  • Hello, my MS10 is creating this constant buzzing sound and is what ever key I press doesn't seem to affect the pitch. Any help would be awesome.

  • hi, would any1 know why no sound is coming from my ms10? I just left it on for a few hours, and when I cam back, it wouldn't make any sound. It still powers on though, but the red light no longer blinks, it's just on the whole time. :( any help would be great

  • @8tibbz8

just check -all- parts of the power supply... seems there's something broken. if not check VCA... good luck !

  • @ 5.43.... sounds like tarkus

  • My Commodore machines are integral to my home recording studio. Click my name to discover my Commodore 64 synth videos. Or view my other page, THEDUSTPILE, to hear some great chiptunes on my videos.

Or visit dustybin org uk for mountains of Commodore 64 music software and other goodies I have collected.

  • I made a little demo video of a freeware VSTi that simulates the MS10. Check it out.

  • Damn... all those cables and shit. Those were the days, huh.

  • Is that where the term PATCH comes from? (Patch cables)

  • @marcel911 yup

  • @marcel911 yes it comes from the patch cables, but from the Moog Modular.

  • No Sweep its not a sausage...

  • why isn't this stereo?

  • Why would it need to be stereo?

  • it only comes out of one of my speakers.. even mono should come out of both

  • @Adeptmind

Come out both of my speakers fine.

  • strange... this is the only video that doesn't come out of both my speakers

  • Wish I had never sold mine - oh well... :(

  • Yep i know what you mean.. i sold mine for 25 euros many years ago :(

  • spend the money on an ms 20 instead :)

  • MS20 cant do that amazing PWM and the filter is totally diff..... Both are needed.

  • chi di voi conosce il mitico solton b1000 s?

è il migliore dopo il minimoog

ve lo dico io che ne sono in possesso e lo so suonare da dio

  • So DS-10 is based on this, hmm =3

  • lol Ace Of Base sounding bit at 5:38

  • i cant believe so many people try and compare the ds-10 to the real thing. its a firggen nintendo for god sake. The real thing is 1000 times better!!

    PS - Nice sounds man.

  • LOL... crazy sound, I love it

  • You suck. :)

  • So do I, if only I had the cash to suck on one of these, ho hum, back to the casio!

  • ROFL .

Yeah, I suck too. My brother is an ace btw.

  • Nais! I love you!

  • This stuff is so much fun. I use a Nintendo DS and the KORG DS-10 "game" which is an approximation of this. It sounds decent if output to speakers.

I'm going to upload some of my samples to youtube.

  • yeah i have the DS thing to, it´s amazing :)

  • No. Korg DS-10 is not even close to this.

  • It won't be close to anything if you play it off the DS speakers.

Have you actually used the thing, and plugged it into a decent system?

  • still the touch screen can't top real controls

  • No, it can't. But it's close enough. There is the Kaoss pad where you can manipulate 2 at once.

And for a portable little thing, it does a great job. Especially putting out high quality 44.1khz sound.

  • And to add to that, try plugging in an amp to the DS-10. Sounds a lot better, don't it? :D

  • I just record it on the PC and output the sound to the stereo from there.

  • i would assume with some simple studio headphones plugged into the ds-10 it would sound pretty kick ass

  • I would assume that you are correct

  • i agree i love my ds-10 very fun.

  • Hello, I've posted this video on switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot . com

  • i own an ms 10, the leads are nice when beefed up with reverb and shit, but on its own its pretty rubbish, the basses are laughable. Incidentally ill be putting mine on ebay son, THEYRE GREAT!!!!

    lol

  • how much does one cost?

  • This stuff is Vintage. You'd probably have to fight a collector to the death for one of these. :-)

  • Theres one of theses at my local pawn shop for 180 bucks

  • If it's not the korg computer powered reissues then I would say buy it. You probably could get a pretty penny if you resell it, or just give it a good home. :-)

  • How can i tell the difference if its the real deal or the compter reissues?

  • is this from a movie

  • damn those comments were replies to other comments. Jeeeeez.

  • i found mu dads old korg ms20 and he is now dead and i dont know how it works-`? :S help me

  • turn it on dude try it out

  • There's an MS-20 on eBay right now going for $1849.00. I would hang onto it and like bbourke85 said "turn it on and try it out."

