That wasn't ever even close to being one of the reasons mentioned for invading Iraq; a sovereign nation (however fucked up it was) for the first time in our history. The reason for invasion was because of the bullshit threat they hyped into our paranoid consciousness after 9/11. The whole "freedom" bullshit has been the catchphrase after it was revealed there was no threat to us. We can't go around freeing the world if it doesn't affect us. Why aren't we in Africa in numbers. Way worse situation

Where did i state in my comment that was a hero?? I never said that he was. Plus, more people than just Nugent ran away from the draft. He's just one out of the group that did. I'm not saying that it's a good thing to dodge a draft, I'm saying to stay out of someone's personal life. And that other person that took Nugent's place most likely would have been drafted anyway.

Funny how that was originally played on the electric guitar to symbolize american strife...the war...the chaos of the times. And people flipped and were mad. Now a gun-loving, right wing washed up ex-rock star plays it to a bunch of hillbillys in San Antonio (with out as much symbolic/poetic license sonic symbolism)and it's accepted as American pride. dude Ted Nugent is a guitarist/entertainer. he's not some politician so he shouldn't even NEED to answer it. I know he did express his thoughts by agreeing to go on Glenn Beck's show on here, but personally i don't blame him for any of it. Seeing as how the American government is now i don't see why he wouldn't agree to it.
It also DOES NOT matter if you're a coward or not when you're a guitarist/songwriter. You keep you're thoughts to yourself or you put 'em into a song.

No one said Nugent didn't come up with some good riffs in the 70's. One of the first songs I learned on guitar was Cat Scratch Fever. But he, as the rest of the insignificant right and Republican party (I vote Democrat but if I disagreed with a democrat and liked a Republican, like Ron Paul for example, I'd go for them. I'm not a zombie robot like they all are now) equates patriotism with superficial slogans and has an agenda to disagree with anything the current president says. Thats UNAMERICAN
