  • I was young then but I still remember original commercials, the turkey being sawed in half along with that table and his hands caught in the window.

Media conglomerate advertising could still take notes on this down home approach, but they would only tarnish this style of advertising.

  • Love you, Jim. Thanks for the laughs. I'm still laughing in fact, and will continue to laugh...you're just that good.

  • I just now realized that's Jim standing at the window in the background at 0:36 :D

  • Oh my goodness, I haven't seen the one with him in the candy, lol! XD I hope someone posts that one some day!

  • @milquest I swear I'll wear that out on my DVD. I can't stop laughing at him in that Valentine's Day candy, goof ups and all. I would post it if I knew how.

  • I love Jim Varney. He's My Hero 4 EVER! R.I.P. JIM VARNEY 1949-2000!

  • I thought Jim Varney was a local celeb. His character, Ernest, used to hock for local dairy stores. I loved the commerical where Vern was lifting weights and Ernest peaked into the window. At the end, the window slammed on Ernest's fingers. "Vern! My hands are caught!"

  • Thanks for posting...interesting to see how the Ernest character was popular long before the movies came out.
