Nope, Brain Surge is filmed in one of the OLDEST Hollywood studios since Pee-Wee Herman's Playhouse, HOLLYWOOD CENTER STUDIOS! Where The Suite Life, ANT Farm, and Other crappy Disney shows are filmed!

  • Someone investigate and find out what happend to the big NIckelodeon sign from the building will pay 10,000 for the original.

  • @w8lifter201

The disposition of the sign is unknown. The best guess comes from Josh Yawn who feels that it was junked.

If the signs still exists, it would have to be in storage. Possibly @ the Nickelodeon Suites Resort (the Nick Hotel), Nick on Sunset or the Nickelodeon Animation Studios. As of right now, the only known surviving item is the time capsule.

  • The thing that really depresses me is that it seems like that's how the entire world has gone in the last twenty years. From being intentionally fun and colorful, to overly serious, drab, and depressing. Although I'll grant you, it was a meticulously planned, corporate kind of fun with carefully selected colors. At least it was a kind of fun. Now everything's khaki, grey, and overly dramatic.

  • I remember going their back in the 90s and seeing them film Keenan & Kel and then going to the games lab and playing a ren and stimpy game!

  • I just don't understand why Nick had to relocate to New York. Granted, they did have a good run for a little while there, but why'd they leave behind the iconic Nickelodeon Studios? They now operate in a bland corporate building; this place oozed Nickelodeon's personality....and slime.

  • @SonicStantz

Nickelodeon Studios was built, primarily, to host game shows. During the 80's and most of the 90's game shows were in demand. However, in the late 90's and beyond, interest in game shows tanked. Nickelodeon's viewers wanted more scripted comedies and cartoons. The problem is, actors needed for those types of shows, refused to leave Los Angeles and move to Orlando FL. No actors = no shows. Nickelodeon sent show production back to Los Angeles and administrative jobs to New York.

  • @bewarethedecks Alright, I understand, but don't you wish that there was some kind of Nick Studios equivelant still out there?

  • @SonicStantz

If the facility was able to figure prominently into Nickelodeon's production just like the Orlando locale did back in the late 80’s to mid 90's....sure!

But it would be a huge shame & monumental waste to build another complex only to have it sit there dead, dark & unused, or not be used to its fullest extent.

  • @SonicStantz

Nick On Sunset is the closest thing to Nickelodeon Studios that the network now owns. Wikipedia mentions that iCarly & Victorious are the 2 shows that are currently produced at that facility. BrainSurge is staged at a leased facility at Hollywood Center Studios.

  • Fml....

  • bleh!

  • Wow that studio looks sad

  • That's just depressing.

  • I grew up watching nick and now its so sad to look that is gone and they should do a museum for nickelodeon from the past to now.

  • @0:19, that kid has no idea what once was.

  • did they remove the time capsule?

  • @awesomenoe

Yes. It's now buried at the Nick Hotel in Orlando.

  • That was my child hood in there :( I was on a few episodes of Slime Time Live when it still on. I live in Florida and we would go to the Studios every year for our school field trips. I still go there a lot now, but it's never as fun. *sigh*

  • Poor Nickelodeon Studios its so depressing seeing videos of kids back in the 90's and now seeing it now all plain and dull colored and lifeless. RIP nickelodeon Studios you gave me the best shows of my Generation So sad that kids have to grow up with Icarly, big time rush, and all this other crap :(

  • 1 person likes Big Time Rush...

  • I thought for sure I'd be taking my children to this place. To think it closed a few weeks before I even graduated high school

  • The last time I got to go was Summer of 1997. I have a couple of photographs of myself outside the studio where they used to have SNES and Gameboy Kiosks. On that day I remember meeting Kenan and Kel and getting to look from above at the set where they worked, and test screened the court episode. We also met former olympian Summer Sanders. I have one photograph of myself with a bunch of other kids waiting to compete on a small stage that grouped the Guts and Double Dare logos.

  • Aww its so sad. I was on slime time live when the cast of all that was on it with nick cannon :(

  • I can't understand why it closed, Everybody love it. :,(

  • @NorbiZsemi

Some of the reasons for the closure are mentioned below.

Had people really cared about Nickelodeon Studios, there wouldn't have been a severe drop off in the number of people stopping by to take the tour. Interest in game shows would stayed strong and actors would have gladly moved from Los Angeles to Orlando to work there.

Instead.....the opposite happened. Interest in game shows tanked.....people stopped visiting the Studios.....and actors refused to move to Orlando.

  • WHAT THE FUCK THE NICK STUDIOS WAS GREAT NOW THAT BUILDING IS SOME FUCKING CORPORATION BULLSHIT!!!!!!

  • Can people go there now? Like, in front of the Nickelodeon Studios building? I went to Universal in January, and I'm going again in 10 days. I was "aware of those facts ^" when I went there, but I thought the old building would be near Hard Rock Cafe... Anyway, is that possible to walk in front of it? I freaking miss old Nick SO MUCH :'(

  • @Paati888

The outside of the complex looks different today than it did back when Nickelodeon was there. Sure, you can stand in front of the buildings and take pictures. YouTuber "RetroFreak84" did that.

The 2 big reasons Nickelodeon Studios closed are:

    1) Kids/viewers lost interest in game shows.