  • the jokes on you

  • Do you REALLY think that you can compare a **game** on a **digital console** with a mono headphone output to a CLASSIC analog synth?

    ----

Complimenti all'autore di questo video, ma dove l'hai trovato e quanto hai speso per questa meraviglia? =)

  • Well, actually yes.

  • You can't compare except if you have both the classic analog and game ...

Analog is better than digital in any way

  • I would trade my ds lite + korg ds-10 for a korg ms 10 or 20 anyday!

  • @kyleismrsmiley really? you would trade your 100$ DS and 40$ ds-10 for a 1000$ ms10 or a 2000$ ms2000?

  • @lolcat23 duh wouldn't anybody? I'm just saying having the real thing is loads better than the DS version.

  • That synth is just... GREAT!

  • if i bought this ova an ms-20 would i b missin that much?

  • a second oscillator, tons of modulation possibilties and an ESP

  • just bought one off eBay and can't wait to get my hands on it. I also want an MS20 if anyone knows of one around :)

  • Fucking cool

  • i left this on and did something else on my computer and it slipped into my subconcious :O

  • I bought one yesterday for 650$ canadian...fuck yeah go me.

  • bought one last week for $600 Canadian. Go us!!

  • you would be lucky at 800.00

  • modulation to pwm dam fat bro

  • these are probly mad expensive right? i want a synth but im broke :(

  • According to Vintage Synth Explorer the estimated value is between 300 and 700 dollars. Which isn't bad at all.

  • Hi, I recently bought an ms10 and I was wondering if you have some chart settings for me....I love the sound you do at about 6:38....that bleepy bass thing. Maybe If you could tell me wat the settings sort of are, i'd be very greatfull thanks!

    Keep up the good work

  • anyone know why the keys are stuck on mine. i can turn it on and then the sound is there allways. humm. i can play on it and change tones and all that. but no silence.

  • looks like something is stuck on VCA circuit. did you tried to open it and try cleaning the circuits?

  • When my friend bought a Korg MS-10 last year the man who sold it said that it strictly could not emulate other instruments like for example a Trumpet. That however was a lie. On that very Korg MS-10 i have made the most strikingly natural emulations of Tuba, Doublebass and Cello that i have ever heard from an piece of electronic musical equipment! On top of that i must say that the MS-10 is by far more good looking synthesizer than the MS-20 or MS-50.

  • My friend bought a MS-10 from a guy who had it tucked away in his basement for the past 25 years. Everything was covered with thick layer of grime! After a cleaning, vacuuming and a can of contact spray, it was good as new.

  • I have an MS-10 myself. Being an 80's / synth buff and producer I do love my synths! hehe. The MS-10 is basic, but is still a decent analog for it's basses, effects etc. I made an awesome equinox 4 lead using this!!!

  • Ms-20 legacy collection has drop its price, its now 299

  • Korg rules man, Industrial dreams.

  • I'm looking for Spare Parts for MS-10 (20) mainly Knobs and side plates...

    johnny@xraybookco.com

  • I've got KLC just two weeks ago. In the past i've done an A/B comparison between a real MS20 and Korg Legacy one (it was a demo of the first version v1.0.0) and i've noticed a big difference between them.. but now, with latest updates, seems that KLC MS20 sounds better... more close to the real thing. I'm planning to do another comparison, using my MS-10 and KLC.

    Stay Tuned,

    Luca

  • I tend to agree. There's still some noteable difference. The MS-20 clone lacks some of these tiny "imperfections" of the original.

It shows, how hard it is to emulate an analog synth adequately.

  • Very nice demo. I see you have the legacy collection MS-20 there too. Do you recommend getting an MS-10 if you've already got the legacy collection (which I do)?

  • Okay, now you've made me regret selling my MS-10!

  • You sold an analog synth!? I'm gonna kill you!

  • I have sold a lot of them... something which would have horrified me about 6 years ago... but eventually, I found after buying most of the most popular, that some I tend to play, and some I don't. The MS series are absolutely WONDERFUL as analog synths (I've had 10, 20, and 50), but they're just too clean for me! They're too stable for me, if you can believe that! And... please don't kill me, I have kept all of my favourite analog synths... does that count? : )
