Shit now im a bradley gunner in the army national guard and i have survived several ied and rpg attacks in a bradley so i think that the brad should be in close 2nd with the abrams wouldnt gun anything else
It was supposed to be a quick and agile troop carrier. It turned into a joke - designed by a committee of cowboy generals. watch?v=3rJOXXNCSI0&feature=related
@JohnnyRock2000 And in the end it turned out to be a half decent vehicle. No justification for the "over time, over budget, designed by committee" crap, but its not a bad vehicle. Thankfully we just canceled the German/American MBT and developed the Abrams independently though.
@morrowind750 but i saw a video on liveleak.com cald like islomic army day and night part 1 it hit a big ied the tank blew up u saw the turret fly of on fire im glad im in a abrams and not a bradly
@Blueatchley12 During the Gulf War, M2 Bradleys destroyed more Iraqi armored vehicles than the M1 Abrams, yet only one soldier (the gunner) was killed in the Bradley. same fatality rate as the abrams. As of early 2006, total combat losses included 55 Bradleys. As of March 2005, approximately 80 Abrams tanks were forced out of action by enemy attacks. Dont get me wrong the Abrams is bad ass, but dispite the massive developement problems, the bradley can hold its own too.
This particular model is a "M3 Cavalry Fighting Vehicle." A tank generally doesn't have the ability to transport troops in the back. Also, tanks generally use a large caliber main gun (such as the 120mm on the M1 Abrams) as opposed to the 25mm autocannon on the Bradley.
The big similarity is they are both tracked, turreted, armored vehicles. Beyond that, tanks and infantry/cavalry fighting vehicles have pretty different job descriptions.
they should put that bradley turrent on the styriker make your own Lav better than what those candians have:)

@busboy999 using a german gun ;) or a british one for the early models...

@Semeiron Yup. That Rhinemetal gun is a thing of beauty too. The U.S. hasn't had a domestic gun on a main battle tank since the M48.