    2) Actors refused to move from Los Angeles to Orlando.

Times changed. Nickelodeon Studios was anchored in the 90's and really couldn't be brought forward into the 2000's

  • I started to cry right when the kids started yelling "Nick is Kids!" Disappear cause there childhood is now gone! :( Good news is though that Secretly Nick still owns Half that Place! Thats how they record BrainSurge on Nick today.

  • @PPTV67US

Actually they don't own any of the place. Brain Surge is filmed in Burbank, California at Nick on Sunset.

  • @RetroFreak84 Wikipedia lies! >>_>>

  • @RetroFreak84 Still this is kinda depressing cause i'm 13 and i'm seeing other kids childhood destroyed!

  • Nickelodeon SUCKS

  • PM sent to sunpiz.

  • :'(

    I feel like crying

  • I dont get anything someone explain to me exactly wat happened to nick studios where is it now and where was it before and wat happened to it y did it get all crappy now

  • @sunpiz One word! Hollywood and Sony taking over the world. I know how you feel. My Aunt use to work for CBS Records then Sony took it over. Sony took over Sharp! And Sharp/AKA Sony, took over Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, Florida. I live in New Jersey with my Aunt so i did alot of research on Sony. So yeah people (Other than Dan Shnider.) in Hollywood Suck! Except for the creator of Sponge Bob. Oh yeah and i'm only 13!

  • Gahhh, part of my childhood is gone.

    :[

  • Nickelodeon late 2009 was when it really started to be crappy. It's now trash. I don't want to listen to a chick singing about boys every commercial break. I actually want to see some more cartoons.

  • Its hard for me to see that man walk his little girl on the gravesite of Nick

    0:18

  • @ltkdog I know right? :( I tweeted to Nick and they said, "Dear @PPTV67US, watching our old studios be torn down was one of the most depressing things that has happened to us." I was very said to find that out!

  • Wow. It's sad how Nick went from awesome cartoons, and half a kid's childhood, to a channel FULL of tween/teen garbage. When ever i tune into it, i see Miranda Cosgrove singing about kissing boys. It's just plain trash. =(

  • Theres No Excitement In The Blue Man Group Building

  • i miss hey dude and salute your shorts :(

  • Ok, but FYI those weren't filmed at Nick Studios.

  • @RetroFreak84 i know...i still miss them though lol

  • @RetroFreak84 Yeah but they were some of the first shows of the Nickelodeon Studios era.

  • @RetroFreak84 Nick Sunset studios is that right???

  • there stupid for getting rid of the nickelodeon studios

  • not going to lie.... this is kinda depressing to watch

  • I has NOOO idea that all of this hgappened.

I was gonna go to florida next summer & wanted to go visit nick studio's. But its not even there anymore.

I think everything was moved out into LA

  • wow nickelodeon is gay as fuck now. how could they let that beautiful building turn into that ugly piece of shit? i lived off of shows like keanan and kel and all that that were filmed there in the 90's

  • *sheds tear* goodbye nickelodeon

  • I know, it turned from a fun play place to an effing factory, Jeez Nick has gone down hill, after the 90s, they changed for the worst.

  • @midprod Remember Rugrats, Hey Arnold. All That, Rockos Modern Life etc. etc. What do we have now? Two annoying bitches on the internet, a fag boy band, and some dumbass working for a fashion company. Nickelodeon, you will be missed.

  • so true. Do you remember Kablam, Invader Zim, Are you afraid of the Dark, Angry Beavers, and Action Leauge now? Man thos were some great ones, Rugrats and Hey Arnold were also some of my favorites. I guess times have changed, and the younger kids dont think those shows are "cool" anymore, sad really...

  • @midprod I was into Nickeloden in the later 90's early 2000s so a lot of those I caught on Nick Toons. They still have the channel but they play all the cartoon Nickelodeon shows that failed (Danny Phantom, the X's.) But Action League Now out of the bunch you named was my favorite. I loved how fake it was with the action figures, but it was still madly awesome.

  • agreed...

  • 0:00 Really?

  • So sad. :(

  • i used to live extreamly close to the studios so my friend and i knew alot peps their so every weekend we would go in the studio and run around

  • It's so dead now... I remember when i was a little kid and every day after school i would look forward to a show of "All that". The saturday shows, Keenan and Kel, Goodburger. So many good memories from vacations, all gone now.

  • I remember when they had Slime Time Live! we went to Universal for vacation when I was 7! while we was there we went to Slime Time Live! they wouldnt let me in because I wasnt over 8! im 13 now!

  • To anyone concerned about the Time Capsule That was Buried and then Removed: (Quoted from Wikipedia)

The Nickelodeon Time Capsule, was reburied at the Nickelodeon Family Suites hotel after the closure of the Nickelodeon Studios complex at nearby Universal Studios Florida.

  • now it looks boring

  • Nickelodeon Studios was the best place ever at Universal along with all of their old rides. People were not visiting the studio or going on rides as they should have. I just hope they can give Universal a 90's look instead of today

  • ;( It's so sad.

  • Where did you get that picture at the very very beginning?

  • On eBay I got a USF Opening Emloyee Newsletter from August 1990.
