Just did a little research on the engine. Seems that it resides in LASTA's yard in Jefferson, LA (within driving distance from me). Is there a plan on any runs anytime soon?
that diesal whistle sounded like the GWWR loco we had on our southbound run out of KCMO a year ago is it? if so i was on the canadian national private car on the rear..
We are always trying to beat the hot box detector. The feed pump sets it off. So about a mile or two before we turn it off but it's does not always cool off fast enough.
most of the time if you go over a detector and the big end happens to be down, the detector will see that as a hot box, since they do run hotter then ambient temp
OH DANG!! DEFECT!!!

So what happened to the bearing, in the end? It sounded like it was running hot or something.

What? Where? Lets see locomotive cab and boiler.
Same footage at end as beginning? Why not show full whistle blowing? Poor.
