  • What an astonishing song. Rogers hummed the melody down the phone from NY to Hart in Florida. Hart telegraphed back the lyrics. Will Ella ever be bettered? I don't think so.

  • 15 Lady Gaga fans must have stumbled upon this page and hit the dislike button. This is talent people, T A L E N T, something lacking in most of today's music.

  • Il miglior intro di questa canzone

  • My god this is lovely. Rarely hear such a good singer as Ella on youtube.

  • It's all between you and God anyway.

  • this makes me very happy

  • @TheGiantDouch I love Chet Baker's version of this song--I love all of his work

  • This is beautiful, stand before anyone knew it definitely felt and pass to us "mortals" love of his office: "Singing "!!!!

  • @naughtyyogi81 It's not a back handed compliment. Upon first listening, you might think that, but when you really pay attention you realize that the singer is talking about their lover as their lover sees him or herself. When we look in the mirror, often we see only our flaws, and the singer in this song is addressing those flaws and saying, "Please don't change them because they make you who you are and I love you exactly that way."

  • @justajellybean you should read about Chet baker, he once loved a woman who broke his heart.

he kinda sing a lot while thinking about what happened ...

  • Best female vocal God has ever created. Pure blessing to my ears.

  • shame about the preamble (and everything else here) - the song is so much stronger when it starts in the minor. she and this arrangement neuters the song entirely.

  • Am I the only one to realize that this whole song is a back handed comment to a lover? Anyone else? But it's still a beautiful song.

  • We will never hear her like again. Thank God she recorded all those wonderful, moving recordings for us.

  • Churchill's favorite song

  • 12 people are morons

  • ughg! When can we get back to THIS music. A symphony...horns, violins, trumpets, clarinets, and a flawlss voice. No flashy lights just a soul-sucking preformance.

  • right when i started listening to this i got the chills and now im crying. so beautiful. maybe im just tired, but either way.

  • beutiful

  • Addiction Kanye West

  • When I listen to Ella, it seems to me, like the mankind has already extincted, and we are their more developed descendants living somewhere on more developed than the earth

  • bonjour, hello,

    an other version..

  • wheres the rest of the lyrics?

  • Pitch perfect, amazing range, a voice as smooth as creme this women is magic.

  • It's a lovely song.

If someone sang it to me, I'd hit them.

    But it's still lovely.

  • 7 people have valentines with no sense of humor. :(

  • The 7 dislikes: Justin Bieber. Rebecca Black, Miley Cyrus, the 3 Jonas Brothers and Satan.

  • @taraebeth LOL that's 8

  • @taraebeth Are you sure Kesha's not one of them??

  • @taraebeth lol they got mad and made another account each xD

  • A perfect song sung perfectly.

  • 7 people got drool on their mouse and accidently clicked dislike.

  • 7 people are deaf and bitter

  • very nice i m a singer

  • 7 people only have sad valentines

  • 7 People must be deaf or something...

  • @AbbeySnappyDoo actually, 7 people are entitled to their opinion.

Just because you like this song, doesn't mean the rest of the world should.

  • meravigliose note che vibrano nello stomaco e nell'aria... Grande Ella Fritzgerald... come sempre!!

  • I love all the different interpretations of this song!

    Just lovely!

  • 7 people uhh... Suck balls!

  • Masterful version. Sarah Vaughn's live version takes me into outer space.

  • Perfection. Her voice is perfection.

  • @madamexfiles Ella's voice is proof there is a God.

  • @JasonWB007 how true and beautiful!

  • @JasonWB007 AMEN, AMEN!!! Have loved her voice since I first heard it on my parents old LP's... :)

  • @JasonWB007 Anyone can be just as good as Ella if they Practice!

    But Ella's a True Beauty!

  • A musica e linda e a voz da Ella e Fantastica que letra verdadeira nao precisamos mudar nada em nosso fisico se amamos alguem.

  • Is it strange that I picture a violin as the incomparable ella sings? Just the beautiful pitch, the way notes seem to float but still have this beautiful resonate body. Such an incredible voice.

