THE ANSWER God made you, but he didn't make you gay. Yes, you were born gay - it was not your choice but God didn't do it. What happened was God originally made everyone straight; then sin entered the world and corrupted creation. (called the Fall of Man). Sin causes birth defects etc. God didn't plan for anybody to have a birth defect - they just started to happen after man became more and more sinful.

The reason so many people think that being gay isn't a biological or genetic is because they think God made us individually, and he has no flaws in his work. I Personally know many people that are not gay, that make no claim to Christianity or "salvation" who say they enjoy same sex relations as well as opposit sex intercourse. About this, have you heard of the Kinsey Scale? This is basically a scale based on the theory that sexuality is not a black and white issue, and that there are shades of grey. It goes from 0-7, with 0 being totally Hetereo, and 7 being totally Gay. I think you define sexuality in a very different way than most people. You seem to say that "being gay" or "being straight" is only defined by your actions. When you were a young teen and had never had sex, were you still straight? Certainly I would agree with you that your actions are a choice. But I define gay/straight by your preference, and in that way, being gay or straight is not a choice, because we cannot choose our preferences. I guess it's semantics.
I disagree to some extent. People are not born with it, but the environment they grow up in is definitely a factor. We have desires, but we can CHOOSE whether or not to live that lifestyle. For example, if I say "It's cold outside," I'm not using Webster's second definition: marked by a lack of the warmth of normal human emotion, friendliness, or compassion.
You can just look at the one definition. For example, I would say I have a preference for cookies over cake. I didn't choose to like the taste of cookies more than cake, but I prefer it.

I Personally know many people that are not gay, that make no claim to Christianity or "salvation" who say they enjoy same sex relations as well as opposit sex intercourse. From what they tell me it is just a thrill like I would enjoy something different now and then. As far as I am concerned wrong is wrong. But this to me proves homosexual sex is a preference like any other form of sex.

About this, have you heard of the Kinsey Scale? This is basically a scale based on the theory that sexuality is not a black and white issue, and that there are shades of grey. It goes from 0-7, with 0 being totally Hetereo, and 7 being totally Gay. It's possible that these people are at 1, which is where there almost completely straight, but enjoy this kind of fling everynow and then. I can provide a link to the scale if you want it.

There hasn't been enough scientific research done yet to determine if "hermaphrodytes" and other transgendered people are "genetic mutations", or why this occurs in nature. But one thing is very clear: These are people, and just like ourselves they are entitled to love, respect, dignity and equal rights under the law. Those who attempt to marginalize these already outcast people and teach prejudice are doing the opposite of what Jesus taught us. As far as I'm concerned that's real "sin".

I agree with this, sexual abuse of children is immoral so it doesnt matter if they feel an attraction, because the act of doing it is damaging to the children. Same thing with bestiality, that would definitely be inhumane treatment of animals, like rape. But sexual orientation and gay sex is about attraction to other Human Beings, and it doesn't harm others, in fact its where love often starts. It's normal, healthy sexual behavior the same as for heterosexuals. Too much prejudice.

Btw, scientists examine bestiality nowadays more seriously and without prejudice and some say it's another sexual orientation just like homosexuality. I tend to agree, as long as no animal is harmed.
As for pedophilia, I'm not sure if a child is harmed when having normal sex. Of course, raping must be punished to the hardest extend of the law, just like adult rape. other than that, we have to examine more. :)

Thanks Shairaptor, but you cannot compare sexual orientation among human beings to things like bestiality and pedophilia, for the reasons already stated. Read again what I wrote. The 'scientists' your referring to need to look a little closer, because to even suggest that children and animals aren't harmed is absolutely inexcusable. And to use that comparison to sexual orientation is also ignorant. Child and animal abuse has nothing to do with sexual orientation.

And yes it is defined as sexual orientation, I'm not making this up. It's a bit narrow minded to just skip that aspect. And bestiality is allowed in several us states as well as throughout whole Europe - except England afaik.

