I have to small kids and a maltese puppy. He pees around 4 and 5 times a day. He actually pee several times in the backyard and was apparently easily trained. Then the rain season came and he started to pee in the carpets inside the house, and it was difficult for me to notice. Now I am trying to keep him peeing in the backyard again but here and there he has an accident inside the house. I removed the carpets but he pees on the floor. Its hard to watch him and he hates the crate. What to do?

u need to tell your dog NO telling him its ok will not help he will not learn .if u have a steak to put ur dog on do that and leave him alone set the timer for 30 min. and then bring him in and then take him out and add another 30 min. then ur pup will get ust to it and will let u know when he has to eleminate they might get u with the puppy eyes try to ignore it.

@2hottie89 Lol... Well, my dog is now trained a little bit!... She sits by the door when she has to pee or pop most of the time...But sometimes she does it by the back door when noone is there to take hero utside... So what I did to train her was every time she pee or pop.. I put her face in it and say no and pop her.. Then I put her outside nd then put her in the cage for about 20mins... It took like 2 months to train or so now she is potty trained... But just now, she pop on the carpet :o

@candikane97 I'm glad your making progress with your pup because mine hasn't peed in the house for over 2 weeks until last night when our Chuwawa how ever you spell it peed in my room and then my puppy did the same. I'm starting to think my Pup is smarter then my Chuwawa because she's been peeing and pooping outside only for a while now till she saw my other dog pee in my room last night. I did the same thing putting her face in it then putting her in her cage but they say you shouldn't do that.

QUESTION: I JUST GOT A 6 WEEK OLD COCKER SPANIEL AND SO I BOUGHT PADS AND ATTRACTING SPRAY FOR HIM TO POTTY IN A SPECIFIC PLACE BUT HE DOESNT SEEM TO BE ATTRACTED TO THE PAD NOR THE SPRAY AND I GET FRUSTRATED BUT OF COURSE I NEVER YELL AT HIM. WHEN I SEE HIM SNIFFING AROUND AND GETTING COMFORTABLE I CARRY HIM TO THE POTTY PLACE BUT HE LOOSES HIM CONCENTRATION AND 5 MIN. LATER I FIND HIM PEEING SOMEWHERE ELSE. VET TOLD ME NOT TO TAKE HIM OUTSIDE YET. IS HE TOO YOUNG TO POTTY TRAIN??

Uhh i have *another* question. My puppy started cleaning her teeth on my hand and chewing my hand, so i started flicking her nose (not too harsh) when she does that and everything wrong. I found it much more humane than an electric collar. Is it okay if i flick her nose?

Actually, i bought a new puppy today (a white terrier named misha) shes 1 month old.

I was just wondering if what im doing is right, now i fed her some yoghurt and water and put her in the litter box. She peed and then i let her out to well, not play, just sleep on my lap. Should i keep putting her in the litterbox after she eats everytime?

@Evelyn2Cute1 technically i any animal in a car should be placed in a carrier. that will hopefully prevent them from using the bathroom and keep them safe at the same time.

CONT...Penny was & is extremely intelligent...If she knows what you want, she will do it. It didn't take long to train her....And yes, this dachshund is VERY young...BUT I take her out directly after she wakes from any nap, right after eating (which is scheduled, not open) & every two hours in between...as well as close supervision...& yet she STILL poos in her crate! I have limited her area inside the crate to only allow for turning around & lying down..She still pees & poos & will lay in it!

I have a 4 year old JRT female(Penny), I've had her since 8 weeks of age. Penny had a few accidents in the house as a puppy, but was very easy to potty train & crate train. Penny would NOT soil her crate. 2 weeks ago I brought a 9 week old, miniature dachshund female into our family... The 1st 2 nights she woke me up every 2 hours crying in her crate. I would get up & take her out...Now however, she NEVER wakes me & will pee & poop in her crate AND EAT HER POO! I'm getting frustrated.

I have a puppy for about 6 months now and he knows to take care business when i take him outside. I take him and another dog out 4-5 times a day and he still shit and pisses on my carpet. Now, i am locking him up in a crate when i am home and he is only allowed to come out for short peroid of time. out 10-15 minits later- they hate dirtying theyre own area... a pups memory is about 30seconds, so dont 'bollock' the pup unless you actualy catch them in the act...and also, NO pup can be expected to be fully house trained before at least 6 months- accidents WILL happen.

if the puppy is in the habbit of going to the loo in the house after the walk. (a) dont let the pup near a carpet once your in, i use the kitchen as it is a lined floor- they like to pee on absorbant material (therefor papering a carpet will not work!!!). (b) watch the pup upon return, if you catch them in the act, let it no your not happy! and put it outside for 10 minits with NO attantion. if you cant watch the pup, put it in a crate when you get in and try takeing it
