  • craaaaaapppppp

  • Certain top notch -- they make their transitions absolutely seamless. What a totally wonderful set and video!!

  • Anyone know the names of the other tunes?

  • @ianmcdonagh the last one is the high reel. horslips did a good version of it,

  • @CaptainHousty And the second one is The Tulla Reel I think

  • why called the Glasgow reel as its in Scotland?

  • @seonidh It is also called the Tamlyn Reel

  • @MaidinRealta yes the vharacter Tam Lynn was a hero in a scottish shapeshifter story/legend as the balad of Tam lynn. I dont think the reel and the song are related though but the Irish guy who wrote the song in the 1980s did give it a scottish flavour with a name like the Glasgow reel or Tam Lynn. Maybe he likes scotland?

  • @seonidh .....the guy who wrote it was Davey Arthur, an irish musician in a folk band called the The Fureys and Davey Arthur..the legend and the reel are not related but davey lived in edinburgh, scotland for a number of years whilst growing up...thus the connection. the reel is called Tam Linn..

  • We've been using this song to practice our treble reel at my dance school.

  • @LCMS343 Yea we done our treble reel to this one too! Its hard though, especially if some of the steps mean you have to go really fast!

  • A cheerful teardrop)))))))))))))))))

  • I adore The Glasgow Reel. There is just something special about that song that is different from my other favorite traditional Irish songs.

  • i am from saudi arabia but i love this music

  • im a irish dancer and i love this sort of music its nice and fast++

  • My teacher always plays this when he wants us to dance faster.

  • I dance with the Niall O'Leary school of Irish Dance in New York City. He plays this in class sometimes. I'm in his adult beginner's class. I just started hard shoe two weeks ago. It requires a lot of practice.

  • Terrific musicianship! As a lover of traditional sound, I thought the drumset was out of place. I think a bodhran would have been much more appropriate. But, you get 5 stars from me just the same!

  • Its nice to see an Irish band play a Scottish tune like Tam lin. I dont know why its called the Glasgow reel though?

  • @seonidh.... its not a scottish tune....its an irish reel......and its not called the glasgow reel, its called TAM LINN....

  • The drumset is not very out of place, considering it has been common in Ceilidh Bands for years.

  • the second tune is called the tulla reel and the third is the high reel

  • The other name for it is Tam Lin

  • Ok. This reel has 2 names, Glasgow Reel and another one i cant remember. Actually it probably has a few names like many other tunes do. The 2nd tune is called tulla. And this tune is always played at dancing comps because of the rhythm. =D
