, I think I can give it a go, so thanks anyway. Maybe if 'Bob' would speak rather than doing those caveman grunts... ?

  • Thanks guys! That really helped me. Without wanting to seem ungrateful I suggest that you add on 'How to Remove an Exisiting Toilet Seat' first.

  • Thumbs up for the science at the end. It's good to see a plumber with an education!

  • Thank you for sharing! My drunken roommate just busted the toilet seat in half. Now I know how install a new one.

  • thanks, I fixed my toilet seat finally

  • thanks but how do you take off the old one

  • Hold those nuts Bob. Hold them tight.

  • Its true that the water swirls backward but its just the way there designed there are no forces involved. But i found the video helpful thanks!
