I have been saying this ever since this system came out WTF, how can you call that portable? a 2 hour battery life,and can't fit in a pocket, I can buy a gameboy which will last me a whole flight on fresh batteries AND it is cheaper and it has better ganes, now the present,Is Nintendo the only smart game company out there? they know how to balance out power,price and if it is portable,portability,Just look at the 3ds,near early xbox 360 graphics,super portable and decent battery with 3d off

with batteries you buy today the game gear has a pretty good battery life of about 4 to 6 hours. With the batteries back then you were lucky to get 2 hours but i still think the game gear was and still is a pretty good system! I recently fixed mine (cap replacement) and it plays like new again.

It seems everyone is forgetting about the battery pack that lasted for 8 straight hours. Man I know it's big and bulky and hangs of your belt, but to me it looks all futuristic. O.k. I'm just kidding on that one, but it sure makes the Game Gear a lot funner no matter how ridiculous it looks hanging of my belt lol.

@vacuumlover1 loll, no. Wireless means also without wires :P The GameGear was able to run without ac cord for two hours max. It required 6 AA batteries :D
