Alverez is too robotic. He comes straight forward and trades way too much. So far, conditioning and natural talent have carried him, but soon he will face much more talented opposition. Lateral movement, and speed are going to give alvarez alot of trouble and his mentality of eating punches will hurt him.
He is young though and may adjust his game with the right trainers. I think a shot at the winner of Cotto vs Mayweather is in order, but i don,t see Alvarez beating either man yet.

@arncj18 It's not that Irish blood makes you white because it's strong, I think it's more to do with the Mexican dark skin part being weak. All of my family on my mom's side is from parts of Mexico and some of them are super dark, yet I'm really white because of my father being very light skinned. Canelo has a punchers chance against either fighter but he has no defense. @DDeCouto you may be right,but the way canelo handled rhodes was amazing,rhodes is a pretty good puncher and a great fighter and canelo destroyed him but cotto is a sick counter puncher and a strong counter puncher like cotto could *maybe ness alvarez up,but im sure alvarez hits harder than cotto,he just needs a better trainer/strategy

@gcoasta16 Probably Canelo, although Ortiz and Cotto also hit hard. However Cotto and Ortiz are much better technically and defensively. Canelo has a punchers chance against either fighter but he has no defense. He hasn't fought a surgeon like Mayweather or Cotto yet and if he does he's gonna get taken apart unless he dramatically improves his defense.

@gcoasta16 Son calm down with the caps. I never once said he's not talented I simply said he's not ready for the big boys yet. Mayweather was much better technically at age 21. Canelo has no defense, he's not ready for surgeons like Cotto or Floyd. Pavlik hit just as hard and probably had an even more impressive start to his career, and look what happened to him.The bottom line is he needs to improve techniqcally and he needs to switch trainers.Pavlik is just now switching his trainer
