Arpaio and his goons are even more evil than the criminals they oversee. The whole MCSO system is broken and corrupt. They have personalized handbooks for rules by Arpaio himself. By the time the Dept of Justice and Homeland Security get done with them they will be shut down. In order to clean out the corruption in Maricopa, at least 60% of the satff must be replaced. Granted jail should not be a fun place but that should not allow people with badges to get away with felonies.

I was just in Durango and it was the most degrading thing Ive ever experienced. Wait till YOU or your grandmother do something petty and you get treated like an animal for a week or more. Im not even from this state but I can say I been to Durango jail and "the matrix" to as they call it and "the boot " all of which were very unsanitary unsafe the guards made threats to me and i was only in the jail for about 10 minutes its bullshit the way things are here the food if you can call it that you dont even know wtf it is i was there for 12 days and i didnt eat nothing 2 guys had mercer and they left him in there with the rest of us i understand we brake the law but we are still human

The only way his death was discovered was by an anonymous call to Phoenix NewTimes. A laywer picked up on the case but it hasn't gone to court yet. Wrongful death lawsuits from Arpaio's jails number at least 60. Although large financial settlements are collected, no guard has ever been held accountable.

The Arizona Court of Appeals on Tuesday ordered Maricopa County Sheriff Joseph Arpaio to pay additional attorney's fees in the Tuscon Citizens open records case.

The appellate court awarded the paper $29,403.65 in fees, which comes on top of the trial courts award. Arpaio now owes a total of $54,644 in fees.

Aripaio was liable for the fees because he lost.

He was arrested for being brown in Maricopa County. He was let go. Other's weren't so lucky. They had their carts/livelihood taken, spent a week in Arpaio's hell hole and were sent across the border-only to return again if they survived the 4 day hike through the deadly Az desert in July.
