how do ppl do this??? to me, this song is impossible!!! i got lost at the second line!!! what should i dooooooo??? im so horrible and played for 2 years!!! andicantreachthosehighnotes!!!
@789Dreamymimi789 Cut yourself some slack for only playing for two years. What I've found helpful with marches (as I've played a ton of them over the years), is to know the "map" of the piece. This includes things like the repeat signs (mark those), key change that's half way through (mark that too), the "dog fight" section (think of brass vs woodwinds), and even lettering the different sections/strains. For instance, if the first main theme goes from Measure 5-15, mark that section "A."
@789Dreamymimi789 The section section, say if it goes from measure 16-32, mark it "B," and so on. That way, it'll be easier to keep track of where you are at in the march. It also wouldn't hurt to number your measures, even if it's just on every line. If you have long measures of rests, you might want to write in entrances of other instruments, such as "M.55 beat 2-Saxes," just in case you get off in your counting. I hope this helps.
omg the asian girls r soooo pretty!!!! makes me proud to be asian lol. plus i play the flute too! and we're doing this song for honor band!!!!! so excited!!!!!!!
lol. he's a good composer for all non-french horn players, i personally HATE sousa, its like why even write a part for the french horns if your going to have them play the drum parts... lol.
i enjoyed this playing.i think a few more for altos and cbass would help the balance and also some percussion would enhance no end.i play in aflute band/choir in northern ireland and i hope to get some of our bands posted soon.
There is plenty of alot, that is what I hear most, I think there could be a little more bass though, and you can't have loud percussion with a flute choir, it just doesn't work xD.
Actually, it's not a military march, though the military does play it a lot these days. It was written to celebrate the winners of the "Washington Post" newspaper's essay contest. Marches were very popular as dance music in the United States back during the 19th century. Not all of them were based around the military.
is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
