  • This camera works great, BUT, I seem to have a problem with the front lens cracking down the middle, I have swopped it out 3 time with the same result. I have the GPS module installed and it works fine (however not recording the distance). Overall it is a great camera with a major flaw in the screen lens, I found that the lens seems to crack over night with out it being used at all, so my assumption is that a difference in air pressure due to weather might cause the problem.

  • this camera needs a 170deg lens

  • If you have multiple cameras, will ONE remote activate/stop them all as long as they can get the signal?

  • Can i ask you something? can you change resolution to 720p and at what fps it is filming? how is the sound? thank you for your answer

  • Ha go pro so mutch better loser!

  • I like the camera, but after speaking with garyfreefly1 below i checked my camera grip(The yellow part which goes around it) I found it had cracked.

Also i have to keep setting the date and time each time i turn on, and it stills shows up on the video as 2010/01/01 even tho i set it correctly moments before.

Also each video has a loud metallic buzzing on it.

So it is going back in the morning for repair after i have tried phoning tech support, the phone just rings, and they dont answer emails

  • @mk3stargazer The problem with the date is solved in a firmware upgrade. Just google for atc9k firmware, I downloaded and installed v1.25 yesterday, it solves the date problem (which I also had with firmware v1.10), gives a mic volume option and some more improvements. Good luck!

  • @Hexman64 Hi, i sent it back due to the buzzing and cracked grip, they sent a brand new one out and came yesterday, BUT still had the date issue,,, so i googled atc9k time problem and came up with the firmware upgrade you mention!!

Done it last night and sorted!!!

Cheers anyway, hope your comment helps others who view this page!

I have been out today with the GPS module so am just going to watch that on playback!

  • I have had major issues with the mounting system on this camera constantly breaking and the back up service is with this company is none existant I spoke to the help desk who was going to get the answers and email me back 3 weeks ago despite me ringing and emailing every few days since my first call no answers or contact has been made from them.I think my next step is going to trading standards as the mounting system on this Camera is (Not fit for purpose) good little camera with a major flaw

  • i bought the ATC9K, and I also own the GoPro Hero HD. Needless to say, my ATC9K broke after 1 day. After several weeks, Oregon Scientific finally refunded my money after I flipped the bill for shipping the unit back to them. GoPro is a much sturdier product, but does have less features. I am still looking for something better than the Hero HD. I thought this ATC9K looked promising, but found the GoPro still a superior product in quality, durability, support, and mounting options.

  • @atlasofdynasty I too bought a ATC9K. Iused the tripod mount on the 1st ride on my bike. It broke with-in 5 minutes. It seems they did not put much thought into this being an action camera. After 3 days the video started flaking out to a purple looking image. I sent an email to Oregon Scientific explaing both isuues. They sent back an email saying a case number had been set up. No response after that. It's a shame to send it back. I really liked the camera. The video is good when working.

  • This camera is awesome!! I bought one about a month ago and the footage quality is incredible! The idea for a GPS module is a great one and I can't wait for the module to be released.

In my opinion, there is no better HD cam on the market! Leaves all the others in the 9K's dust!

  • I am an owner of the ATC9K. I am having a difficult time trying to mount the camera to my ZX-14 and or my helmet. Do you know of any mounts that I can use or buy else where as the camera did not come with enough mounts for my application. Thanks. golddragon1962

  • @golddragon1962 I created a bracket that fits in between the mirror of my bike and the body, that makes the cam position perfect... but it means some creativity on your part as well. I used the mount for handlebars, broke the part that goes around the bars off and used the remaining part (with bolt hole) to fit it to my mount.

  • @tvsambeek Hi, do you have a photo of your mount? Is it somewhere on the internet that I can take a look at? I am now using Hoyt suction cup and it seems to be working great. The only problem is that this camera is made of plastic so it is very week. Can't tighten it down too tight on the screw on the mount.

  • @golddragon1962 I sent you a message.

  • @golddragon1962 Hate to say this, but return the camera if you can. Had this ATC9K on my 600rr. It can't hang. Broke after 1 day. It's marketed as an "action" camera but it can't withstand the abuse of being onboard a sportbike environment. Had my GoPro HD Motorsport on my bike for almost a year with no problems, aside from material flaw in the mounts. But, Hero HD is way easier to mount to a sportbike right out of the box and I now se a wire to secure it to the bike in case of mount failure

  • Cool camera, I can't decide between one of these or a GoPro, the sound is something i'm taking into consideration too...

  • @scattrr I will tell you that the Video/picture quality is pretty much the same. Mounts I would say GoPro. Features I say ATC9K blows GoPro away. ATC9K is a spur of the moment type camera that you can capture things quickly. GoPro is a more plan what your filming type camera. All in all either way you have a winner. Live it. Shoot it. Watch It. with Adventure Eye Video Systems
