Thats a 32 foot Spectre Racing Cat it's an Inboard with about 850hp (gas engine) per engine that boat is not going no more that 140mph considering no spectre racing cat has even done that fast. The boat is Slow also considering its on a fresh water river. Carry it to the Salt water and they will lose atleast 5-10 miles per hour.

Rus no offence but....im turning 16 this year and i've been around boats from a little baby, mostly because my family owns a ferry service...but you can try this experiment...and it will prove greatly right to me... try racing a boat in the ocean then in fresh water and see which is faster... i still back that salt water is goin to be slower because of the denser water ^.^

The water is denser, you are correct on that part, where you're wrong is the fact that you think it will slow it down. As the water is denser, it is more boyant, forcing the boat further out of the water, as a result there is less drag thus a higher top speed. :)

I have been around this sport for a while as well(30 some odd years) and all I can say is you are very impressive if you can see a Utube vid and tell how fast one is going. The difference in speed between fresh & salt is negligible on a good day. If it picked up 1 MPH I would be impressed. YOu would be even more impressed as you could probably tell it from a still pic. Happy 16th birthday. Do everything you can while you still know it all.

Ok there sparky, for fun lets say its a plane. What small 2 seater + plane goes over 250 Knts??? Very few, and if they do there extremely expensive and do not have the noise qualities found in this prop plane. So its still not a record breaking speed. That boat is probably doing 170 at best which is still moving but not even close to the record.