  • Perfect.

  • It is the perfect Valentines Day song. "Don't change a hair for me, not if you care for me".....after all, when you love someone, "each day IS Valentines Day". Love the one you are with everyday, not just once a year, and accept them for all the faults that you (really) love too. Thank you Ella, this is the ultimate performance of this great song

  • @Graemeandarchie This song isn't about valentine's day. It's about a person named Valentine.

  • i guess this is the nearest to perfection as it goes. Thank you for posting this awesome video. I love it.

  • simply beautiful

  • "each day is Valentine's Day"

  • I like it very much.Thank you.

  • A classic Rogers & Hart, sung beautifully by a classic lady!

  • いつ聴いてもエラは最高ですね!

    素敵なヴァレンタインディがおとづれますように。

  • 包み込んでくれる優しい声がすてき。心が温かい。ありがとう。

  • I adore this song- this makes me all dreamy :)

  • @1winkwinkproductions 13 dislikes that prefer autotune, Bay Bay and/or RiRi! No back to the music... ELLA!!!!!!!

  • @dawn220 typo "Now"

  • Is it me or am I the only person in the world that now knows that they dont make singers like this anymore Theres only one word Fantastic....

  • @skindog4u It's just you, they make singers like this, but record companies don't want them...because they prefer easy bucks...

  • You are not alone skindog4u @skindog4u

  • @skindog4u no you're definitely not :)

  • @skindog4u A singer of epic proportions such as this is not "made", but rather born.

  • OMG!!!!!! I love this version...... I am 43 and have never heard this version before!

  • I cried.

  • @LettuceZing so did i! i feel like im going to everytime :P

  • what key is this in?

  • @mebs1234 Gmin

  • @mebs1234 Not 100% sure, but I'd say G minor.

  • Let the artist express their way and so much to enjoy of their heavenly creations.

  • who dis-likes this song!? WHY!?!?!?!

  • miles davis did the title better justice XD

  • @Jutisan

Indeed he played it better but Ella sings it the best.

  • 4 people here are DEAF

  • @Khriztie87

    TELL IT!! lol

  • What is she singing before the head of my funny valentine comes in?

  • DONT CHANGE A HAIR FOR ME!

NOT IF YOU CARE FOR ME!

  • There was no one like Ella, one of my biggest regrets in life was that I never got to see her perform live. What a lady...love you Ella!

  • i hate to say this cos i get annoyed when people prefer covers over the original

but lucie jones's version on x factor was just breathtaking... i dont even like x factor but wow.. her voice in this song gave me shivers. check it out if you haven't already!

  • @blondie3295

I don't see the show either.

I did, she is not even comparable with Lady Ella, she does have a great voice, but as only objective judge said "Something is missing" he didn't know what but I do, the performance lacked musicality which is exactly what Ella got plenty, unlike Susan Boyle.

The point in performing a jazz standard is to add something from yourself, Lucie performed very good vocally, but if you listen to this version, Ella changes the tune all the time, but for the best.

  • this song is divine. Indulgent and fabulous.

  • Wonderful...... thank you for posting this !! ;)"

  • im sorry, i love E.F but i love nico's version much better.

  • @yuuki123fire You wouldn't happen to be reading Goldengrove would you? ;P

Because if you are, we're reading the same thing for our school.

  • @124085 haha. Yeah, i'm pretty sure that's what it was called. It's about that girl with the sister who died, and that creepy boyfriend of the dead sister right? Nico? Yeah, something like that right?

  • ELLA, the best female vocalist ever!

  • Nice arrangement! Ella's voice is lovely. Thanks for posting!

  • Ella can do it all, and her range is incredible. She makes the song her own and yet the song inhabits her. She is one of the great ones.

  • Ella once again is perfection - simply beautiful...

  • So lovely

  • When Ella wraps her voicals around the lyrics of this song it comes to life as a colorful love story. Her light caressing tones simply soars above the heavy overtones heard by other performers. This is a lovers song....My Funny Valentine.
