That's awesome! Just wondering,did you have to ask for clearance to fly over Dyess? I just know the air base here you can't fly over at all,so I didn't know if your case was different. How long does it take to get your private?

If I remember correctly I was at an altitude above Dyess' Airspace; either that or I was outside of it lateraly, but, either way, I did not have to ask for permission. It took me about 4 months to gain my private at Addison Airport, but I was 16 at the time and was going flying about 2 or 3 times per week. The more often you go, the less time it takes.

Thanks. Not only did I get to see my old home town of Monahans but you made me realize I needed to go back and finish getting my private.
