@murderousbastard83 How many bits a system is (the number of bits refers to the chips used) has relatively little to do with how good the graphics are (though the exact chips chosen does have a large part to do with it). Intellivision had a 16-bit CPU, and the NEC PC Engine had an 8-Bit CPU with a 16-bit GPU. The Sega Master System, Colecovision, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and Osborne-1 all used variants of the 8-bit Z80. This whole "bits equals graphics" myth is pure garbage and marketing hype.
looks and sounds like a Amiga game. That is a GOOD thing, but 64 bit? no. Atari hyped the 64-bit thing too much, maybe raising expectations too high?!
This was one of the better 2d scrollers on the JaG, the control is hard on noobies but once you have played it a while you get use to it...I actually beat this game when it first came out.
Great music in this level! Gosh, look how tall those tables and chairs are comparing with Bubsy! That Cheshere cat scares me now, could he be Bubsy's evil brother? ;)
Well check out this video at 39 seconds. You just make sure to jump and glide at them to not be hit by the electric yoyo... and then time the poison balloons right. They release one from the left, and then the right, and then the left. Just jump on the one that is not releasing a baloon. After you got that down, they are incredibly easy.
Wow this is bubsy!? I was surprised cuz the music actually sounds good and isn't kiddy in this version. sounds like some music they would put in Contra or something lol.
Contra? Have to check that out. But yeh the music is mentioned to be more like an Amiga game than kiddie like. In truth this particular game makes you wonder if this was just some nightmare of Bubsy. Still more real and cannon to bubsy than Bubsy 3D in my book.
I also wanted to say that I never liked Bubsy II it was too weird with all the doors and just not fun to me. The first bubsy game was really tight because the levels went from point A to point B but Bubsy II had levels that were more like puzzels making you go to many doors. I did beat the game though but I never had much fun.
Bubsy II was compartively easy compared to Bubsy or Bubsy:FFT (Jaguar). However, I did like the gadgets in Bubsy II, like the cartoon hole to climb through and disappear, the nerf gun, the pies. Good stuff.
LOL! You have a Jag? Wouldn't say it is the BEST system ever, but it is unique in that few collect for it, has a lot of programming utilities, and a lot of good starting potential. So a neat niche in its own self. Best system ever? I'd go with the Atari 7800
(due to it being able to play the 2600 & 7800 titles) or the lonnnggg line of Gameboy cartridges. Of course my main game system for the longest time and probably most played was the Atari 400/800 Computer games. ;)
music sounds like chocolate rain!

Dear god! How did this system get away with calling itself 64-bit ? The PS1 had far better graphics!

Ugh, that game's so frustrating. Refresh my memory: how do you get past Tweedledee and Tweedledum?

I don't think it will be, because now most of players want pure violence and stuff... and they want 3D too.
Phwn 4 years ago
Well, the Jaguar emulator is out there, and will run at almost true speed on faster Macs and Pc's, so there you go! :)
doctorclu 4 years ago
I've done the 15 levels, but I've never succeded on killing the final boss (hänsel & gretel), I was only 10 though.
Phwn 4 years ago
Well, hope you enjoyed seeing the outcome. I hope that one day this game can be emulated on other platforms so that others can enjoy it.

never played it before, though I saw it in a couple of magazines. I wish i could've played it though :)

Jaguar-Bubsy=$40-$50....
But then there are also emulators. :)
doctorclu 5 years ago
Always sounded and looked like a high end Amiga game to me, maybe like on the CD32 or something.
GuruLarry 5 years ago
The developers apparently never thought of improving the Bubsy'a animation.

When was this game made?

1994 I believe.
doctorclu 5 years ago
I think Atari spent as much money on the gameplay as they did on the graphics engine, too bad Jag never caught on!
