They're ubers, so unless you're doing an Uber battle, then you can't battle anyone in standard.

Are the Lati twins considered ubers? I've hered mix responses about that. Some say they are but others say they arn't and i am just confused T_T

Most of the people I've met tell me the Lati@s aren't ubers, unless they have soul dew on. I mean, I've seen hundreds of legit bettles where people use the Latis.

Are you sure? I know Gallade doesn't have the absolute best speed in the world, but base 80 with choice scarf can't be so bad.

Think of it like this.

Kingdra=85 Speed, doubled in rain making it roughly 170 base give or take.

Gallade=Base 80, speed multiplied by 1.5. Just there you can stop by looking at the numbers. But if you want to go on, 80 x 1.5= 120.

Of course this is rather rough, it's still a good way of averaging stats in the nick of battle. This is also done with just bases and don't reflect their real stats. A 50 point difference now could be a 100-150 point difference with real stats.

if gallade was scarfed, why would you need to use a priority move to finish off kingdra?

Kingdra has swift swim which doubles is basically a free Agility in the Rain. Despite Gallade being scarfed, he's still too slow to outspeed Kingdra in the Rain.

Priority moves beat out speed, as shown in the Gallade V.S. Kingdra bit. It's a good supprise comming from a base 125 Attacker.

And about Gallade...Scarf Hera does the same thing but better, the only thing you get is the surprise factor, which only works once. I have a really good Gallade set, if you're interested, message me.

I've seen Bulk Up Gallade. I have on on my Pearl. I love it too.

Scarf Hera gets the dual uber STAB moves, but that won't matter if they'll all miss. Gallade doesn't worry about missing and runs a higher SDef (which is't much to say considering the CC drops but it's there)

First of all, you're acting like you made your decision based upon the crit, which you couldn't have because there's no way you knew it was going to happen.

Second of all, The damage to Swampert would've been miniscule and Cress would've still had plenty of HP left(I don't know your spread...that's why I'm not doing a damage calc). Either way, neither would've come close to dying...Zapdos had no chance at all even without a crit.

Lol. Just did the calcs, seems like I overestimated the power of a crit.

But anyways, moving along. If I had switched to either one, Cress or Pert, Bronzong still walls both, and can take punishment from Gallade since it's scarfed. As of now, since I saw the numbers and have the facts straight, I must say you are right, I probably would have been better off switching out. Then again, there's that last poke I never saw, and that beastly Kingdra hanging out.

Even with Scarf, Gallade's hella slow. Priority moves aren't expected on scarf pokes, but I see no reason as to why NOT to include them. You yourself seemed supprised, thus proving my point further.

IIRC, that Stone Edge turned out to be a crit. Had I gone to Cress, I would have taken a huge chunk of damage and would have to rely on the risky Sleep Talk to hopefully get an Ice Beam off.

Had I gone to pert, even with the resistance, crits still hurt. He's more special def orientated for the simple reason of being a cursepert.

Continuing on, both of them would have taken a chunk of damage. I don't know about you, but I know my pokes well enough to say neither one would have had the chance to stand up to Zong, who could have come in, Hypnosised and gone back to Kingdra.

I didn't get it out during the commentary, which I now regret, but I was thinking about Kingdra coming in at some point and being able to know both pokes out seeing as they would be weakened due to a crit.
