  • The dielectric (water) is not "deliberately contaminated". As a matter of fact, the more pure it is, the better things function. I regularly have water at 1 or 2 ppm TDS (below 3 microsiemen). And yes... I can put my hand in the work tank when the machine is cutting, and place my fingers within 1" or less of the cutting without feeling any electrical shock whatsoever.

  • EDM fluid is deliberately contaminated to conduct electricity. However a waterproof camera would not have any issues as they usually are contained in a isolated house. However since the electricity always takes the path of least resistance and the resistance inside the discharge path is near zero you could probably stick your hand in there as long as the edm piece and wire have a proper conduit running.

  • Camera was outside the machine, not in the water. Also, there is no "electrified" water, as water is an excellent insulator when it is very pure.

  • wow....how the hell did the camera get in there and not get fried considered the water was electrified.....i just started working on the wire EDM in my shop at school...pretty damn cool....i also like the ram EDM

  • estas maquinas son impresionantes tengo la dicha demanejar a estas
