  • I'm a big fan of Catherine Wheel, Ride, Swervedriver, My Bloody Valentine, Blur, Pale Saints, Lush etc. etc.

  • I like it-- it's on the very ragged edge of breaking and just sustains forever and ever with subtle modulations.

  • Forever looping.

  • Try it with an e-bow!

  • Could you please name all of your pedals?

  • lmao this sounds the smoke's alarm from Lost.

  • cover some slowdive

  • Put some deep base arpeggios layered under this similar to Radiohead "All I Need" and this would be absolutely amazing......truth be told...it is already amazing. Will hve my rig complete soon and begin making lush soundscapes.

  • Great sounds man!

  • Floating in Space.

  • listening to shoegaze, gazing at my converse.

  • Reminds me of Stars of the Lid.

  • @alluringlights Hey man, do you have any success with MBV/ fleeting joys style warpy power chords? satellite for example

  • Love this tune

  • ive never heard of this "shoegazing" music, so i looked it up. its Really Fascinating that the name really does mean Shoe Gazing.

  • Btw this sounds really awesome. You could also set up another delay with shorter repeats on top of the delay you're using now and throw in a chorus and nail that Robin Guthrie sound. It took me a while to get it dialed in but it was worth it. Loving the sound though. Check my page and I have some videos up using a couple delays, a DD6 and an Ibanez delay/echo through a Deluxe and a Fender Jaguar Blacktop. I think you'd enjoy it. Cheers!

  • What's the Boss Dig Reverb set on? I'm considering picking one up soon and I make music in the same vein.

  • Ohh shoegazing is it? haha nice and seems suitable. I suppose I'm a shoegazer then..

  • I'm thinking about getting this amp. I only need to know whether it will be too loud for my purposes, I'm mainly a bedroom player who tries to get out and jam with people as much as possible. I found some really great deals on these used, but I think 40w tube might be too much.

  • I love how everyone loves this... It's just exactly what Shoegazing should be like =)

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • Veeeeeeeery good

  • eh shoegaze music isnt as hard or as expensive to produce as everyone makes it out to be, i can get all the tones i want with a behringer blues over drive and chorus with a EHX cathedral reverb going into a shitty 5watt mini marshall, SHOEGAZE Y U SOUND SO COMPLEX?

  • @VictorC53 In my opinion, it isnt that hard to do. Just gotta have the TECHNOLOGY. Which.... i currently do not have :(

Which forces me to use my amp's built-in effects. :/

  • @ZcSoldierRS oh oh my time to shine, okay okay budget stuff! get a metal keg of a decent size and learn how to make a reverb keg thing, and then just add distortion and/or chorus whilst using le whammy bar, but if you dont have le whammy bar lift the bridge up with le fingers like veector used to do =D

  • Best sound ever! Dreamy though emotional.. What are your delay settings?

  • Atrapamiento mental de la mente !

  • What pedal are you using for that most awesone ambient sound?

  • @imnotyou26 Just a good old fashioned reverb pedal.

  • Hey hope you could come check out the project I'm working on at the moment. It will help me out a lot. @TheDownAndOutKS is my old account in case you were wondering lol. Here's the new link: /watch?v=Mewcuf_7x_E

  • nice sounds man

  • How are you getting the shimmer sound? Is that the Boss RV-5, or whatever that is?

  • @iscareuiknowit yes! I believe it's the modulated setting.....not quite sure!

  • @alluringlights Luv the sounds bro! who says you need keyboards for ambient! I have the same amp. With MXR CC Analog Delay and Digitech rp1000. Mix an analog and digital delay mixed right with those fender Tubes plus alittle mixed down flange and chorus and your flying

  • You should jam with Robin Guthrie

  • Aaaaa big muff.. classic

  • Awesome demo sir! What's your setting on your reverb?

  • i feel like this is more like "slowdive" type shoegaze than like "my bloody valentine" shoegaze

  • are you on the drive channel?

  • Never understood why so many people like Boss, it's so sterile. The Hardwire RV7 completely blows the Boss RV5 out of the water.

  • @ordinarydayindayout Its the modulated reverb that people love about the RV5

  • @Danthehorse and the modulated reverb on the RV7 is so much better it's rediculous.

  • Gorgeous sound, man!

  • This is gorgeous and it's the way creative music is bound to evolve.

  • no...the key to shoegaze is the midiverb 2 bloom effect...(reverse reverb)

  • sounds fantastic.

  • Sounds so lush!

  • Hey man-love this! I play this style but never knew it was shoegazer. I always think of Syd Barrett era ... More psychedelic music

  • This is awesome. I've been trying to categorize my own music, but it just has so many different elements, all I could really say is alternative new-progressive shoegaze space post-rock.

  • @RedSandStudios you must be freaking amazing i'll be sure to listen

  • Hey alluringlights, is your amp at all modded?

  • @sanchito1975 Nope.

  • Who the hell disliked this? Good stuff. Reminds me of Slowdive and Cocteaus. I have the same amp and delay pedal. It's cool to hear someone else doing these sounds with some of the same gear.

  • @Crucifixism Precisely the two artists I was trying to sound like! No idea about the dislike though. Haha.

  • @alluringlights You can't please everyone.

  • @alluringlights You should account for the trolls and such people who look up videos purely to dislike them. I like this, sounds good. I imagine it's pretty expensive to accumulate so many pedals and cables, is it?

  • @Crucifixism Yeahh

  • ahaha, great minds think alike - I run a little big muff pi and rv-5. been trying to get my hands on a good delay pedal, way costly though. my next pedal purchase will be a digital delay of some sort.

  • ..sounds bit like Slow Light from Moby´s Wait For Me album ;-)

  • ..sounds bit like Slow Light from Moby´s Wait For Me..

  • do you have any good shoegaze setting for your DD7? I have one setting that i quite like, but i want some for reference as i'm fairly new to writing shoegaze

  • @HitmanJenkins1 The key to shoegaze is a "layered" guitar sound, so the initial repeats should be at least as loud as the original dry signal. This can be done by turning the effect level to 3 o'clock (or further). The result (when combined with heavy reverb) is an amorphous swirl of notes. I use an external footswitch to make the repeats occur in time with the song, but this is actually totally unnecessary. As for feedback, I just try to keep it back far enough to prevent squealing.

  • @alluringlights thanks mate

  • nice work.., what effect did you use? I like that sound..

  • @SpittingFeather It's all in the description, my friend. Thanks for watching!

  • @alluringlights What settings did you use for the DD-7 and reverb.

  • @paytenl12 The RV-5 is on the "modulate" setting, which gives the reverb tail a bit of a shimmer. It actually kind of howls a bit when I dig into the guitar... to beautiful effect. Time and effect level are both cranked. That's all I remember.

  • thumbs up, mate! hrdlx rules :)

  • amazing sound!!

  • Beautiful! Nice work!
