i have a 05 tundra now after i totalled a 04 taco :( before the taco i had a 93 toyota truck with a 22re. bulletproof motor. top 5 in the world.

The noise of RESTRICTION! That has a much smaller surface area than the correct oversized paper filter, so the holes are bigger. That means bigger bits of dirt in to the engine and it blocks faster. Stick to the paper filter for more power and NO RESTRICTION. Try both on a rolling road and you wouldn't waste your money again!

@beetle269 we dont sell those kind of things but we do sell turbo intercooler kits.. i made this out of left over intercooler piping that was in the stock area..

lol I wouldn't think you gained 15hp at the time you made the vid, but if you still have the truck, put the intake on the driver's side and the intake on the passenger side. helps alot :)

i put a 180 degree pipe on intake and put cone filter on there, so the intake isn't breathing in the hot air next to the header...plus the filter is higher next to the fire wall for water crossings

it looks like you kept the bottom of the filter box, is that what the maf and filter are sitting on?

are you also using 2.5 or 2.75 pipe?

i had one built for my 22re it cost me labor and thats it, they used a 2 1/2 x 4inch plate and a piece of exhaust tube to connect the filter to the mas airflow sensor

where did you get the adapter for the mass air flow sensor to fit that filter? I have a 1990 22RE and an after market filter will not fit without that square adapter. any suggestions will help. thanks

what is the difference between an 85to88 cold air intake and an 89 to 95 cold air intake. there is 1 on ebay that im looking at but it only saids 89 to 95. would an 89 to 95 fit on my 86 22re.

thanks man.. yeah it was pretty easy to do, but i did have time to do it becuz im always busy, nest step is get a 5 speed tranny, then suspension and next bolt-on's.. yeah i took off the a/c compressor belt so it feels more faster then taking off the power steering, i spank all these heavy ass trucks, silverado's, yukon's,tahoe's,sierra,suburba­n ehh they can never acnt up to me lol.. 22re it's ranked top 10 engines that seem to last forever FTW 22RE <33 !!!!!

That intake setup looks nice under the hood! good install, and I bet you can really feel the extra power too.

Since performance parts are plentiful for the 22RE, I will probably modify mine when I get the money up to the 150-170 hp level. Or I could just buy a 22RET turbo engine with 140 hp and leave it stock! lol

Look up LC Engineering. A header,cam,and head work make a real big difference in those engines.

Clean engine bay, not bad intake install. But I believe the breather is not supposed to be going into the atmosphere. I cant remember what it goes to but I want to say it has to do with your EVAP. A knowledgeable by-the-book SMOG tech will fail you for having it set up that way.
