@indskab I would suggest getting hooked up to the internet. Perhaps you could invest in broadband if its available where you live. Even a 1mbps connection would suffice.

However, I believe there is a way for your PS3 to share an internet connection with a laptop. You should google how to do this as it should work with a 3g modem. Good luck.

HDMI, especially if you have surround sound as it is digital, so it should degrade less. It would probably future proof you too as I can't see HDMI cables going defunct any time soon.

Last time I checked in my local games store they didn't have any 40gigs left, but the new 80gig looks  better deal anyway as it is essentially the same, but just runs cooler. I would get a ps3 if your xbox broke 4 times. Thats just ridiculous

NTSC and PAL are still an issue

NTSC standard definition is 480i and in HD = 480p

PAL standard definition is 576i and in HD = 576i

PAL Versions are big disturbance here in Philippines... some stores here are cheating and they are giving the PAL not the NTSC

its not actually still an issue. HD is 720p/1080i while full HD is 1080p. It is the standard accross the world, and the ps3 supports all 3

yeah that's right I did a setup.. In Philippines we are 220v Im using 110v transformer and I've managed to create US PS3 account although I live in Philippines I can download anything directly in US PlayStation Store.. some Filipinos have made mistake buying PS3 because they choose the Asian Version PS3 and the worst thing is they got a PAL Version and its not working on their TV's.. all my US Version games are compatible with my PS3 I dont encounter any freezing or error codes

cool i have an asian ps3 and im glad i dont need a converter (my old gamecube had a power brick AND a transformer!). A nice way to get round PAL/NTSC issues is to use a HDTV as the number of pixels on a US HDTV would be the same as one from asia (depending on whether its 720p or 1080i/p but that isnt relevant now).

btw i have a US and singapore account both on an asian PS3.

it depends whether u have any 360 exclusive games u still want to play.if thats the case, keep the 360, if they are games u can get on ps3, sell 360 and get a ps3, if u dont play any 360 games, definately get a ps3!

No mate thats the xbox360. Apparently the 40gb ps3 is more efficient than the other ps3s and uses less electricity etc so I would recommend it if you dont need ps2 compatibility or flash card slots :)

all models of ps3s can have problems its not like the 80 gb ps3 wont get problems its just that .02% of all ps3 consoles may be faulty. better than the 360s much higher rate. so basically we can say that the ps3 gets problems as much as wii does. its a good quality product trust me out of the 15+ friends of mine with ps3 dont have any problems so only a few do and if you do get a problem return and get another one
