the reason the other speaker moves is the first one, when you push it in, produces a voltage that the other speaker sees.....that statement is only correct if the speaker wires are disconnected!!

These are good amps, the only problem is the price. GK has to be my favorite because they have good prices and can get the same sound. Same with Trace Elliots.

@Synthfreak25 I disagree, I've played through both GK and Ampeg CL amps and I can never get the same driving tube gain-growl out of a GK that I can out of an Ampeg. This is why my main head is a Mesa Boogie 400+ haha.

I just bought the SVT 450 head and the 610 cabinet. It's a killer rig, I also use a Digitech BP200 for effects. Before I got rid of my Peavey Nitrobass 450 and my 2-10 and 1-15 stack, I did a side by side comparison and the Ampeg is the Truth.

I measured 26" wide and 49" tall.

I bought a new SVT VR. Great amp! I want the grill cloths to look new like the amp.

I got a Traynor YBA200 a while ago too,- it's taking a lot of the Ampeg's gigs!!! Lighter, plenty of power & sounds great!

i'm not a big fan of ampeg, but their svt-15 cabs sound pretty good, but i've always found svt's to be somewhat muddy and very bass heavy, i guess its good for some folks but i prefer a mesa 400 or buster 200 or a traynor yba-3a

@simpons2170 You said the "svt-15 sound pretty good " They can't touch the 8x10 cabs. I have an earlys 1970 svt 300 watt tube head and 8x10 I love it. I guess my point is its anything but MUDDY! And there is a ampeg bandwagon for a reason. Peace!

If i wanted to carry a fridge around I'd just buy a Kenmore or something, but I think what I find most amusing is you're smugness as to what YOU think makes a good bass amp/rig while totally disregarding any other ideas. I run a Mesa 200W tube head through 90's Mesa Diesel 2x10 and 1x15 and quite frankly I like my rig better than any run of the mill Ampeg SVT+8x10. I tried a few of those setups and it just didn't have the definition in the highs and mids I was looking for.

what is up with manufacturing these in vietnam? did you guys use US components? i'm assuming cheap ones to cut the cost? i don't know if i want to own ampeg that is made in vietnam. not sure what you guys put on those vietnam models. it would probably make a difference SOUND and the type of wood it's been used is probably not the best

I have an older 8x10 cab and an old earth with 2 15" SRO's. The Ampeg can push more air becuase the 8x10 design does not require as much power for the same db.

Net sure is a small world!!! ;-) Ya, the SVTII is a beast... & the Bergantino cabs are just as good IMO. LOVE running the SVTII>NV610 with the VT-Bass pedal in there for when I can't run the SVTII at OD levels. I mean the VT-BASS pedal sounds good with most cabs/amps, but IMO when used with a TUBE ampeg it's a whole 'nother dimension!

Bergs are great Cabs!!! Busterd!!! I DO like my Aguilar GS112 tho & altho I just got a Berg AE112, so far, I'm liking the GS112 better. Warmer.... Maybe coz I'm used to it... The BErg AE112 craps on it as far as volume tho!!! IF I grow to love the AE112 I'll grab another for a 2x 112 stack!!! Sell off the GS112.

Nice one :) . When I've got some extra cash I'm looking at getting a 1x12 (was eyeing up the AE112) and one of the GB Shuttles. Sadly don't have the resources or requirement for the SVT/810 combination all the time :p

@WillSpengler Yeah I find I'm using my Berg AE112 heaps. The Mark Bass LMII>Tech 21 VT Bass pedal > Berg AE112 n\makes a superb li'l rig, I get SO manycomments about the sound when using this combination. Ppl cannot believe that huge vintage tone comes outta that li'l box & amp!! BUT in saying that- it simply cant beat the SVTII>NV610 for sheer power, punch etc.. USing my EB MM Stingray 4 with that the other nite, sounded like a machine gun when Iplayed fast stuff!!! AMAZING!!!
