  • OH DANG!! DEFECT!!!

  • does 745 have a air horn or something.

  • Just did a little research on the engine. Seems that it resides in LASTA's yard in Jefferson, LA (within driving distance from me). Is there a plan on any runs anytime soon?

I kinda' like the "steam horn", its unique.

  • that looks like a lot of fun.

    What's with the diesel horn?

  • how many engeiners were in the sp745?

    5 stars!!

  • the radio transmission you hear is a hot box detector

  • Just watching how they run the thing makes me wish i was there.

  • that diesal whistle sounded like the GWWR loco we had on our southbound run out of KCMO a year ago is it? if so i was on the canadian national private car on the rear..

  • Yep thats right

  • We are always trying to beat the hot box detector. The feed pump sets it off. So about a mile or two before we turn it off but it's does not always cool off fast enough.

  • most of the time if you go over a detector and the big end happens to be down, the detector will see that as a hot box, since they do run hotter then ambient temp

  • So what happened to the bearing, in the end? It sounded like it was running hot or something.

  • What? Where? Lets see locomotive cab and boiler.

Same footage at end as beginning? Why not show full whistle blowing? Poor.

  • You guys are havin' too much fun!
