1 - TO CLARIFY! It is true that the Moonglowers lost their competition to the B band at the school. For one, they went overtime, and that affected the score a lot, but the B Band is also very good, and their director is as good as the one directing the Moonlgowers.
2 - What up with all the hate? This is partway through the year, so they don't have it perfect, but that's no reason to totally rip them apart? The speed was an artistic choice, so just deal with it and shut up!
yeah moonglower's BLOW for not improving...except for the fact that all of the saxes (minus the bari he actually wrote his entire solo) are all improving it just sounds written?
@protestxday what does your experience of jazz come from? What gives you the right to totally attack this band on multiple videos? As far as I know, you have no qualification or authority to judge...
@lpc315 if you're asking me "where" my experience comes from, it comes from 3 state championships with my high school band, 3 summer jazz programs, regions, private lessons for 8 years, and 7 years experience in a jazz band to be exact. I could name plenty more if you'd like, but I think that should suffice. Now, rather than defending the moonglowers, which you seem to think of very highly, read the criticisms I'd written and analyze them. Learn from them. Tell that idiot director to change.
@lpc315 Dude I'm the bari saxman in the video.... Roger (Protest) is the tenor next to me. Not only does he have all that under his belt but he speaks from the perspective of someone who was in the moonglowers for two years. I sadly share his opinion of the moonglowers sorry to disappoint u. Only the pianist guitarist bassist roger and the lead alto improved their solos. Its just novice to be honest with you. Plus you feature the same soloists on all the tunes and it adds to the list.
@protestxday not just that, they reuse charts from year to year, and they are actually painful to listen to at some times because everyone needs to take a solo for some reason, extending their set and really no one wants to hear that many highschool jazz solos
That's impressive, should be titled "Samba Del Mueva Los Everything Else"
Would've liked to hear more double a's, get on that, mr. 1st trumpet
