ohhhh that's a clever way to get the meat out of the coconut. I always crack it in half with a hammer and have coconut chips flying everywhere haha.

my god i have done this many many times i thought i was the only one. i did not use the flesh and water to make a smoothie though i used it as a type of pasta substitute i stopped doing it because the qaulity of the flesh is very hit and miss. sometimes it is lovely, tender and sometimes it is close to mature coconut and unusable. I also only drink the young coconut water occasionaly because its high in sugars wiich i cant tolerate.
