My uncle lives in Chesapeake, and he warned us about Emporia. So, I drove the speed limit from I-85 all the way to Chesapeake. Damn, was that hell of a long drive.
There should be a higher speed connection between Hampton Roads and I-95 and Hampton Roads and I-85.
that vid must be from Brunswick County or near the Brunswick/Mecklenburg county line. Hey where did you get that info about Interstate 4? with the amount of traffic that rides 58 the best thing is to probably leave it like it is...just add a few rest stops like Rt 29 is in Danville through nc
A beautiful, pre-Inerestate, four-lane highway. I didn't mean for Inerstate 4 down there in Florida to be involved. The roads I meant were those like The Mighty Lincoln Highway, Route 20, Route 66, etc. Sorry about the confusion.
Still 55mph with a very few sections set at a dangerous 60mph. No need to worry, the small-town cops around there are armed to the teeth with all kinds of electronic speed measuring devices. Be careful
Hey vbdenny. Back in '86 my drummer was comming back from Fl and got a ticket in Emporia for speeding and driving on a suspended license. He called me at 3am to drive up from Va Beach to bail him out of jail. I asked him why he was speeding on a suspended license and he said "Because I was in a hurry". Needless to say I rolled over and went back to sleep. BSP
I <3 driving on US 58, especially on the new sections around Mecklenburg County. I've driven the route end to end -- it gets very curvy from Galax for much of the 90 miles west to around Weber City.
one of my dreams - driving along a highway and listening to chilling music

Seems everyone is in a hurry BSP. ANyone who speeds in Emporia probably needs a good head examination. DO you play Beatles songs in local clubs?
