Any ideas on why when I drop in cross disolves or any other FCP transitions need rendering? Each transition always ends up with a red line in the timeline and this is an 8 core machine.

Whenever I put a transition to my pieces, some of them make me stutter in the video. Any idea? I stuttered in the original one-piece file but i took pieces from it so that words were not repeated and took clips out and set them up on the timeline. side by side, they run into another and u hear no stutter and no transition. then i add transition and you hear a stutter or echo or something. For transitions, does it take extra or old footage? WHAHHTHTHTHHTHT.

Guess what? I did what you did and it FUCKED everything up. Im so pissed with this program. Why is it so fucking hard and complicated to make a damn video. SHouldnt it be easy? iMovie sucks, everything sucks. i selected all clips, dragged it to the canvas and transitioned it. but for some reason the beginning clip doesnt transition with the next. it goes black and then the next clip fades in. so i do it manually and it doubles the audio at some parts and now my other clip has audio that i cut!!!

No it's "Command Z" - it's a Mac

You can also right click on your edit point and your default transition will be one of the options.
