Am I the only one who hears batman? =P

  • what the hell is asuras wrath????? Karjan himself brought me here..

  • @luckykevinful Asura's Wrath is a game that's currently being produced. In that game, you play with Asura, a god who's been betrayed by all the other gods and who now seeks revenge. About a month ago, the first public demo of the game was downloadable and in a certain part of the demo, you fight with your mentor. It is this symphony that's being playing during the fight with your mentor and it adds a lot of epicness :p

  • @FinalFantasyHQ You're right, searched up this music because of Asura's Wrath.

It seems that Asura's Wrath if like a rip off from God of War, maybe not exactly but it ressembles, instead of greek gods being killed, it's like some japanese gods, I don't even know if it's something with the japanese mythology to do

  • @Omegasmikros It's a pastiche of many Asian mythology, really. Asura itself is a Hindu (India etc.) term.

  • i heard this from anime one piece where someone got his ass kicked :)

  • @lans1969 i remember it too :)

  • thumps up if chuck brought you here

  • Listening to this just makes me want to go smash fuck out of Augus again!

    Asura's Wrath FTW.

  • Thumbs up if Asuras Wrath brought you here

  • Karajan is a Nazi

  • So who else is here from Asura's Wrath?

  • @XEtherealBloodX OMG YES!!!! I played the demo yesterday and my everything is just ugh. Can not wait for that game to come out and yeah this symphony is going into my ipod.

  • @Heavyarmz81 I know it was so good..

  • @XEtherealBloodX Catching a sword that is continually extending and being shoved down to the planet in high speeds. Epic speeches and words tossed left and right. Impact made and sword comes out the opposite end all the while a soothing yet epic melody plays in the background. LOL How epic can it get?

  • Way too much Trumpet.

  • Performed in 1985,

    Uploaded in 2009,

    Watch in 2012!

  • @Alfredwong100

Forgot to add when it was written.

  • What makes this even more beautiful is Karajan is in his advanced age, he cannot move like he did when he was younger....and yet this is such a powerful interpretation. The passion and love for this piece is in Karajan's eyes.

I must say 9:46 - 10:01 is incredibly haunting. It's like a solemn calm after the storm, before the mighty ending comes crashing in.

  • This is the best thing I have ever heard in my life. The trumpets from 00:12 to 00:27 and the horns at 09:46 are just indescribable.

  • Pity that you do not feel the initial attack ... one of the most beautiful musical pieces of the story in my opinion ... really pity ... an admirable performance done by a great orchestra with a great master and (personally) with the most beautiful Symphony which has ever been given to hear ... Outstanding really.

    Roberto from Mantova (Italy)

  • First time I've ever seen four bassists in the same place and I've been in orchestra for 7 years...

  • watch?v=L95MNCQzD-A

    Metal cover.

  • @VrmTrela please, we are here for music bro

  • Does anyone know the principal Horn's name?

  • I want to cry with this video, very emotional :)

  • whenever I hear this song it makes me want to go up to someone and beat the crap out of them with a flurry of rage filled punches while shouting Ora!Ora!Ora! repeatedly

  • gomu gomu no stooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorm!!!

  • Even though New World Symphony isn't one of my favorite overall pieces, 7:23-8:13 (especially 7:40-7:52) is one of favorite moments in music EVER. I get almost overcome with emotion every time I hear that passage or even think about it.

  • 2:12 - 2:50. That part reminds me of the CP9 Saga of One piece, How that scene where Luffy first did the 2nd gear. Plus 9:40 all the way to the end of the song. Jet Galting Gun at the end of the CP9 Saga.

  • y is the conductors left arm so.... limpy? its like he has a prosthetic arm or somthin

  • @chanybchan He is really old at this point

  • Shivers down my spine.

  • This is ONE good PIECE! *hint*

  • @VrmTrela MUUUUUGIIIWARRAAAAA NOOO ICHIMIII!!

  • I found the conductor's pattern a little confusing... but I guess that's just his style...

  • This Symphony is GREAT but this final movement is an absolute masterpiece.

  • WTF. Best horn solo and probably best solo of the entire piece at the beginning, and they show the conductor.

  • 이~ 종~ 범~ 이~ 종~ 범~ 안~ 타~ 이종범

  • where can i find a sheet music of 4th movement for piano ?

  • I wish you could hear the decrescendo at the end.

  • Stunning, what a piece, what a conductor, what an orchestra!

  • Karajan was the best. No objections.

