@luckykevinful Asura's Wrath is a game that's currently being produced. In that game, you play with Asura, a god who's been betrayed by all the other gods and who now seeks revenge. About a month ago, the first public demo of the game was downloadable and in a certain part of the demo, you fight with your mentor. It is this symphony that's being playing during the fight with your mentor and it adds a lot of epicness :p
@FinalFantasyHQ You're right, searched up this music because of Asura's Wrath.
It seems that Asura's Wrath if like a rip off from God of War, maybe not exactly but it ressembles, instead of greek gods being killed, it's like some japanese gods, I don't even know if it's something with the japanese mythology to do
@XEtherealBloodX OMG YES!!!! I played the demo yesterday and my everything is just ugh. Can not wait for that game to come out and yeah this symphony is going into my ipod.
@XEtherealBloodX Catching a sword that is continually extending and being shoved down to the planet in high speeds. Epic speeches and words tossed left and right. Impact made and sword comes out the opposite end all the while a soothing yet epic melody plays in the background. LOL How epic can it get?
What makes this even more beautiful is Karajan is in his advanced age, he cannot move like he did when he was younger....and yet this is such a powerful interpretation. The passion and love for this piece is in Karajan's eyes.
I must say 9:46 - 10:01 is incredibly haunting. It's like a solemn calm after the storm, before the mighty ending comes crashing in.
Pity that you do not feel the initial attack ... one of the most beautiful musical pieces of the story in my opinion ... really pity ... an admirable performance done by a great orchestra with a great master and (personally) with the most beautiful Symphony which has ever been given to hear ... Outstanding really.
whenever I hear this song it makes me want to go up to someone and beat the crap out of them with a flurry of rage filled punches while shouting Ora!Ora!Ora! repeatedly
Even though New World Symphony isn't one of my favorite overall pieces, 7:23-8:13 (especially 7:40-7:52) is one of favorite moments in music EVER. I get almost overcome with emotion every time I hear that passage or even think about it.
2:12 - 2:50. That part reminds me of the CP9 Saga of One piece, How that scene where Luffy first did the 2nd gear. Plus 9:40 all the way to the end of the song. Jet Galting Gun at the end of the CP9 Saga.
I just love the horn solo at the end the way the horn player just reaches up to that top note just a tiny bit early (but it works!) and what a glorious sound on that top C (Horn in E)! and the two horn call after that ....just wonderful!
The best part of this piece is definitely around the middle where the brass section joins in triumphantly to play the modulated version of the movement's main theme :) It permeates the whole piece and creates a really striking thought.
Well, I ithnk it's because this music rreminds you true power wielded by a single man, or, do you make any particular conection between the music and these persons?
@alexwonton Although ,the Berlin Philharmonic accepted women in 1982, you are correct abt. the Vienna Philharmonic. In 1997 the first woman, harpist Anna Lelkes, became a member after having performed with the orchestra as a "non-member" for over twenty years. wikipedia's bit on The Vienna Philharmonic gives interesting info on women members as well as the scarcity of racial diversity in the Vienna Philharmonic membership.
Excellent video. Great shots of the section players.
Re earlier comments: I had no problem with sound quality. I have PC sound going into a stereo system and I heard no clipping with the player volume slightly below full.
I think leaving off some of the beginning is better than having it end without the final notes.
wow, this was one of the best versions I've ever heard of this piece, although the sound volume is way too loud, not sounding natural. The video images are beautiful, looks like a documentary, very amusing :)
@csimmons0varon, I can turn down, but that's not the point. The point is that the audio is clipping (distorting) and turning down the volume won't fix it.

@Omegasmikros It's a pastiche of many Asian mythology, really. Asura itself is a Hindu (India etc.) term.