Of course sex is not the same as abuse. But make no mistake, children are terribly and often permanently harmed by sexual abuse. And while I don't have a lot of experience working with the victims of "bestiality" it isn't hard to see how this is also abusive in nature, given the power dynamic. If somebody on wikipedia defined this as a sexual "orientation" they've made a mistake. Not surprising given Wikipedia's unreliable nature. Comparing these things with sexual orientation is a bad idea.

i am gay & i am a catholic, i pray every night for God to take away the sexuality, i dont like being gay, i hate it, i dont like myself for being gay, i am with a girl & have been for 3.5 years to try make the gay go away but it has not, i feel depressed with a girl & it does not feel natural, i then feel normal with a man, although after sex i feel dirty & disgusted in myself, so do u think i could just turn of the gay? no i cant no matter how much i try. so people are wrong about that!!!

I think you define sexuality in a very different way than most people. You seem to say that "being gay" or "being straight" is only defined by your actions. When you were a young teen and had never had sex, were you still straight? Certainly I would agree with you that your actions are a choice. But I define gay/straight by your preference, and in that way, being gay or straight is not a choice, because we cannot choose our preferences. I guess it's semantics.

I disagree to some extent. People are not born with it, but the environment they grow up in is definitely a factor. We have desires, but we can CHOOSE whether or not to live that lifestyle. I've heard of many people who were delivered from homosexuality because their heart was truly seeking God and His deliverance. It's not natural, and its not what the Lord intended for us. But its an individual choice to seek the Lord's deliverance. and NO ONE has the right to judge. We are ALL sinners

None of peoples business, wish that was true, because they bring it to you, of course it would be fine if they left it in there room but now they want to teach kids in 2nd grade about it, that is uncalled for. I say keep it in there room but that never happens especially if we tolerate it everyone will be gay. In my experience of life I have known many gays mostly friends but they seem never able to hold back on just being friends even they know I am straight, I'm tired of it.

I dont have to prove it, you already did by admitting that it is choice by simply justifying homosexuality. Justification is also a choice. Being male isnt a choice, neither is being female. your born with it. Your either male or female, thats the law. If that is so, homosexuality is an attempt to break that law which makes being gay a choice. if you cant understand that you are confused. point proved, homosexuality is rebellion and mockery against a law brought on by confusion.

Being gay is a choice. You chose to be that way despite how u may or may not feel. Being born black or white is not a choice. People say well homosexuality is found in nature and they use this as a way to further their argument. However, they fail to realize that nature falls under original sin as well and thus too is cursed. Mankind was given dominion and when he fell not only was he affected but nature too. Its biblical! So being gay is a choice its an action regardless of the stimulus.

is a genetic and biological Attraction to the same sex. Homosexuality in a committed loving relationship is no more a sin than heterosexuality. SEX is a choice but you see there is far more to homosexuality than sex.
Just as there is more to Heterosexuality than sex. So while a person may choose weather or not to have sex they can not control their sexual orientation. Homosexuality is not sin
it is simply love.

Yes i can, what the ult purpose behind marriage-PROCREATION! Besides love there is a Purpose behind Marriage. What is the ult purpose behind Domestic Partnership? In the NT read Romans 1:24-27. Those of the OT were under the Law which was fulfilled/Completed in Christ Jesus as we are now under Grace. I dont hate Homo's, showing love toward everyone is 2nd greatest Command. However, I do hate homosexuality because its sin! Slavery in the OT under the Law was to be carried out with dignity!

It seeems u are fogetting that Slavery in the OT was apart of the culture and the times. Nonetheless, if a person was to have a slave he was to be treated a certain way. Not beaten to death like what happened in US, European histories. In the past the "Pagan CATHOLIC Church" did nothing in obeying the will of God. All the other things like mass killings of peoples by the Hebrews were ordered by the same Godhead as in the NT. They were under the Law.
