Solar-panel maker Solyndra may be the highest profile startup failure of the year. The company filed for bankruptcy in September after receiving $535 million in loan guarantees from the government. The shutdown became an embarrassment for the Obama administration, as the president made a public appearance there and the company was the first renewable-energy company to receive a loan under the federal stimulus program.
@skunkarific At an Aptera customer appreciation event in Carslbad, CA. This car has since been redesigned to be terrible and probably won't come out at all. Sad, because it was so beautiful to see and ride in.
@rjayz2 Aptera was abducted by new leadership who decided to re-design the car with old ideas, leaving innovation and efficiency behind in favor of an ugly, overweight, and unimpressive monster.
I'll be impressed when they put a turbine/hybrid with regenerative braking.