  • i listen to nothing but house... but holy chiz this is amazing!

  • I can hardly say how much I enjoyed listening to this. The video is excellent too. Cannot wait to pass this on to everyone I know. Fantastico!

  • I just love the horn solo at the end the way the horn player just reaches up to that top note just a tiny bit early (but it works!) and what a glorious sound on that top C (Horn in E)! and the two horn call after that ....just wonderful!

  • On imagine bien l'Ouest des States, avec les indiens et la cavalerie ^^

  • J'aime vraiment cette musique... ♥

  • GOMU GOMU NOoooo STOOOOORM!!

  • THIS IS THE BEST RECORDING I'VE EVER HEARD OF IT. :)

  • I usually hate it when they rush that part starting at 0:58, but they just nailed it :D

  • Is the composer doing anything at the start?

    Great score!

  • Excellent in all possible ways....

  • One AMAZING symphony :)

That chord at 9:54 always gives me chills

  • It's cool how this was played in One Piece.

  • Fantastic Performance! :D, Great conductor, Great Orchestra, Great Piece, :D,

    I really like 3:33 to 3:57 :D

  • Please, post this video again!!! The ending cut it!!!

  • they could make an entire tom and jerry episode out of this song haha. also idk if anyone noticed but that was a total sausage fest lmao

  • they could make an entire tom and jerry episode with this song lmao

  • That conductor looks SOO familiar...who is he?

fucking LOVE this movement though XD

  • @rv14142 wiener philharmoniker

  • @rv14142 Herbert von Karajan

  • 1 person who dislike must be beethoven... if it isn't, i don't understand ..

  • a part of its melody reminds me of the song "City" by Hollywood Undead

  • AWESOME!!!

  • The best part of this piece is definitely around the middle where the brass section joins in triumphantly to play the modulated version of the movement's main theme :) It permeates the whole piece and creates a really striking thought.

  • WHY?!? NOOO, not the beginning!!!!

  • shit. that horn section is fucking beast.

  • lol why is that guy waving that stick around what a fag

  • @habbitz Uh, are you dumb? He is a conductor..... Wow, senseless people these days!

  • @violintwilightsaga28 Lol r u stupid? I don't see a train anywhere!

  • @habbitz Wow...... Hahahaha.... Not....

  • @habbitz

    idiot...

  • 1 person is not from the new world.

  • Someone seems to have hacked into God's MP3 player!

  • To me, Dvorak is like Beethoven+Tchaikovsky+Mahler. Which is awesome, because they are my 3 favorite composers :D

  • This piece always reminds me of Napoleon and Hitler

  • @Edsworth911

Well, I ithnk it's because this music rreminds you true power wielded by a single man, or, do you make any particular conection between the music and these persons?

  • wow.. this is great! very grand, lord of the rings type. Totally suggests something epic and adventurous.

  • NOt a single woman in this orchestra... odd

  • @lagrandefille not until 1997 they started having female orchrestra members because of tradition...

  • @alexwonton Although ,the Berlin Philharmonic accepted women in 1982, you are correct abt. the Vienna Philharmonic. In 1997 the first woman, harpist Anna Lelkes, became a member after having performed with the orchestra as a "non-member" for over twenty years. wikipedia's bit on The Vienna Philharmonic gives interesting info on women members as well as the scarcity of racial diversity in the Vienna Philharmonic membership.

  • Great trumpet!

Dvorak is one of my favorite "classical" composers

  • Excellent piece!

  • this is so epic, do they use forms of this in movie themes?>

  • was this like just before karajan's death?

  • Increíble, gracias por el vídeo.

  • Excellent video. Great shots of the section players.

Re earlier comments: I had no problem with sound quality. I have PC sound going into a stereo system and I heard no clipping with the player volume slightly below full.

I think leaving off some of the beginning is better than having it end without the final notes.

  • dude...........Vienna brass just PWND the whole world.

  • @Metrognomic tie between them and CSO on the solti recording imo

  • good quality, which is lacking in most of these videos. Upload much appreciated!

  • Tre Manifique, a most magnificent video.

  • wow, this was one of the best versions I've ever heard of this piece, although the sound volume is way too loud, not sounding natural. The video images are beautiful, looks like a documentary, very amusing :)

  • @fabriciozu I'm guessing that there's a rational explanation for this, but why can't you just turn down the volume?

  • @csimmons0varon, I can turn down, but that's not the point. The point is that the audio is clipping (distorting) and turning down the volume won't fix it.
