  • although the flip side "Sweethearts on Parade" was the hit side, I like this side far better. Found my copy in early 1992 and I still hum it to myself a lot. Thanks for posting.

  • @2reeler I think the things that most characterize the trademark "sound" are Lebert's muted trumpet, Carmen's alto sax and, of course, Carmen's vocals with that wavering vibrato. The four brothers had a lock on that sound.

  • My Dad, who was a great Lombardo fan (and came from near London Ontario where all the Lombardos were from) always said that with Lombardo, you knew what the song was in the first two bars.

    Always classy, always great dance music from a time when couples danced WITH eachother, holding on and closing their eyes- forgetting depressions, wars whatever, in a little moment of peace and love. What could be nicer. We could use some of it today.
