  • Sounds like some random girl has just sung on top of the drum and vocal mix

  • So consistent

  • I'm pretty sure Dave recorded every part of this entire song and album

  • The female on backing vocals is the singer of veruca salt.Dave also did drums on this album not Taylor. He joined the band around the time they did the band photos so they put him in.

  • @elcapitan216 Do you have a source to confirm that it was the singe of Veruca Salt? On Wikipedia, only Dave is credited for the vocals, though, Pat was known for his backing vocals and was also in the studio recording TCATS. Look at watch?v=HDl2NtA8gu4 and tell me that it's a female singer once more, Pat is just a weird singer. :)

  • Does anybody know what the phonecall part of the song says? All I hear is "Sundays"

  • how could u say dave grohl is a female singer.. yur stupid.. thats obvisly dave doing backing either that or the drummer of foo fighters, he does all the backign vocals dave does lead but im guessing in the recording studio he does most of the work

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 i think its taylor (drummer)

  • @nirvana4evr11 he does it live but mabye sometimes recorings too

  • My god i finnaly found out wtf dave did in the drum fill for the chorus, he uses ghost notes while he's hitting the snaree fuuuuuuck that's impossible to notice in the normal song. Thxxx man, u improved my perfomance, now i can play it more perfecly...

  • Drums only mix link does not work :S

  • Your link to the drum-only track doesn't work.

  • I'd love to listen to a Dave Grohl full album with him doing everything by himself.

  • Get the first album, its all done by dave himself

  • @Dillyboyee Buy the first Foo Fighters album...It's all DAVE except for 1 tune (Greg Dhulli plays gtr on 1 tune)...the rest is all Dave (the band members appear in the artwork but they don't play on and Dave plays on all tracks on the 2nd album (except for track 1....Taylor Hawkins wasn't a member at this time and Dave canned the drummer.

  • @TheUnlimitedTechno This album was basicly done by grohl himself.

  • @TheUnlimitedTechno Foo Fighters first album, it's self titled. He did everything except for a guitar track on ONE song.

  • Did you forget to pan the drums or something?

  • please send the mastetracks to me

  • Taylor is an amazing drummer. He played in a band with my friend Sean in Huntington Beach before he was famous.

  • the drums on everlong was recorded by dave ghrol.

  • yeah he, but just to let you know this is Dave drummin'

  • :D

    D:

how the fuck does he do that

    that's awesome !

  • Dave recorded drums on the entire second album- Everlong was done before Taylor came along. He is a decent drummer but not "amazing". Grohl is amazing!

  • I'd heard this song a million times, and it was kinda spooky to realize that this whole time there was this backing vocal, which I can always make out now.

  • That's Louise Post's voice in the backing vocals.

  • She's not credited on the record?

  • @Johnyevil its not a female.. thats grohl with his harmonies

  • @yoyoyospaghettio i think the voice at 2:04 is the female voice.

  • Dave Grohl has a great voice... you can definately hear a bit of Kurt in Dave's singing style

  • only if youre stoned, how could you say that?

  • im just saying Dave sometimes uses the same style as Kurt Cobain did

i mean they WERE in the same band for however long. lol

  • Not long

  • The snare is just unbelievable sounding.

  • download the multitracks from rockband, rockband2 and more on my channel, new vids coming soon

  • what do you think hes saying at 3:15

  • I remeber reading somewhere that Dave used that part to just help inhance the vocals of the song but all he really did was muffle his words as he read a driving instruction manual and a few other things aloud. I think I read it on wikipedia so I don't know if it's right or not.

  • it was 3 tracks recordings of him reading random stuff, one was an instruction manual, then a love letter, idk what else

  • During the instrumental break, three indecipherable tracks whispered by Grohl can be heard. The exact wordings are unknown, but according to the official Foo Fighters newsgroup FAQ, the source materials are a love letter, a technical manual, and a story about a studio technician's father. Grohl himself has only confirmed the use of the technical manual.

  • he says: "So Dad would take the Sunday's off, and that's the only time he could ever get any rest, and so, because we were loud on Sundays, He'd make us hold his construction suits over our head, till we'd sleep and they were really heavy, and it only had one sleeve, but we'd start crying, because it's too heavy.. and..."

If you don't believe me bbsdotfoofightersdotcomslashshowthreaddotphp?t=126154

  • yeah mate that's spot on..

  • good stuff....but the guitar came in at that same time-.- lol...i heard it tho

  • Hmm...gd but i miss the base lol

  • real tight

  • thats louise whats her face from Veruca Salt. They were dating at the time.

  • what does he say between 3.08 and 3.22

sounds like he says : if We`re loud we dont get any rest, but if we`re loud on sundays : then i cant hear anytrhink else.

  • Hey, you got that from Wikipedia.

  • hmmm interesting, but to me it sounds like Louise Post, but it could easily be Dave singing high with a strange effect. If you listen to the song "Touch" which was recorded around the time of this album (I think?) it sounds like her....

  • Hey any chance you could upload the drum/vocal audio (this track) somewhere? I would really appreciate it :)

  • Drums only mix is now in the info box. Click more info.

  • @weeniebeenie67 please reupload the drum mix

  • I've heard this song a million times, but hearing isolated tracks like this really makes one see them in a new light and develop a new appreciation for them. If it only it were easy to listen to more songs this way.

  • I think it is him using effects, because there is no one credited in the liner notes. As feminine as it sounds, its 100% possible. I really don't think we've got this huge controversial discovery here.

  • also i dont think its a femal backing vocal, i think its just dave with some kind of talk box or something

  • yea i think so too

  • most amazing thing ever
